Fun and lively place. They said 1 hr wait. Had halibut fish n chips and it was good. Very crowded and many young people. It's one of the few places near the hotel. Things close early here. Not much to do after 7 or 8 pm. $30+ meal.

Excellent spot. Don't miss it in Anchorage. Great food, service, drinks. Friendly staff. Great decor.

Came in just for snacks and to try their beer. Great stuff all around! Food was good as was the beer. Lots of seating everywhere. Three big screens that I remember, all playing sports. It's a good time here!

Pretzel 10/10

I've been coming to 49th State for lunch, dinner, drinks, and events for quite a while and have usually enjoyed the atmosphere, especially the rooftop. Unfortunately, the last two times we visited, the service experience was really disappointing. We waited around 25 minutes on the very top rooftop without being helped or checked on, and eventually ended up leaving both nights. My boyfriend went up after 30 minutes and requested to be attended to. I understand places get busy, but being completely unattended for that long was frustrating. I still think the location and vibe are great, which is why this was so disappointing. Hoping service improves because this used to be one of our go-to spots. We did go to the beer garden and got a pretzel and beer before we left but hope to go back and experience the rooftop.

The food was awesome and the place is decorated nicely. The service could have been a little better due to the fact it took forever for the server to bring our to go containers. I will say their Wedge salad was pretty darn tasty. Their sandwiches come with fries but you don't get a bunch of fries. One of our guys has the salad and to add a skewer of steak the cost was $19 which I thought was rather steep. Overall the food was really good, I would definitely come back. For me a burger or sandwich would be for 2 meals. I did get the steak sandwich and that was really tasty.

Great night at the 49th State. Enjoyed our visit, albeit it was Valentine's Day. Found a couple seats at the bar for the 3 of us business travelers. The place was pretty full up, families, couples, etc. serious buzz in the place. The team behind the bar, was amazing. Laura was our person, did an awesome job of helping us and really engaging with us. We all ordered something different. Fish & Chips, Chicken Strips, Flat bread. All of the entrees were awesome. Good sized portions, did not leave hungry. Thank you Laura (and team), we really appreciate you!

My coworker and I dropped in for a late lunch at 49th State Brewing, and we were honestly impressed from the moment we walked in. It's a nice, welcoming establishment with plenty of space, and parking is available across the street, which made things easy. Our waiter was extremely kind and friendly. He walked us through the specials, offered recommendations, and brought over a drink menu. We each ordered a drink, I went with a local stout that reminded me of Guinness, just much tastier and smoother. Definitely something I'd come back for. We mentioned that we were in the mood for halibut, and our waiter immediately recommended the panko-crusted halibut, saying it was his personal favorite. He was right. The dish was outstanding--tender, perfectly cooked halibut with a crisp panko crust, served with a mash red-potato and drizzled around the plate was a light white lemon cream sauce. Everything complemented each other perfectly. One of the best halibut plates I've had in Anchorage. We wrapped up our late lunch with dessert: a bread pudding and a blackberry crème brûlée. The bread pudding was warm, perfectly cooked, and served with a rich cream sauce that pulled it all together. The crème brûlée was delicate with a subtle blackberry hint that enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. Overall, fantastic service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in Anchorage.

Amazing! Restaurant gets packed with patrons on weekday evenings. Must be HH calling or be in the happening spot! Female server provided top notch recommendations. Very accommodating and forward thinking. She exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond in customer service. Ambiance is more upscale. You're welcome to dress comfortably considering or factoring weather. Bring your appetite for Parmesan and Asiago Crusted Halibut. Tasted fresh and outstanding! Lightly breaded crust on outside with soft, moist halibut on the inside. Garlic smashed potatoes were divine! Loved the 49th State's Premium Lemonade with strawberries and thyme. Felt and tasted like a mocktail. Mixologist took lemonade and elevated this beverage to a whole new level. I'm not able to comment on the flight of four beers from lightest to darkest. I let my Tito enjoy it all for the evening. My Tito finished all of his beers. Walking distance from free metered parking after 5 PM in downtown Anchorage. Restrooms located inside the restaurant. Highly recommend to all visitors and residents, plus order food with shape of AK state symbol. Worth visiting!

