Her selection of clothing and other merchandise for sale in her shop were very well chosen (timeless, classics, vintage, hip, trendy etc), on her part. Mimi was a class act! The new owner can be somewhat rude at times. And the selection of clothes and items are not so hot anymore. She is kind of greedy. My experiences with her have not been so great. And the new owner moved and where she moved is awful....hardy any parking spaces and everything is packed so tight, it's hard to shop. The new shop is extremely smaller in size and the set up of the store in general was unorganized. Merchandise was clump together tightly packed, doesn't flow and it just seemed cluttered and some merchandise not easily accessible at all. The new owner should not have moved, BIG BUSINESS MISTAKE. I think she hurt herself by moving. So many people I have chatted with are very disappointed by her move as well and how she treats people poorly. Mimi had a great successful popular shop and the location was perfect. Wished new owner didn't make so many changes. If the wheel wasn't broken why fix it or make so many unnecessary changes. This is the second shop for this new owner. Her first boutique failed and it use to be right next store to Mimi's. After her first boutique failed, her and Mimi worked out things where she (the new owner) would take over and be the new owner at Mimi's. Some changes were fine. I get the new owner wanted to eventually change the name of the shop and make some changes, but moving was a big mistake. I needed shoes for lyrical, jazz, ballet, and pointe. Shoes only last at most a year, so I was here often. They have a great selection of different types of shoes so you can find the one that fits you best. They are also very knowledgeable. When I needed my first pair of pointe shoes I was so excited. Only dancers will understand.... I came here and they sat me down and looked at my feet, measured them, had me stand and get into different ballet positions. They had me try on many different styles and brands. They kept encouraging me to take my time, move around in the shoes, etc. I was there for awhile, it was a process, but I appreciated it because I came out with a great first pair of shoes. They even set me up with the right kind of padding and tape, and showed my mom and I how to sew on the elastic and ties. It also always smells good in here..just a side note.

The first time we went in we were never greeted and when someone did eventually come over to help us it seemed that we were inconveniencing her when asking questions. We left that day with written prices and item numbers. We went back the following week to purchase all six suits. Long story short, since the lady we had previously spoken to was not there at the time we had to deal with another employee. This gentleman quoted us 3 different prices in a matter of 20 minutes. We ended up waiting for the lady, who was the manager, to get in for her shift and when we showed her the paper with the pricing she told us that we were wrong and she never would have quoted us those prices! Unbelievable since we had her written information to prove it. The lack of customer service was atrocious. I sent an email to corporate regarding our experiences...it was that bad. I would give this store zero stars if I could. I hope no one has an awful experience like we did. We ended us buying our suits elsewhere...somewhere that knew what customer service was.

Keeping in mind their normal prices are out of my league I felt I got a good deal. I felt similar when I took advantage of MW's bogo sale. This location has more of a dressy selection of clothes versus MW. I prefer the choices of dress shirts here; the fabric and fit are terrific. The pant/slacks are also excellent quality. They offer free tailoring although they don't advertise it (why?). I don't know that it's free 'lifetime' tailoring like MW, perhaps that's why (they don't advertise it.) JAB salespeople were not as aggressive as MW but also a shade less helpful. In either case I'm not calling those negatives since everyone has different shopping preferences. It's just my observation. If I need more dress clothes and they have a sale I'd come back.
