Today around noon, I visited Seven Days a Week Smog to have my Cadillac CTS-V smog checked. Unfortunately, my experience with the technician was very disappointing. From the moment I arrived, his demeanor came across as rude and unprofessional. I also spoke with other customers while I was there who expressed similar concerns about his attitude. When it was time to inspect my vehicle, the technician questioned the CARB sticker associated with my aftermarket AIRAID intake. The replacement sticker I received by mail was branded K&N, and I explained that K&N is associated with AIRAID and that this was the sticker provided to me for the intake. I also had documentation with me to support what I was explaining. However, the technician was unwilling to review or consider the information I presented and ultimately refused to proceed with the smog check, telling me to return another day with a different CARB sticker. I understand that smog technicians are required to follow California emissions regulations, but I believe customers should still be treated professionally and given a reasonable opportunity to provide supporting documentation. Based on the technician's attitude, communication, and handling of the situation, I was very dissatisfied with my experience and would not recommend this location. read more

7 Days A Week Smog Test - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Berkeley, California

I came here after the regular smog place I go to couldn't take me. This young man running this place said he could do mine, but he had a few other cars before me and it's be about 30 mins. I parked the car and gave him the keys and went next door for lunch. I came back a little early, and sat under the gazebo to wait. I saw how efficiently he handled folks and how quick he was. He was also very personable too. I didn't have a coupon, but he still have me a little discount. Will come back for my next smog. I can see why this was voted best smog in East Bay. read more

I was in and out in less than 15 minutes today and they were cool with the fact that I didn't have the DMV paperwork. My little Ford passed and I was happy with the service provided by two out of the three guys there ... But the guy running the register was just brusque as hell. I don't know what I expect -- that could just be standard. But it caused me to drop a star regardless. read more

I had a very baffling experience at this smog station and will not be returning. I brought my 2006 Honda Accord in for a smog inspection. The vehicle passed the emissions portion of the test, but the technician stated there was a problem with the catalytic converter because he could not find a part number on it. What made the situation especially confusing is that this is the same catalytic converter that was installed when my vehicle successfully passed a California smog inspection two years ago. No changes have been made to the catalytic converter since then. The catalytic converter had been replaced after it was stolen several years ago, and I already had referee documentation related to the replacement. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring the referee letter with me on the day of the inspection. I was not clearly informed that I needed to provide this letter or that I would be charged an additional fee if I returned with it. When I came back the next day with the referee letter, the original technician was not there. I tried to explain the situation, and it seemed the employee understood what had happened during my previous visit. However, instead of simply reviewing the documentation and the prior test results, he performed another test and charged me an additional $30 plus certification fee. I do care about the extra $30 because I believe it could have been avoided if they had accepted the referee letter and the prior test results. I left feeling that the additional charge was unnecessary and unfair. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and will take my business elsewhere. read more

I had a great experience at this business today! I went to get my Smog check (STAR) and it took only ten minutes and no appointment was required. Thanks Maurece for your professionalism! read more

I didn't notice that I needed to smog my car until the last minute, but this place saved me! Open Sunday, I walked in and the service was quick and easy. They also have a cute spot to sit and wait. And a coupon online for $20 off. Not the cheapest out there, but worth it if you need good service and a Sunday appointment. read more

7 Days A Week Smog Test - Cute outside waiting area. - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Berkeley, California

I drove by and asked for a quote, they replied $99.95 without including the certificate fee. My car is 2010 subcompact car, while all other stores nearby quote me $59 including certificate. So this store charged double. They thought you know nothing. Don't go. read more

False advertising, they are not open 7 days a week. Twice, I've gone on sundays at different times and they were closed.

