    these reviews are lies. i could go on for days but I'll just say...check their BBB reviews before purchasing. They are liars and scammers.

I live in a modest 2-bedroom apartment and my utility bills average around $250/month, which is significantly higher than my friends and family who live in similar or even larger spaces. On top of that, Champion made a huge mistake by submitting a disconnect request on the wrong meter. This left me without power for 24 hours while the other 400+ units in my building still had electricity. They tried to brush it off as a "power outage," but Encore had to come out and replace my meter to fix the issue. Champion Energy did absolutely nothing to correct their error or make it right. Between the outrageously high bills and the complete lack of accountability, I would strongly caution anyone against signing up with Champion Energy Services.

Please don't let anyone trick you into signing up with them. I made my first mistake signing up with them in July 2019. They have a semi-decent "base pay" (~$58-68 per 1000 kwh) but their surcharge is ridiculous (20 cents per kwh after 1000). It's super easy to go over 1000 in Texas in the summer months so it drives up your bill significantly! I recalled to renew my contract with them under the impression I was going with a new plan. (5.8c per kwh flat) I had called customer service to ask if it was 5.8 cents per flat and they had a ROUNDABOUT WAY OF ANSWERING. I literally asked "Is this 5.8 cents per kwh no matter how much" before I got cut off with her answering "Yes, so this is going to be the same plan as you currently have just locked in at a cheaper rate for 4 years." Notice how the customer service said "yes" to my question but then switched to saying it was my same plan! TLDR; They still are charging 20 cents per KWH after 1000. Talking to their customer service is even worse than dealing with their horrible rates. I literally would have been satisfied with continuing my contract as is if they had helped alleviate my bill for ONE MONTH (out of a 48 month contract) but it was so hard talking to them. Please don't sign up with them!

I just signed up again (FREE NEST THERMOSTAT) for the third time, and I'm usually one of those folks that's on powertochoose.org website rooting around for the best rates every time I'm for renewal and I haven't had to do that anymore. I was a bit hesitant in the beginning due to some bad reviews, but it looks like those reviews are from folks who aren't reading the fine print or renewing prior to their contract being up and their rate changing for being out of a contract. Every single person I've ever had when I called on the phone was beyond helpful and nice, and that REALLY RARE these days! I tell everyone about Infinite, and I'm one picky chick! HAHA!

They reached out…read moresaying they were contacted by our realtor, when in fact they received our information from a company I was considering for home insurance, Clay Paul. The company reached out saying I would receive a gift card for setting up a phone call with them. We set up the phone call, the business seemed shady and we were right not to use them to set up utilities, or give him any further information. They tried to say we were not told we would receive a gift card but when I sent the screenshots showing they did in fact say we would receive a gift card for setting up a call they said they would be sending it. Weeks later I receive a notice that my electricity has been transferred to a different provider and right on the notice it said Utility Bellhop. I called Bobby, the owner and he stated it was a mistake on Iron Horses part, that they used the wrong list and they were reversing it. He then said my gift card was in transit and I should receive it in 10-15 business days, but once we got off the phone he sent it to me electronically. When I called Iron Horse about the electricity they stated Bobby is a liar and gave them our information as a customer. Needless to say Bobby has told countless lies and just keeps telling more and more trying to save his failing business. Now after writing a review he has started harassing me via text message.
