Uh.... hell nope!!! I miss Michelle!!!! I've been going there for years!!! It just dawned on me earlier in 2020 that Michelle sold it... I was extremely disappointed but was still going because I live around the corner and the Post Office is usually always busy. Today I was like yeah no, I'll suffer through the Post Office line to avoid rudeness. A female employee made a mistake and put one wrong number for the address I was shipping too, the box was sent back to me. I wasn't even tripping but definitely didn't expect to pay for postage again since it wasn't my fault. I went in and explain the situation. I usually give my phone to them so they can look at the address, but it's Covid and wanted to avoid all that. Immediately, the guy was giving me attitude! Really? I was cool and calm, just wanted the issue to be fixed and go about my day. "Well, it's store policy for customers to check the address and take a picture, did you do that?" "Who was the employee that was helping you?? What did she look like??" I feel sorry for the employee.. I wasn't even trying to throw her under the bus, it's a mistake! And she didn't ask me to take a picture, didn't even think nothing of it, was in a rush. Second issue was an employee not knowing what to do... I went in to ship something and she kept changing the price! "Oh, sorry, it's actually this..." "oh no, it's really this price" ??? Really y'all... get it together. My mom stop mailing stuff from there awhile ago and said the atmosphere is off and not friendly, but no I see what she means. Plus they charge more anyway. This place is the best. The owner is great and so is the staff. You can tell She treat her staff nice. It is a real small place. But they have mail boxes, package storage place (behind the counter), greeting card, a little bit of basic supplies, and of course a few copy machines as notary services. Every one that works there is a notary. So where it is open there is a notary. I live in Whittier now. I waited till I came back to Long Beach to come to fourth street postal, My favorite store for this kid of stuff to get something notarized. I cane not say enough, they are so nice. I would never go to the UPS store for this stuff they are so knowledgeable here. It's not just some kids hourly. Parking is not alway easy. But, I have always found one during the day time. Shipped two boxes (heavy) via USPS to overseas, and one of them was returned for an unknown reason. We took it back to this store since they helped us with the shipping. The owner was very efficient in searching the label (from two weeks ago), repackaged it so that the box can be re-shipped. We almost gave up because it seems endlessly cumbersome, but the owner relentlessly helped us! It was a successful mission, and now we hope that USPS delivers. read more

$9.34 to scan a COUPLE of my documents that I printed myself to my own email. Guess what happens when I get home to check my email? The documents I paid $9.34 to scan, has a black line down EVERY single one of my pages. They didn't even bother to check the clarity of my documents before charging me $9.34 for what took them less than 2 minutes. Bruh. I would send a picture of how bad the scan was, but it's confidential. Im just shocked they would charge me so much for lackluster effort. Go to your local Office Depot lol. read more

I love this shipping shop! 4th Street Postal has always provided quick packing and shipping services, they stay stocked on a variety of box sizes, and they try to help you find the cheapest shipping option whether it's USPS, UPS or FedEx. In the past when I needed just a little filler material, and they had extra packing material that was going to be tossed anyway, they offered it to me at no cost. (Thank you so much!) They also have packing material for purchase, but I really appreciate the eco-friendly, thrifty option when available. They also just set up a really cool collection of locally designed greeting cards that are hard to resist if you love sending snail mail. read more

