Ugh, what a terrible experience. I chose this spot because of the promise on their website "No extra fees!", claiming that every smog check spot will charge extra fees but they won't, all I needed to do was bring $28 cash. Great! Just in case, I printed out the web page. I parked my car and walked into the garage where the man sitting at the desk, with absolutely NO business, was sitting. He completely ignored me until I got right up next to him, when I believe he muttered, "What do you need?" A smog check, sir, sorry for pulling you away from your crossword puzzle. I was very polite as he begrudgingly started the paperwork, telling him that I found him on Yelp and was there for the $28 deal. OH, ACTUALLY, we charge $10 extra for diesel cars. SERIOUSLY? Luckily, I had my handy print-out and courteously showed him the claims made, that the exceptions listed DID NOT include diesel cars. He finally gave me the $28 deal. Ten minutes later, my car was smogged and I was thankfully on my way. They get one star because I got what I came for, plus a headache and a feeling that I was being cheated. Take your business somewhere else. Rude, antagonistic clerk, deceptive business practices. They don't say they don't provide free retests, but they also don't say that they do. Check that when comparing options. Cash only deal if you know the secret handshake, and buy something next door to get the cash. I found the manner of the clerk repugnant, and told him so. He followed me out to continue arguing. Really? The attendant also informed me as he followed me to my car, to continue basically telling me I was stupid, that he had a family member that worked for Yelp that would happily filter my review. I came to this place for a smog check. As I walked up, it sounded like an argument was going on. It was the person doing the smog checks yelling at me for not parking in the right spot. This place is a joke. I had my car smogged here before and paid the "yelp" price $19.75 + certificate price. Called in and asked about their yelp deal which doesn't state anything about "00' vehicle or newer" as their website deal does. The guy over the phone said they "changed smog". Please. I come here almost every week for smog checks because I have lots of friends and families that live here so this is the spot where I pull up to. You seriously cant beat the price of 28 dollars for 2000 and newer smog checks... and thats out the door cash price. That guy Jason is pretty helpful whenever I have car problems Honesty and efficiency are hard qualities to find in a good technician. Went to their web site. Front and center was their $28 price. So my wife went down there, got the car smogged, and came back. They charged her $60! I went back to ask them the next day about it. "That's our 'internet special'. But there was no indication on the web site that $28 was anything other than their everyday price. So since my wife didn't even know to ask for it, they charged her more than double. I asked for the difference back since that seemed dishonest, and the guy basically laughed at me. He was curt, unfriendly, unsympathetic, and basically a d*ck. When I asked how to contact the owner, he said the owners don't accept phone calls. He took my number, and said they'd call me back. Yeah, right. Didn't hear from them. Yes, had I told my wife the advertised price and she specifically requested it, it would have been fine. But nothing about their web site (which I won't list here) said she had to ask. The deceptive, unfriendly, unsympathetic, and unresponsive owners won't get my business again. I was happy to find good reviews for this shop since it's close to where I live. And because I forgot my DMV paperwork so I could retrieve it quickly and get back there. When I pulled in the second time, Jason saw me coming so he had already filled out a portion of his paperwork. Mention Yelp to unlock the $28 rate. I've taken 3 of my family's cars here, including mine, 2 months after the other. Every time I've brought a car here I've been in a rush, and worried that the process would take long. But the longest I've ever had to wait was ~20 minutes with my oldest car and 1 person ahead of me. I've taken cars ranging from 1998 to 2011, and every service has been quick, pleseant, and affordable! I had a problem with these guys around price. I live close by and pass the place every day. For weeks I'd seen a "$29.95 Smog Test" sign in front of the station. I stopped by for that reason. I asked the guy about the price and he asked me where I'd gotten the idea that the test costs $29.95. I told him, "on the sign you usually have in front". Then he told me my car was $10 extra because it was a van. I was in a hurry so I went for the $39.95 test plus the cost of the certificate. I later checked their WEB site and see that cars from 1995 or earlier are $10 extra, not vans. Unfortunately, my car failed the test for some transmission error code - no problem with the emissions. I asked him about the free re-test and he said that because my car had failed he'd just charge me $30 (instead of $40) for the test and another $30 - plus certificate cost - when I came in for the re-test. The wait wasn't long but I don't like having to go back and forth with someone on a price I had seen day after day. I felt like a fool for having been in such a rush to get the test that I didn't walk to begin with. (I didn't go back there for my re-test). Just a couple of hours later that same $29.95 Smog Test sign was back in front of the station. I hate to trash anyone because I know they're just trying to make a buck in these tough times but... the place is probably fine for a smog test but be very sure about the price of the test and the re-test before you give them your car. read more

I called and was assured that this was the price, only to discover that I had missed the fine print about 1995 and older cars. OK, blame me for that, perhaps. This place would have been fine--except the guy did not tell me, when I called up beforehand, that they do not take credit cards! That meant going, waiting, having it done, driving back home to pick up a checkbook, and driving back again to pay. I mean, really... in this day and age, when everyone takes credit cards, he should have let me know. I received a crazy-cheap coupon in the mail for this place at just the right time of year, so I headed over there today. My experience could not have been easier. The guy had a lot of hustle, drove my car carefully, and got me in & out in about 10 minutes! I am surprised the reviews on here are so starkly good or bad. Maybe it matters who is working on any given day? Or maybe they are trying to turn things around after a bad stretch? Got my car smogged here last July. Got pulled over this past weekend because my tags are expired (yeah, probably should have noticed the new ones never got sent to me). Apparently the smog report was never uploaded to the DMV system. I called this place and they said all they can do is print out a report to have me bring to the DMV in person. Um, what?
