Updated to a 3 because of the fact I've had to have two more other salons fix the nails I had done here. They looked pretty and they held up well but they weren't straight, and they were so thick I couldn't button my clothes or open a pop. After going to one salon to help thin them down and re-shape them they were better but still couldn't open pop or pick up a receipt off the floor. I went to a second place on Clinton Highway and they made the nails nearly perfect. The manager there did it for FREE because he said the job that had been done originally was so bad he couldn't let me go home like that. They're now about 1/4 the thickness they were and still just as strong. They are all shaped straight and look wonderful. I also was told with I went to this salon originally the gel acrylic "should burn" a little when under the light and it burned a lot. I asked the other two salons about this and they said he totally screwed up my nails and the nail beds and THAT is why they burned. Neither of the other salons had ever heard of putting acrylic on and having it burn. Good to know. They were still nice to our group when we went and got us all in on one afternoon so I'm not taking them below a 3 but I won't be back. read more

Moved her from Chicago and have been struggling to find a good nail place. My bar tender clued me into 5th Nail And said to ask for Ramsey. Ramsey is great at design and very friendly. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is the pricing, seemed very high and they charge you for taking off polish which seems pretty nickel and dime if you ask me when the set itself was already high, then add design and some other weird fee the cost was over $100 with tip. I will make sure I book with Ramsey again. Next time I'll try and book a pedicure if time allows. read more

Called to check that they were open on MLK day and was told to just walk in for 2 manicures with regular polish. Extremely allergic to latex and the lady walked up in latex gloves while I was choosing a color and grabbed me by the arm in latex gloves to test colors out. I was just trying to treat my mom to a simple mani because we never get to have our nails done so didn't need anything that required a refill. Instead we were harassed the entire time to get gel, to the point that I asked if we needed to go somewhere and else to be able to just get simple manicures and the woman who checked us in and was annoyed the entire time stood and watched them paint our nails in the most simple way. So uncomfortable and unprofessional. I work in customer service and understand people may not have the need for what I try to upsell them, however, they were relentless and overbearing. I went there due to having a Christmas gift card from family and was willing to give them every penny on it just to get what we asked for an leave. The Balenciaga, Chanel and LV wearing employees seemed not to need the service of anyone just wanting to simply treat themselves. I wouldn't spend my money here even if I was a millionaire. SUCH an unwelcoming experience. I'll paint my nails at home for the rest of forever or go and visit B&H nails. You can choose a color and decide you don't like it and she will giggle and help you pick a new color, not ridicule you. Terrible!!! If I could choose Zero stars I would. I told the lady at the front counter that spoke English that I wanted acrylic nails. I sat down at the ladies table that spoke little English. Her name was Kate and I told her I wanted acrylic nails. She said oh no gel nails are so much better For you and refused to put on acrylic nails and continue to put gel nails on which I did not want. She then gave me a pedicure and I wanted the back of my heels to be sanded down due to they were rough and splitting causing pain when walking. She said that she will not sand the back of my heels and if I wanted that it would be a $10 charge extra. So I spent over $100 for gel nails. I recently moved to the area, and it's been a while since I've gotten my nails done, so my husband treated me for Mother's Day. The salon is beautiful and updated, very visually appealing. The massage chairs are awesome and super comfortable so that was a plus. Pedicure was great, he went through all the motions of cleaning and cutting cuticles and applied the polish carefully. Only feedback there is I only got one coat and you can kinda See through it. Then I moved to the nail bar. My nails we're definitely not done with the same standard. I was cut when getting my cuticles removed, and I had to ask him to cut off skin and hang nails that he missed. He began to put polish on and I had to ask him to clean under my nails. They were super dirty from gardening. He applied the polish which didn't turn out great, and I didn't get a hand massage which was advertised, and couldn't ask for it after because my polish was wet. Overall the staff was very young. There were about 10+ people working there and majority were young men. Not sure if it's a lack of experience? I'm not opposed to trying it again, it was very busy in there and recommended by a friend, so I hope this isn't the typical experience. read more

