The sales they have are awesome. Quality products and cool clothes. You can look casual but have very useful pockets and hidden compartments. Plus the stuff lasts long. My wife and I were shopping in the store and the clerk was following us around. He was actually standing a few feet away and watched us the entire time. My first and only visit, except maybe to return something. As I arrived, there were two males and two females at the front desk just shooting the breeze, at first I thought they were customers. They were four staff members. This is at 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I wasn't greeted, so I walked in and saw the boots I was looking for. I spent a few minutes alone walking around the boots to see what was there, noboby came up to ask if I'd like some help and they continued their casual conversation. After a few minutes of waiting, I went up to the four of them and said "Excuse me for bothering you, but do you have socks to use for trying on the boots", the girl replied "Oh no, you're not bothering us, let me get them for you." She came over, handed me the socks and went back to the conversation. Still no offer for assistance or questions. Then an older, bald gentleman walks in and the two females immediately walk over to him and help him get all things he wanted. I tried on the boot and was happy enough, went up to pay and he basically just took my money. At this time, I did tell the guy that I certainly could have used some help. I've been purchasing 5.11s on-line for a while now, until they opened a store in Riverside. I went with some friends to check out this store and purchased a few items with the intention of returning to buy more clothes. Now, this place isn't for those who can't afford their line of clothes. It's mainly for the military, law enforcement and people who are EMTs and other departments. The personnel there are great and very courteous. read more

I like the products, saw the store, spent 15 minutes getting to the store, and I was disappointed. They have all the products and the prices are comparable to the internet but the place has a bad vibe. They were blasting crappy music and nobody was helpful. They're expensive and we were willing to pay for tactical gear but they said that they are, "moving away from tactical and more into fashion". Great shop. Got all the things I needed and a bunch stuff I didn't. Closer to me than Galls or Quartermaster, 5.11 prices are a tad steep, but the quality is far from cheap. If you want to spend a 1/3 as much on a Chinese knockoff, go ahead but don't whine when it fails you when you need it most. I'll buy 5.11 it'll keep going as long as I do. read more

I'm a 5.11 tactical fanatic! I love this place. They had anything you need, and if they don't you can place a custom order. (I did that with my plate carrier) the customer service was awesome. They let me play with their simulator in the store. Anyways if you are into tactical stuff or you are LEO or Military they offer discounts and they have all the stuff you need! read more

I really like this store. They have quality clothes and accessories. A bit pricey so I wait for their sales or internet deals. They have great service. I was in today and this beautiful brunette woman with a great smile greeted me. I didn't buy anything but she was helpful. She helped by looking for a shoe size and explained what my options were since they didn't have my size. I didn't get her name but just wanted to give her kudos so hopefully she gets credit. So I just left 5.11 tactical and had a bad experience. I bought the EVO 8" W/SZ Black boots a pair of Stryke pants, and the expensive cupron socks for work 5 days ago. So I wore them for a day and the boots kept rubbing up against my Achilles' tendon and it was extremely uncomfortable to the point of not being able to walk after a 12 hour shift. I go to return them after wearing them for the one full shift and according to their return policy they are warranted for defects. I explained what happened to the cashier and she refused to honor it. I spoke to the manager who also refused to honor it. I was told I could get a gift card instead for the amount. I told her no, I don't need a gift card I just want my money back. The boots are no good. Long story short, I had to call their corporate hq and have them follow their actual return policy. If you run into the manager Sabrina, don't take her word for your returns. She is not there for your service, she's there to boost sales. I don't see myself going back after the way she tried to hustle me. read more

Went in last week looking for a pair of boots. I like the gear, but the prices are HIGH and the customer service is non-existent. I was the only customer in the store and I tried on boots and looked at other merchandise for 20 minutes while the two employees played cards at the front desk... Literally!! Was in a pinch and needed a new pair of BDU pants for work tonight. Came into the store and had a less than satisfying experience. My fiance and I walked in and were not greeted by the two associates. No big deal....however after looking at the pants rack for several minutes I had a question about the different styles. I had to approach the two associates who acted like I was rude for interrupting there conversation to ask a question. The store had two people in it and it was difficult to get a little help...I finally went to pay for my pants and asked if they give law enforcement or military discounts and the lady assisting me acted like I insulted her, and said "no." After informing her I received a discount on my previous visit she stated that it was probably someone higher up than her or the associate helping me on the previous visit probably asked for the discount. By this point I assumed she was not going to inquire about the discount for me .... For a company that claims to be so pro- law enforcement and military I didn't think my question was that far out of line. Anyways, based on the customer service at this location I will not be returning. I love 5.11 products even though they are overpriced and I will give the company the benefit of the doubt, however I may choose to look elsewhere for my gear with another experience like this. read more

5.11 makes allot of high-quality gear. I've bought it online for years, but only recently went in this retail store. i was really disappointed to find they did not have any heavy winter-weight jackets or parkas, such as their 5-in-one or 3-in-one. They also do not stock the 5.11 pants or belts I have been buying for years. What's the point of having a brick-and-mortar store if your customers can't see some of your most popular items? This store could do much better for the company and its customers if it stocked a broader range of items. Similar stores like The North Face have been stocking and selling their Winter cold-weather items for at least two months that I know about. Maybe these guys have a SALE on their warmer weather stuff and stock cold-weather stuff. In these days of great Internet stores with great prices and selection, the one thing these stores having going for themselves is having items on-hand for people to see and take home. True, the helpful store staff repeatedly offered to special order things for me, but Amazon and LA Police Gear will deliver the stuff to my house. They should at least have a small variety of sizes and colors from the missing products if they really expect people to special order so much. I can also go to Sports Authority about three doors down in the same parking lot and find a store full of well-made gear by Columbia, North Face and Under Armor, to just name a few brands The 5.11 staff are very helpful. It's a shame 5.11's stocking policies have placed them at such a disadvantage. I hope this will change, because otherwise I can't see how'll they'll stay open and I'd hate to see them close. read more