A pleasant place (there's a cool painting in the garage) with welcoming and authentic people working there. Plus, there's a waiting area in the sun w wooden furniture. I will Go here again. read more

Went in Saturday June 6th, 2026 for a smog check. Got there at 8:30 AM when it opened, but the garage was still closed. Waited alongside three other people for 15 minutes before an employee arrived to open shop. Once open, I filled out a form regarding my car's info and waited in a nice outdoor patio area while I waited for my car to be serviced. There was only one employee working so service was as fast as you'd expect. The smog test itself was quick and I was out of there by 10 AM (I was third in line). They honored a Groupon I found online which saved me some money. read more

This place was awesome! Had a Groupon for a discounted smog, no push back about the Groupon at all. Very welcoming, no one was there when I got there so I was helped right away, there were plenty of places to sit and wait or you can walk around. The technician was friendly and very knowledgeable. I forgot my dmv paperwork and it wasn't a problem at all. Happy I found this place, I'll be going here from now on when I need a smog, and I'll be telling others about my great experience. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable! read more

They told me it would be an hour and they were correct. The guy also applied a coupon in order to lower the price. I'd definitely come back again. read more

Had my smog checked on my vehicle today and drive in, and was greeted by a nice friendly, and helpful girl. It was a clean establishment which had a nice shaded waiting area with clean wooded bench and chairs to sit and wait. The guy who checked my car was friendly and fast. I didn't wait long and I was out within an hour! Would definitely recommend them! read more

Terrible service and rude staff. I've been here twice, and both times the person working was argumentative, rude, and had an attitude problem. The place looks like a dump, and the staff acts like they've got a stick up their ass. I'd rather go somewhere else and pay more than deal with that kind of behavior. Avoid. read more

Highly recommend coming here! I was in and out in 10 minutes as a walk in. The other smog places require an appointment and have a wait, and I was so impressed with the speed and efficiency. They have two stations and don't waste anytime. read more

I found this smog station from Groupon. Smog check is pricey these days, so yes, I looked for coupon. I went on a Saturday morning and he just finished with another customer so he took me in right away. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I liked the efficiency! I certainly recommend this smog station! read more

Why having a open pull to back sign when you don't want to work, this guys don't want your money and have a "nice" attitude, not recommended

Great experience here walking in around noon on a Saturday. They had me out in less than 15 min. Friendly, helpful employee. Indoor waiting area was comfortable (there's outdoor seating as well). Free wifi. I originally purchased a Groupon for Berkeley Smog Test Only Center down the street, but they don't take walk-ins or make day-of appointments, and it's difficult for me to make an appointment several days in advance due to my work schedule, so I much prefer 7 Days A Week Smog Test for talking walk-ins. Will definitely come here again. read more

7 Days A Week Smog Test - Front Desk - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Berkeley, California

It's but the easiest working seven days a week in the busy bay area, but when you meet Mo' his passion, education, and cleanliness shines thru his shop in Berkeley. A genuine dude, friend of the neighborhood, my smog was simple, and done in a timely manner. #supportlocal read more

I have a 26 year old 1999 Volvo S70, which is notorious for failing a smog test. This year, my Volvo failed the smog test on the first try. Then, Kevin, the smog repairman at 7 Day a Week Smog in Berkeley, came to my rescue. Kevin gave me extra tips on how to drive my car around to prepare for coming in for a second smog test. Then for an extra fee, he personally drove my Volvo on a "special" test run drive, & my car miraculously passed the second smog test. In order for Kevin to take your car on a "special" test run drive, you need to arrange to take your car on a day when their are two technicians on duty. If Kevin is the sole technician on a particular day, he cannot leave the station for a "special" test run drive. Thank you, Kevin, for saving me! read more

7 Days A Week Smog Test - Less than friendly service right here -- if you're the owner, reconsider this one. He is costing you. - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Berkeley, California

I found a Groupon deal on smog check for the shop, and I called the shop to confirm that I can use the Groupon for my Porsche 911. The shop said I can use the Groupon but there will be no free retest with the Groupon. Thinking that it should not be a problem with a relatively new car, I brought the car to the shop and was surprised when it wouldn't pass. I was told that some engine monitors (EGR/VVT) needs to be ready to initiate a smog test. I indicated that my car is a weekend car and not driven often, so they told me to put some more miles on it to complete a drive cycle. I drove around that afternoon and brought it back the same day for retest. They scanned the ECU this time to check for EGR readiness before testing, and told me that it still was not ready, and did not charged me, which I appreciated very much. I drove the car around for few more days and brought it back to the shop and was glad the car passed smog this time. From this experience I found the technicians were professional, honest and mostly friendly. I liked that they offer Groupon deals, is opened 7 days a week, and I would use them again for my next smog. read more