I have used 4th Street Postal for a variety of services. They served as a notary for a VW class action lawsuit, they took my passport photos, and I've shipped several things with them. They've always been friendly, fast, and do a great job. However, I decided to write this review because of how amazing they were in helping me deal with what would normally be a frustrating experience. I recently sold an iMac on eBay - I took it to 4th Street Postal where they handled it and packed it with care - the packaging was absolutely bullet proof and it was sent off. When the computer arrived, it was as if Fedex had dropped it down a flight of stairs - it was completely damaged. Fortunately the owner, Michele, absolutely crushed it and was so helpful in resolving the issue. Pictures were taken and I sent them over to her - she immediately started to work on the issue and was super responsive, fast, and of course amazingly helpful and friendly. The issue was completely resolved in under two weeks. I was absolutely astonished. As long as I live in the area, I will use 4th Street Postal. Wow what a difference a year makes. The door handle, glass and the framing near the lock is filthy where peoples hands have rubbed near opening it. The last two times I've been there the girl has been extremely sick. It's been over a week. Please it's such a tiny space. Pay your employees to stay home. I've also heard it from other people who are older and don't feel comfortable going there now. She was clearly having a hard time keeping her snot in and touched all my packages ewww. I am now reading that Michelle sold this place, NOW it all makes sense. I had an account here for many years for a PO BOX, I'm so glad I closed it before she sold. The last time I came before today was to pick up a package that the company had not changed the address, a small one at that. I was reminded on the phone and in person multiple times that there was a $5.00 pickup fee, each time I said "sure no problem", then I got there and asked for my package as I was already taking my wallet out to pay him and he said "yeah well for $5.00!" Wow! What part of "no problem" didn't you get? Do you see I'm taking out my wallet? Today I went to send some packages and there was some difficulty with the gentleman which according to the descriptions in the other reviews is the owner. Likely the mask muffled my ability to talk but even if it didn't the response is not "that's not what you said!" It's "I'm sorry can you repeat that, maybe I didn't hear you correctly?" Then I even showed him my license with my address and he STILL got it wrong so what's the excuse now? "Well now I have to enter it all over again!" The last straw was I brought my own packing materials, shredded paper, and I was struggling with the bags, Michelle's team would have immediately helped me. A small amount of it dropped on the sidewalk, I immediately apologized and he shot me a "look", I offered to sweep it up and he ignored my offer rather than saying "we'll take care of it these things happen" which is what Michelle's crew would have done. I got reprimanded again in the store in front of other customers and staff when I tried to use the packing materials. I don't mind paying for packing materials but I had all this stuff sitting at home so I brought it just to make it easier and recycle honestly. "Don't get it all over the place!" So there I am picking up the few shreds from the floor. I paid for the shipping of my package and the fees I mean I have never not paid them or any small business and I tend to overtip honestly. I mean seriously I want to support small business and I have referred so many people who usually rave about it afterwards but not the last few people I referred now I know why. I supported Michelle for many years but this is nonsense, I get better treatment at the post office and the UPS store in Seal Beach, much better! read more

This review is long overdue. I needed to fax something urgently, so I went to 4th Street Postal. Michelle tried to fax the document multiple times, but the number was busy. I had family visiting from out of town and we were on our way to Hollywood for the day. Because she didn't want our day to be delayed, Michelle offered to keep keep trying throughout the day. She kept me updated on the progress - the fax number was busy, but she kept trying (more than 20 times). Once the fax finally went through, Michelle called to let me know. She went above and beyond! i needed a new passport picture taken and to mail off my application for a passport, so came here since they could do it all. i had read so many positive yelp reviews and everyone was right about this place! there's no parking lot, so we just parked around the corner in the neighborhood and walked over. we were warmly greeted and taken care of quickly. they took my picture and since i didn't like the first one, let me take a second one. i appreciated that since i'm going to be stuck with this picture for 10 years! they then printed out a label to mail off my application, made sure i had everything, and provided me with a tracking number. it was so quick and easy - i was impressed with my experience. everyone was so friendly here. i also noticed that they have po boxes here which i might sign up for. read more

There's a reason they have so many good reviews. They're amazing! Super fast, really nice, extra helpful, and independent. Michelle just saved me 30 dollars by shipping my package FedEx instead is USPS. I would not have known to do that, and I didn't want to spend the time trying to get different shipping quotes from providers. So that's significant savings with minimal effort. AND they finished taping up my package for me after I ran out of tape at home, with no extra charge. And they did all this in under 10 minutes. You wouldn't get this service at the post office. Go here whenever you can. I love so much that this exists. I hate the misery of the post office, and this place feels cheery and local. Stopped by this store to get my passport photo taken. The staff is extremely friendly and the photos turned out great!! I wanted a digital copy of the picture as well, which they happily provided. And then they even offered their laptop to check the file and said I could call them if I have trouble accessing it at home! Highly recommend this place ! read more

Excellent customer service. Have been a customer for over a year and couldn't be happier. They send you emails when a big package arrives. I order my pet food through Chewy.com and sometimes the deliveries are heavy. When staff is available,they carry it to my car for me. I was in a hurry and I needed to fill out some paper work and then make copies. But to my surprise they had a small desk work space with everything I needed. So I didn't have to buy a pen, white out and pay to use their stuff. It was already set up for free! Plus the dude was very helpful and nice too. I'm glad I didn't go to a big chain store. Came in today. Met Michelle and Evan. They were super nice and helpful. I just moved into the area and was looking to ship something by the cheapest option but with tracking. Evan helped me print out the labels. Michelle rang me up and took my pennies away from me since my total came up to be $5.06. They have many envelopes and boxes in a variety of sizes. Custom boxes for vinyl and oddly shaped items. They do photo passports, copies, and fax. They sell a bunch of gift items. They have cluster boxes where you can rent. Parking is bit of a hassle. I found out the hard way moving to Long Beach. Will return. read more

4th Street Postal has been a great service to my wife and I for a couple of years. I am writing this review just to say that it's great to have them take care of our mail as we now live abroad in Europe. We use 4th Street Postal to have all of our mail that is relevant in the U.S. sent to them, and they work with us both online and on the phone to sift through it, find the important stuff, and send it out to us asap for very reasonable rates.
