Came here for dinner while staying at the casino. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The wife got the chili cheese fries. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy but could have used a little more seasoning. The mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome. The chili cheese fries were also great. Usually when I order coffee i my cup filled up super full, where is no space for " half and half " or they don't have a honey. Small details is annoying or make you thankful. We came in at closing because google still shows open until 11 but they close at 9pm. I hate doing that to people. However, the staff was welcoming and we didn't know until everyone left that they were closing. It did take a while with the mass exodus to get our drinks and orders in but after ward went well. The portions are huge and served hot and fresh. The fried pickles are next level. Big huge fried pickles with the good house made ranch. Huge thick ham was tender and delicious. The grilled chopped sirloin, or hamburger steak as I call it, was big, and delicious. Brown gravy was standard run of the mill from a can stuff but paired well with the grilled onions and meat. Solid fried shrimp meal as well. We haven't eaten here in years but decided to stop in because of how late it was and thought they would be open later. I think we'll be back more often. read more

Saw waitress helping a senior with phone troubles, one just stopping to have a conversation with an older gentleman who seemed a lot lonely. When we travel down Interstate 40 we always try to include a stop at this out of the way diner. It isn't healthy but it is very good with very good service. We always get pie after our meal.
