Maybe it was just an off day or something but I stopped here to grab a quick snack for lunch in between beers and tried the special of the day meatball sandwich. Overall, meh. It was actually on the cold side, given it was cold outside I didn't expect a scalding hot sandwich but luke warm would have been nice. The flavor was decent but I'll pass next time I see the truck.

Our visit to 402 BBQ left a little more to be wanted. They were set up at the Mastercraft building in N. Downtown, and there was a little craft fair going on at the time as well as live music and an "open house" for some of the business there. We wanted to try as many things as we could on the menu between the two of us, so we ordered the brisket and pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese on top, and sausage/brat with mac and cheese. Perhaps we got there just a little too late, but the food was luke warm when served to us and seemed like the end of the day type service too. The speed was also surprising, I was handed my meal to me immediately as I was paying. Almost TOO quickly. I understand it was BBQ but that was too fast. As far as the brisket and the pulled pork- A OK! Nothing to write home about but certainly not bad in the least. The sausage/brat was just a disappointment to me, I thought the casing was rubbery and not snappy, and the temperature was too cold for my taste. I'd give it a try again, but this time I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.

402 BBQ Food Truck visited my work neighborhood today. I enjoyed the heck out of it! Thought it was all pretty solid - kind of made my afternoon. Went 1/2 brisket 1/2 pork sandwich on a Rotella's hoagie and a side of cheddar jalapeno corn bread. Sweet Bourbon sauce was a nice addition. Staff processed a decent crowd quickly. If they park near your work, it's worth a short walk.

Food vendor at my workplace though they serve indoors rather than from the truck. They serve brisket, pulled pork, a combination of the two, and smoked turkey on a fresh Rotella's roll. Sandwiches are $5-7 each. Serve yourself handmade sauces include a sweet, a tangy, a hot and an "Alabama white" that I've never seen before. After trying a few, my personal favorite is the turkey sandwich with the white sauce at the recommendation of the server. BBQ Mac & Cheese is their side specialty. It is pretty good but rather oily so I've opted for the small on the occasions I've ordered it. They are available for catering and private events.

Not too shabby and not quite a 4 in my book, but let's round up today. Decided to try this out as they were in a parking lot near Memorial Park for the annual 4th of July show. As it was the 4th of July weekend, what better way to celebrate being a 'Merican than over indulging in some serious food. That said, I had to try out 'The Cadillac'. Brisket, pulled pork, Mac n cheese piled high on a hoagie bun, and of course I topped it off with their Hell's Pit BBQ sauce. It was served nice and hot and with a fork! Expect this to be a bit messy, but worth it in the end. Overall the meat was tender and sauce had a nice kick. Not my favorite BBQ in town, but better than any chain joint and a few of the other brick and mortar places. If you see them around, check em out!

I liked the rojo and verde but they had other kinds too. Any place with good birria tacos will make me a fan, and they have me! The consommé was rich and the cheese plentiful. My husband loved the street tacos. They don't have drinks but they have aguas frescas and horchata. The horchata was so good I didn't really even miss having a marg with my tacos. Service was quick and so great. We had the food delivered to the table and when I went up to order a churro at the end, they didn't even have me wait in line for it, they just put the order in and said I could pay on the way out. I loved that since it's an order and pay at the counter situation. Loved the decor and the casual vibes, and I seriously love that the mascot is a cute pup, they have a picture of them behind the counter!

This turned out to be fortuitous, since we had excellent Mexican food at the tiny El Churro storefront. It's very cheerful inside, a direct contrast to the bar next door, and as it happens, El Churro can deliver their food next door if you want adult beverages. We opted to stay put. The menu is easy to read, posted in large print across the front of the ordering counter. There's also a chalkboard listing specials. I opted for a bowl, and Big Bro went with a quesabirria plate of 3 tacos. He pronounced it "muy delicioso" but thought it a bit overpriced for the serving size. I ordered a bowl which had rice, beans, lettuce, crema, and a choice of protein. I chose sweet potato as my protein, even though it is a carb, but it fitted in deliciously with the other ingredients. It may have also had tomato and cilantro. I thought it was great. Big Bro had horchata, and I opted for water but there's also a cold drinks case with soda and bottled water. Even though it's called El Churro and there are several varieties of churros, we decided not to indulge. There's a serve-yourself bin of warm tortilla chips with four different kinds of sauces going from very mild to very hot. We discovered this on our way out, so Big Bro grabbed a basket to go. They also have a burger on the menu that appears to be an add-on homage to O'Leaver's. I recommend skipping the bar next door and coming here instead.

I ordered the chicken vindaloo and the gobi Manchurian. The chicken vindaloo had really good spices and flavor. The chicken however was a bit on the dry side. Now the Gobi Manchurian made all the difference. It was cooked to order. Spicy with a little crunch (I ordered take-out, so it may have been crunchier had it not had a lid and condensation). First time trying it and I will definitely try to make my own version since there's no Indian cuisine in my area. I'm happy I stopped by. I would gladly return in the future when I'm in town. Highly recommend if you like Indian or just want to try something new.

The only thing they got right? The Coke -- perfectly chilled. Everything else was disappointing. The rice tasted stale, like it had been sitting around way too long. The butter chicken had zero flavor -- no seasoning, no depth, just bland sauce with what looked like a few boiled chunks of chicken thrown in. For something labeled "spicy," there was absolutely no heat. The naan was just okay, but definitely not "butter naan." Dry, no butter, nothing special. This felt like the bare minimum effort across the board. Would not order again.
