This place is a jewel! We are in the area for the weekend with some very picky eaters. The atmosphere is very quaint and cute with small tables and booths. Black and white check tablecloths are so cute and the decor is not overdone. The staff are friendly and attentive. And, the food was amazing. We had breakfast and chose from a nice selection of entrees. The food was so good my 13-year old granddaughter left the tip. Trust me, this is a big deal. Will definitely come back again. Maybe tomorrow!

Great home-cooked meals, great people, and friendly service. I love this local establishment.

So, we stumbled on this place accidentally and it was quite possibly the best stumble we have ever made. The food here is off the chain! I could dedicate an entire page to their biscuits. Honestly they are the best biscuits I have ever had. They don't need butter, or jelly, or gravy, or anything else. They are absolute perfection just as they are! Everything on the menu has been amazing so far. Try the apple walnut cake too if you're a dessert eater. SO good!! The service here is so very friendly too. Our server was on top of everything and gave us a beautiful smile to boot. Sure is a change of pace coming from the city where everyone is going a million miles an hour and is grumpy all the time. This is down home, feels like family, mom or grandma's cooking at it's best. My only complaint is that they aren't open every day of the week. A girl needs her biscuits on Mondays too! ;)

This is my favorite breakfast place in all of east Texas. The omelets, pancakes, all of it is perfect.

I've eaten here several times and really enjoy the food and the service. A quiet little home cooking restaurant.

The food & service here were beyond excellent. We ordered bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeno…read morewrapped in bacon as an appetizer. So good! My husband ordered the Catfish Platter &I ordered the Shrimp Platter. We shared so we both got some of each. The Shrimp was perfectly cooked & seasoned. We both agreed that the Catfish was the best we had ever had. The only negative to the whole experience was the noise level. We were close to each other but could not begin to speak to or hear each other. They need to work on acoustics. We will go back for sure, even with the noise. It would have been a solid 5 stars if it were not for the noise.

Absolutely a horrible experience on mothers day. First time here and will be our last. Was told…read moreto order at the bar. So we did. Came from athens btw... waited an hour for our food with 2 hungry kids that became very hangry. Went in to check on it and the guy said he still had to hungry. And was then told we should have ordered at the front. People arriving after us ordered, sat down, ate, and left. Asked for a full refund and waited for them to contact the owner after originally being told I had to wait for the owner or we could go and they could call me. Also originally charged for Ozarks 1 liter bottles of water that they don't carry and all the bottles are smaller sizes. Buzzer went off as we left. We left it all. Absolutely ridiculous!

It's not a huge place, but they have a back room that can accommodate med /large family gatherings…read more It's rustic inside but welcoming and comfortable. The home cooking is great! From the fried catfish, to the massive chicken fried steak, we all enjoyed our meals. They also have several different kinds of cobbler available.

My grandmother and grandfather recently moved to the area and they are always raving about this…read moreplace. So we stopped for lunch on a Sunday on my way out of town after a weekend visit. The staff is super friendly! The restaurant is a quaint little cafe with a country feel! You can certainly tell that there is some home cooking going on in there. They have a vast menu that includes daily specials and barbecue. If I'm not mistaken, it is the only place serving barbecue in the area. The daily special on Sundays is pot roast. They also had a November special going on for the entire month which was Turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, two sides, and a roll for $10.99. I placed an order of the turkey and dressing meal to go for my husband. I chose black eye peas and okra as the sides. It also came with a roll and turkey gravy. The portion sizes are a bit small. But it was all pretty good. The black eye peas are delicious! I ordered the 2 meat barbecue plate with sliced brisket and smoked sausage, potato salad, and baked beans. It also came with a roll and three barbecue sauces to have on the table. The hot and spicy was my favorite! It was not very spicy but had just the right amount of tanginess that I prefer. The sweet was my least favorite. The original is okay as well. The brisket was smoky and tender but the pieces were a bit small. The sausage was good! The potato salad needed some salt and pepper but was quite good as well. The baked beans were delightful! I do wish the portion sizes were a bit larger. And some onions and pickles on the side would have really been nice! But for $13.99, it was not bad at all! My daughter chose the popcorn shrimp appetizer (which came with quite a large mount in a basket over fries) and the popcorn shrimp salad. She's been on a popcorn shrimp kick lately! The shrimps were huge for being "popcorn shrimp"! The cocktail sauce was delicious! The ranch is also good. The fries were nice and crispy! And her salad was fresh and covered in plenty of shrimp. We chose to take some desserts home as well. We chose cookies and cream pie slice, a mini cherry cheesecake, and peach cobbler. All three were delicious! We will definitely be back to try some other menu options!
