I have never seen reviews so all over the place before.
The restaurant opens at 11:30, and I was there right when it opened, so we were able to get a seat by the window. First impression was a great view of the river below and the palace across the bridge, but the windows were dirty, and there was a huge metal shield in our way. The menu was quite simple, and it was easy to communicate with the servers. The food presentation was lacking, being only served in some ceramic dishes. They are aiming for a "picnic" setting, but I was not really feeling it. There was even a little pot of grass to convince me, but I think it was a strange and awkward idea.
I had the seared salmon, which was nice, but it came with a side of something that tasted like butter, but had the consistency of a loose omelette. Really not too sure... The bread was hard (almost broke my tooth), and was unfortunately tasteless. The prices were not as expensive as I thought they were be. I guess the view is what you pay for, and you are also paying for the opportunity to eat in M. Eiffel's world-famous tower! I was glad they accepted American Express, which is quite hard to find around Paris.
Great place for lunch, overpriced for dinner. The dinner prices are inflated, and are quite absurd. This place is just for small groups as well, taking many people is not worth it, and you probably will not be seated next to the windows.
The service is lacking. It took me 10 minutes to get the check after I was finished eating, and the only encounter I had with the server was when he took the order, and then brought it over. Not much follow-up, and it makes it seem like they just do not care.
Two stars for the food and pricing, but I'd bump to three for the view and overall experience. read more
