Wife enjoyed her garden salad but for $10 seemed slightly pricey. Ranch dressing was good but store bought. One more thing - very few vegetarian choices! Service- 3/5: Everyone working that day in the front had food stains on their clothes. I get it's a restaurant but gave off unclean establishment vibes. Then the chicken fried steak was very spicy as well, can't even enjoy it. Then when my wife decides to just eat the sides, she finds hair in the mash potatoes. Saturday afternoon the hubby and I went here as I've seen some pretty good reviews. Sadly our time there was a lackluster. The decor was nice, open and spacious. Lots of marine memorabilia. Service was decent they said food would take a long time but it didn't really. We both had a flavored lemonade, which I think was the best part about lunch. Gator bites were very crunchy but couldn't really taste the gator. Also lacked salt/pepper imo. I had the fried catfish, shrimp and fries. All lacked seasoning. To me the fries tasted as if they were frozen and then fried. Instead of fresh cut potato's. Hubby had a burger and agreed it was good but nothing to be amazed by. We always have a good meal at 6Klicks. The food is tasty and plentiful. We usually get enough food for two meals. It's comfort food at its best. Great spot. I had the surf and turf burger and my girlfriend got the fried shrimp basket, and both were really good and fresh. I'm from Louisiana, so I'm picky about seafood and Cajun flavors, but this place impressed me. Looking forward to coming back to try the gator bites and Cajun pasta. This place was great. The servers were excellent and attentive and friendly. the fiesta salad that I got was very well made specifically the blackened shrimp on top of it. The only feedback I'd have is none of their salad dressings seem to really go with the fiesta salad, I ended up with a honey balsamic which was good, but there wasn't any Salad dressing that I was aware of that was that citrusy lime avocado type taste that you normally find on a salad with corn and beans. Would happily come back though and either get the same thing or try something else you can definitely tell that they put a lot of time and effort into the menu and making a lot of stuff in house and it shows in the food. read more

The green beans have garlic and small chunks of sausage throughout. The Mac is deliciously cheesy. Howard had the pulled pork burger which he devoured. His side was the Mac and cheese. Give them a try. They are in Helotes, so expect a half hour drive, depending on traffic. We started with the onion rings. How do they get the crust so delicately delicious? Really good, although I would expect a few more rings for $10. The service was fine. When we arrived, only one server was working and she closed down half of the restaurant. A hidden gem in Helotes! Great comfort food for a great price! The staff was super friendly and very attentive and gave us recommendations on every section of the menu. I ordered the hangover burger with mac and cheese. The burger was good, it could have used a bit more of flavoring with a nice sauce, but overall good. The mac and cheese was amazing. Called and ordered the spinach salad for my wife. The cost on the website was listed as 15.01. I was told by the individual who took the order the cost was now 17.00. When I arrived at the restaurant they refused to honor the website price. Awfully high for a salad. When I got home my wife opened the container and it was only half full! Outrageous! This a favorite local spot of ours in the neighborhood. It is veteran-owned and they recognize other military service veterans. There is always a table set for the fallen. Let us start with the customer service. The family is so friendly and very patient. It is hard to fault with a family who cares for the community. We were on a hunt for bluebonnets in the Old Helotes area and unfortunately was not successful. We decided to visit @6klicks nearby for dinner yesterday. It was good to see Krista again, and she took care of us from start to finish. Dad had Lemonade, I had Dos Equis, and Hubby had Coors Light. I remembered food portions here were huge. We shared the Strawberry Spinach Salad, and couldn't finish it all. Dad and Hubby shared the Fried Seafood Platter with catfish, shrimp, and a side of mashed potatoes. I had the Coconut Shrimp with onion rings. I want to say that the onion rings are the best in town! I was telling Krista how an orange marmalade would be great with the coconut shrimp, and they only do it during specials. @6klicks is part of the San Antonio Restaurant Gold Club. First time going for breakfast and had a HORRIBLE experience! The service was slow, which I could forgive, but the incompetence and lack of attention to customer requests was a big problem. I ordered a meal that came with bacon and eggs, which I ordered over medium. The bacon was soft and flimsy (barely cooked) and the eggs were inedible because they were so runny that it was as if they were just cracked, cooked for 30 seconds, and put on a plate. Maybe I was supposed to specify that I wanted the bacon to be cooked and crispy, but this was probably the most undercooked bacon I have been served in my life (like chewy soft, if you know what I mean). Then, I ordered an omelet that came with hash browns and specified NO mushrooms. It came out filled with mushrooms. They offered to remake the meals after we pointed these issues out and took my plate (hash browns and all) away. When they brought the meal back out to me, it was just the omelette and no hash browns! When I asked where they were, I was told "oh he just made the omelet...you want the hash browns too?" I mean, obviously...it's supposed to come with my meal and you took them away! If you weren't going to give me more hash browns, at least freakin' tell me so I can keep and eat the ones I have! Then, I was told the breakfast kitchen was closed, so that was that. No manager came out to apologize or even acknowledge things. No discount was given for the obviously poor experience. As a matter of fact, I wish I would have looked at the itemized receipt prior to my husband paying because I think we were over charged. The math isn't mathing when compared to the menu's pricing. I was greatly disappointed and would NOT recommend eating here. The food, once prepared as requested, was OK at best. Also, fyi, they don't have chocolate milk for the kids nor do they have salsa...not deal breakers, but maybe someone would want to know before going. We will NOT be going back. read more

We had some unexpected visitors on Thanksgiving day morning and so with no food ready to serve we found 6 clicks cafe open and there to save the day. They were having a fixed price Thanksgiving Day meal which included Turkey Ham stuffing mashed potatoes corn green bean casserole sweet potato casserole cranberry sauce and dinner roll for dessert you have the options of pumpkin pie pecan pie or banana pudding. The place was about half full so we weren't the only ones eating out for Thanksgiving and our hostess Missy was extremely friendly and treated us like family. Overall, everything was good but could he use a little bit more seasoning, I passed on the stuffing but really loved the sweet potato casserole and banana pudding. Stumbled upon this place today with my boys. Service was wonderful and friendly. Tables are very nice and chairs are comfortable. The most important part was the food... sooo yummy! We tried two apps among the three of us: Sweet and spicy meatballs and Buffalo chicken cheese fries. Main courses: Hangover burger, grilled fish tacos, both with Mac and cheese as side and coconut shrimp with tots. Tots were perfectly extra crisp and tried garlic aioli and sweet/spicy Thai sauce and yummy, but dipping the shrimp or tots in the meatball sauce was the best!
