I participated in this FREE fun, amazing, useful(yeah man, DIY Gin Cocktail-easy peasy. Their recipe was SO easy. Trust me, if I can make that Gin Cocktail, you can) and bubbly event at Sullivan's Steakhouse tonight! Staff at Sullivan checked us in, they immediately made us little Gintonic! Way to start, right? Britnie J, Norma G and I were so excited about our drink but oh wait, there's more! As soon as we walked in to that little party room, they had like 6-7 big tables with all of ingredients we needed(measuring cups, fresh lemons and cucumbers, sparkling water and more!), pretty red roses, and they also had this little cute buffet(oh man, I loved their sandwiches so much! Tuna was really good too). After we were seated, the brand ambassador for Hendricks, Fred started presenting his nice presentation and telling us about their history, fun fact, etc. Oh and then what? Time to DIY Gin Cocktail, woohoo woohoo! Our first menu was Cucumber Lemonade; cucumber, fresh lemon, simple syrup, sparkling water. yeah that's it!! Easy, right? I gotta say, this recipe was so easy but it tasted SO good. All of our group members agreed that this was the bomb!!! Second menu was Blueberry Delight(pretty much same ingredients but added blueberry and greentea syrup) and it was really freshy, fruity and sweet! Lastly, our whole table made this big a$$ Tenured Punch. It was so huge, we could never finish that whole thing but it was so fun making it all together! Everything was so great and Fred did such a great job organizing this event! He was so fun and good at teaching us how to make the best Gin ever! Also, after our Gin Cocktail academy, they even gave us little gifts and everybody was so excited about that! Overall, this was wayyyyyy beyond my expectations and I really hope that they organize this event again!! This Gin Academy was one of the most useful/fun events ever! Now, I just have to make some excuses, invite my lady friends over and do this DIY delicious Gin that I learned from tonight's class!!

They literally had bottles of gin waiting for us on our tables and said have at it. Of course with a little instruction and recipe cards we were old pros by the end of the night. (; Boy were our creations delicious. The Cucumber Lemonade was out of this world, so Refreshing. I even recreated it when I got home for my husband and me. It was that good. I recently became a gin drinker and have been playing with Cockails at home, so this academy was much appreciated. Unfortunately Covid hit, however the school remained dedicated to staying open for the children. No fault of the school, but for our son, he was struggling outdoors due to a medical condition. My husband, the year ended was worried over a permanent location being established in time and missing other deadlines. The hardest decision I ever made was to leave this lovely school and community, for an "indoor school" I wanted to hear my child's request, yet I knew in my heart what they had built is one of a kind. He and our family have since regretted this decision. Well, the school did it as i knew they would. They found a permanent building. They are also growing continuously year after year as I knew they would. But we could not get out of our contract. If you want your child truly loved, educated, and cared for: mind, body and spirit THIS is your school. The teachers are VERY well educated with post bachelor degrees. , most importantly, dedicated to your child individually. The school is ran by one of the most caring, highly educated and compassionate individuals as well. Love, education, individuality, and family are so important to this school. It has taken my husband 3 years and 2 Different schools of watching our son suffer immensely through bullying, cruelty from teachers, and schoolwork not being developmentally appropriate from so called other top private schools. He now has "seen the light" so to speak and knows he allowed his lack of understanding Waldorf education and the growing of the school. It was during a major life crisis in our family and admittedly I should have fought harder for our son to stay. . And we left the most perfect school there is around this city. Was my husband educated on the Waldorf way? No and it worried him. Now he understands that our child was loved and happy while receiving an amazing, one of a kind, Waldorf education. His conservative views of what "school" should be like, was crushed as we were enrolled in one of the "typical" sought after private schools. Then came one of highly recommended private Christian schools. Neither of which can compare at ALL to enriching and educating..most of all, truly loving our son. We were undeserving of the love and support extended to our family from the head of this school and teachers. Although we were no longer enrolled, they still extended love to our family! Parents..PLEASE trust you're gut! And come with an open mind If new to the Waldorf experience. Partners, support the parent of your child please if they know this is the right school. It is! This is by far the most well rounded private school there is in and around Raleigh where you can rest assured your child is being educated in a loving way and protected. As a mother I am forever grateful for our time here and now that hearts and minds have opened I hope there will one day be space there again for our children! The last class he learned to use different hand planes to hand - carve traditional molding profiles. Tomorrow he is going to learn to sharpen saws. Where else can you learn things like this? For the right kind of person, this is like candy. People travel from different states for these classes. We are lucky to live less than an hour away, and are looking forward to taking many more classes in the future!
