It is…read morean old bank building, converted to a sports bar I had the Portobello sliders and a side of steamed veggies, hubs had a Turkey Club and sweet potato fries. The sliders were delish. Came two per order. Each one had a fair sized mushroom, some roasted red peppers and lettuce. The veggies were hot and were green beans, carrots and squash. The sandwich was so large that half came home in a box. The fries were really nicely done and were piping hot and crunchy on the ends. You know how unusual that is with sweet potato fries... as soon as they start to cool off they get soggy. Prices were a little high, but the server Jenny was excellent. Definitely worth a stop if you are in town. It is a sports bar and there were plenty of locals in there for lunch also.

Parking was great, right out front on the road in a great revitalized downtown area. Once inside, the waitress seated me and took my drink order. The menu choices all looked great. I asked for guidance from my waitress and she was very helpful! The special was the chicken fried steak and two sides and it looked good, but Big! Not wanting to eat that much she suggested the prime rib grilled cheese sandwich. Wow I had a salad, sandwich and sweet potato fries. I ate every bite and it was delicious! I would eat it again for sure. Being a sports bar there were plenty of sports to watch. The one thing that did catch my eye was a US flag with 48 Stars. Very cool! If you are ever in the friendly town of Van Buren, Arkansas, I highly recommend eating at The Vault. You will be glad you did. Go get Full

That was a satirical description of a meal called the "Soul Bowl." It can be found on Eunice's menu under Local Favorites. Bless her heart for coming up with this concoction! If you know what I mean. A filling bowl of food. My wife regretted it. Check the picture. Meanwhile back at the ranch....I played it safe, with an order of chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes, all covered with cream gravy. For my side I had a lightly seasoned cucumber salad. This was a very good meal. The name Eunice's Country Cookin' describes the diner well. A menu of American diner food staples, daily specials and those delicious home-made pies. Well, from the beginning it was spot on. Arkansas was playing that day so understandably nearly every TV was on that game. We asked our greeter (more on that later) if we'd be able to change a couple of the probably 60 TVs to US Open tennis and the Boise State - Oregon game. She said of course, and placed us in a perfect location that gave us dedicated TVs that did not impact the other folks watching the Arkansas game. Food was typical bar food fare but cooked very well. Now here (more on that later) is my only issue/suggestion. GET NAME TAGS FOR THE SERVERS! Make them in some sport design (Football, basketball, baseball...)