PROS: The smog test itself was quick and straightforward. The guys providing the smog test service, itself, were extremely friendly. It cost more to smog an older car like I had FYI (pre-2000). They are open on Sundays. CONS: After the car didn't pass the test the test first try, their mechanic was needed to see what the issue was. He wasn't there that day so I took it someplace else. When I took it to the other place, they told me the car would likely pass if I drove it on the freeway because the car hadn't been driven much for a while. I drove the car on the freeway for about an hour later on that week and brought it straight back to here. Their mechanic was still out, but when he came in he gave me a call and we set an appointment a week out when he was scheduled to come back from vacation. A week later I show up here at our schedule time, but the mechanic wasn't there. I asked the guy who was there if he could call or text him, but he didn't want to. I wound up taking my car someplace else where they do smog and repair, and luckily the car passed this time. I wound up paying for the complete smog test again at this other spot, but it was $30 cheaper. If you're pretty sure your car will pass the smog test, this place is fine. But if subsequent repairs are needed, it might not be worth the hassle. read more

Super speedy, super simple, super professional. There was one guy in front of me and I was in and out in 10 minutes. I'll never go anywhere else! What a breeze. I love that they had a nicely shaded outdoor seating area (or indoor, but I like the extra covid-safety of outdoor seating). I've had my cars smoged there for years. Fast efficient service and low prices at a Star Station.

The service was prompt. I am giving this business a low review because the individual running the register was disrespectful more than once when speaking to me. The employee was condescending and quite frankly rude to my face. I will not be doing business here again. read more

The first mechanic, I'll call him Sourpuss because of his unpleasant demeanor, automatically put me behind several favored male customers who came later than I did. When he ran the smog test on my vehicle and it did not pass, he told me to drive it TEN MILES and come back---- TOTALLY WRONG ADVICE. He then sniped, "Bring the paperwork back or I will charge you again." So I drove it 100 miles and returned later in the week. I got a different mechanic who was NICE and HELPFUL. He hooked up a pre smog test gadget, ran it, and advised me my car was not yet ready and to drive it another 100 highway miles, so I did. The day I returned to get a retest unfortunately day I got the unpleasant unfair condescending mechanic. perhaps the owner? Who else could hold down a job with such a crappy demeanor? I asked him to check my car to see if it was ready. But, he refused to do as I asked. Instead, he hooked up the smog test, then floored the gas petal indefinitely. The results were, the car failed, by a tiny margin. I reiterated that I had asked for the pretest. This mechanic denied that a pretest existed--- even though I had JUST GOTTEN ONE FROM THIS PLACE a few days prior!!!!!!! What a way to do business!!! Probably the only way he can get business is by being open long hours and 7 days a week---- because if he does not like the way you or your car looks, he will try and screw you. Avoid this place! read more

I had my 2005 Audi A4 wagon tested here on Friday, no problem. Today I brought in my '95 Porsche 968. The tech took a brief look at the car from 30' away and said, "We don't do that kind of car here." "I've been bringing this car here for 10 years," I replied. "Then come back on Friday when a different tech is here." "..." I replied. Needless to say I'm posting this from a different shop, and don't expect to be taking any cars to 7 Days in future. Which is a shame, because they've provided excellent service and value until today. read more

8:04AM Wednesday June 2nd - no one is here. Called - no one answered. The sign posted says closed for Memorial Day (which was Monday) and reopening Tuesday (which was yesterday). Waited for about ten minutes before giving up. Super disappointing as I planned my commute around this business' posted hours. Update: employee arrived at ~810am and began opening shop. I left to give him a chance to open up shop for the day without me breathing over him and then came back. The employee working had already completed the first customer's smog check of the day by that time. He was kind and efficient and it took about 20 minutes from start to finish. It seems like they have minimal staffing so plan accordingly - you may not be able to stick to a tight schedule and instead should give yourself some flexibility. Changed review to four stars because of this. Leveraged Yelp coupon for my 2012 Nissan sedan and paid $55. read more