Great service, with a great variety of food for our large group buffet lunch. Had a little of everything...salads, salmon, chicken, fish, and I have to say everyone went back for Mac and cheese seconds, of all things! Gorgeous decadent desserts-many took at least three. I didn't, because I wanted to taste test all the unique varieties of sodas brewed down the street- sales of which overtook the beer sales, actually! And each special can had their own caloric content;)! Birch, ripe raspberry, blueberry cream, cloudberry, and I didn't even get to try the sparkling waters. All included in the lunch! The brewery is responding to the demands of the times for non alcoholic options and they are killing it! We were set up downstairs in a private room which has its own bar and restrooms. Highly recommended party venue!!!!

Buffalo burger with tater tots

TL;DR: I came here alone but it looks like a great place for group gatherings for sports and food. Buffalo burger is legit good. I was in Anchorage for business trip and found this unhidden gem on yelp. I say that because this is the second time coming here and it's always packed. So that's good right? Since I can alone they out me at the bar or on a shared table with other small parties because it seems like the tables are reserved for larger groups. The place is busy what seems like all the time. Las time I had fish n chips which if your in Alaska it should be pretty good fish and it was. But this time around I went with the waiters recommendation and went with the Buffalo Burger with tater tots. I've had buffalo burger before but this nine was much tastier and had and was so messy like a good big burger should. It was good and with jalapeños and cheese it was on point. Highly recommend this place and you have to try the buffalo burger or fish n chips. The guy next to me had nachos and they were piled high and look good too.

Blankets for everyone!

Our party of four arrived as soon as they opened and since it was a nice day we opted to sit on the patio. They have blankets available at every table for every seat, it is AK after all! The menu for food and beverages offers a lot of choices and everything was delicious.

I would definitely recommend the 49th in town. NOT THE AIRPORT location. The downtown location is lively and yummy. They are very busy all the time so go early if possible. I loved to cucumber infusion drink and the crab stuffed poppers. Wedge salad is fab. Fun place. I would really like to go in the summer when the outdoor area is warmer.

Had such a lovely experience here. The food was flavorful, the service was friendly, and the space felt cozy and welcoming. I also appreciated the non-alcoholic choices. Definitely a place worth visiting

Great food and service. I will definitely be going back before my trip is over. The cost is reasonable for what you get as well.

Between its sweet, modern vibe, HUGE rooftop beer garden, and delicious options on tap I could easily have spent several hours here tasting my way through the menu. Alas, there wasn't time for a lengthy visit, so I sipped on a pint of their crisp, fresh Czech-style pilsner while gazing out at the beautiful mountains surrounding this amazing city. In cooler weather, they also have outdoor fire pits which looked like a ton of fun. Inside, there was plenty of seating amongst the brewery apparatus. And, while the beer line was long, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. This stop is definitely one to add to your beer list when traveling in the area!

In fact Alaska in general thus far I have enjoyed the breweries there considerably. The beer I had from this brewery was the Panty Peeler which is a Belgian Tripel. A good beer for sure and is a good pairing with fish and chips or a burger. Flavor highlights with this beer are sweet, strong and fruity but all in a well balanced way. The beer goes down smooth and is light bodied. A good beer to start for me with this brewery. I'd loved to try more of their beer options. This brewery blocked me on Instagram…read more Before I headed there last night for a dear friend's birthday and I wanted to check to see if there would be a foodtruck. They kept not coming up in the IG search results...weird. I initially was worried they went out of business because it said their IG page was down. I warned the birthday girl that maybe that had suddenly closed and joked "unless I'm blocked, lol" to which she replied "they blocked you!" So weird and so sad. Never in my 267 brewery reviews on Yelp has a brewery blocked me from their IG. (that I know of, lol) My only interactions with them on IG are to re-share their reels so my friends know what beers they have on tap or what food truck is out front. I guess if I had to guess it would be that my 3-star review about their being the only brewery in Anchorage that doesn't allow you to taste their beer first must've struck such a nerve that they researched to find what IG account is connected to my Yelp account, and then blocked me. Really disappointing, I always thought the owner/brewer seemed cool but I guess he has thin skin. Their Anchorage-style Pilsner is still one of the best beers in town, hopefully I'll get a pint tonight. Last night I had a west coast IPA and a Cold IPA. Both were good. The fact that you have 3 different IPAs on tap combined with a 3 drink limit by the state of Alaska...really speaks to why tastes are helpful. Still the worst name of any brewery. It sounds like a Temu beer kit that makes murky booze your friends pretend to like.