Sorry , but my review goes from a 5 star to a 3 star. My favorite girl, Jen, left for their other location and I was assigned to Leo. He was very nice, but he used a grinder on my nails to remove my cuticles. NEVER, and I mean NEVER let anyone use that technique on your nails! I didn't know that it was not okay until after Leo used a grinder on my fingernails!! The skin on my fingers was shredding and my nails, I guess my nails had been thinned out from being ground down! It's been about a month and my nails look weird!! I'm very upset! Unfortunately, I will not be returning to 5th Nail Salon. I've added two more pictures of what my nails look like one month after my last visit. It shows odd marks on the middle and ring fingers. Those marks show up on every finger, but it's especially noticeable on those particular fingers. I'm assuming the nails just have to grow out before they look normal again. I wish I could not put a star. You really have to pay attention to when they ask you what you are looking for. I was charged $100 for a pedi that I did not ask for. Upon check out they tell me they don't do refunds. The person at the front desk was not helpful. She told me the next time I come in and I don't understand, to ask for someone who can explain things better. I told them I will never come back. Customer service here is terrible there are a few good nail technicians, But having an appointment doesn't mean anything to them you'll get in when you get in. And using the electric nail file to cut down cuticles should be outlawed; my gel manicure lasted all of 18 minutes for $35. I will not be returning to this place ever again. WORST SERVICE. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Specified twice that we wanted a basic acrylic set for my daughter. I got to pay and they chose to do a full gel set and charge me for it. After the receptionist refused to do the right thing and only charge $35 vs $75, I asked for management and his solution was to remove the set she had on and redo with a basic set then the female manager offered to charge the $35 but then add $15. I felt like I lost brain cells after this conversation with them. The front receptionist said "we can tell them what you ask for but they just do what they want. If we discount this to the $35 he loses all that money". I said I am not worried about that, that is his fault for not listening to what we asked for. I did NOT pay for the full set. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I will never return to this place. After sitting down and having my nails filed, I was made fun of for having short nails. I specifically asked for tips because I am aware my nails are short. I asked the lady what she said and she responded "nothing". She had to have been brand new by the looks of my nails and how all the other employees came by to check on her. I should've asked to see her license, because I'm not sure she has one. I was cut by a file, my nails are thick and don't match the shape of my natural nail, I have a random piece of glitter on one nail, spotted top coat on multiple nails, and bubbling on my thumb. I called after I left because I walked into a store with better light and realized how awful they were. I was told they have a 7 day guarantee and that I could come back and get them fixed how I like. With that being said, I did decline that offer because of how I felt in that salon. I did not feel welcome at all. You go to these places to feel better about yourself, and I left feeling way worse. My friends are in shock at how bad my nails are. Pictures do not do it justice. my visit began fine. The tech was called over the walkie talkie and she came out, looked at my nails and asked me if i wanted a full set. Apparently the receptionist greeting me was all they deemed necessary. The nail tech was very rough. and my middle fingernail was CROOKED. She looked at that hand a good 10 more times and never caught it. She nonchilauntly asked me if i wanted pink gel, which i am assume is what made it $60 for a natural acrylic nails with no polish. The machine she cured my nails with ONE NAIL AT A TIME was too hot to stand more than two seconds at a time which (since she barely spoke) she didnt bother to worn me. She acted as if she knew it was coming and kind of amused that it was hot. as as things started winding up she started to ask me if i wanted services. So we finished and i went to pay my bill. We ran the card about 5 times and it wouldnt process. So i had to call my husband in from the car....let me add here that there were about 10 teenagers hanging out in the reception area im not sure why. and when my husband started in one of the young men (don't know if he was an employee or not) said something to my nail tech and they Laughed. both looking at him again. So .... He gave her his card she it 2 times and then she put it in manually and then told him it still wouldn't go...but it was showing a receipt on his phone. To wrap it all up my nail tech was rough rude. Hairdressers have been making useless conversation with people For years. But i guess shes too good for that. A 4 ounce glass of boxed wine doesn't mean you can sit there stone faced and talk to everyone around yourr customer and them think "HMMMM seems like a nice visit) it was a very dissapointing experiance.
