I encountered very rude staff. The last time I went there their price was more than the coupon said, so I went somewhere else. This is really not a good place for a smog shop. No extra charges for vans" well they tried to charge $68 for my van. He said I had to have a print out of their site to get the price (which I didn't have) and when I took my registration renewal and started to leave he then gave me the $38.00 price. First I called to book an appointment and he told me it was first come first serve no appointments accepted ( ad on google) says ....Just call before you stop by lock in your spot and bring $28 cash. He says for $28 I said yes, then he gets out of my truck and looks on the side of the door and continues to tell me that it's going to be $10 more because my truck is over weight...here is the AD statement once again....Guaranteed best price smog check anywhere! NO EXTRA fees! for STAR certification, SUVs, trucks, vans like other shops. Read THEIR fine print ( he should read his own) all of them charge extra for trucks, vans, SUVs and STAR. We don't. I then continued to agree to pay the $28 + 10 extra because I already waited and needed to get this done...He was very RUDE and I would advise people to stay away! I'm all about supporting local family businesses but this guy is a JERK. Once I asked him if he owned the shop and for a business card he said " I'm gonna just charge you $28. I must now retract that review because after I called in to complain they later called me back, explain that $25 or so is the coupon special, and offered to refund the difference. So, I came in expect honest and fast service. The woman who manages the small testing area basically tries to lie to you if you come in with a Groupon. You must present the groupon before service, which is fine. But, basically that's a signal to them to lie to the customer to add on a mystery $1.75 to the $8.25 sticker fee. She thinks she was smart by saying it's the cost of electronically transmitting the results to the state, which is 100% bogus. I will be reporting them to the state DMV. She gave me a sheet which says $8.25 but that I am paying $10. Am I giving them a tip or is it their shady unethical way of recovering some of the fees/commission they pay to Groupon? And, hey, it's only $1.75. Of course, I can afford it, if it were real/legitimate. But, it's 100% bogus. Even the fine print of the Groupon says 8.25 additional for the sticker... and nothing about some random/mysterious $1.75 tip for them Read the note on the right side: $19.75 + $8.25 DMV certificate fee = $28.00 TOTAL For passenger cars 2000 and newer.
