Service was quick and professional. I purchased a smog test thru Groupon and showed up on a Wednesday. Luckily, there was only 1 person ahead of me, so the wait was very short. read more

Bought a Groupon to smog my Mazda miata because it seemed like a good deal. Came one day to get my car smogged and an obese man turned me away saying that their Dino was down and to come back the next day. So I do just that, I came today and again the same guy just scoffs when he looks at my car and turns me away saying to come back when a smaller person is working because he won't work on a small car. Why hire someone who can't work on all the cars? Or at least give customers a notice that you are unwilling to work with certain makes and models. This was an absolute waste of money and time. Would not recommend. read more

I have an old Honda and 7 days A Week Smog Test in Berkeley has been my go to place for my annual smog test for many years. The service has always been excellent. And they offer both an indoor and outdoor waiting area. On my most recent visit, Aladdin helped me. He went out of his way to be friendly, professional, and informative. If you can love a smog check place, I love 7 Days a Week. Highly recommended. read more

Smog checks are a breeze here. I've brought my cars here at least three times and the process has always been very quick and straightforward. There's a nice little patio area for waiting, and coffee and water as well. They offer a free retest within 30 days if the car doesn't pass, and you get $20 off with with a Yelp coupon (or just mention the discount). I paid $59.95 in December 2021 after the Yelp discount and my car was eligible for the free retest because the car's computer monitors were not ready following a recent repair. read more

Took My car to get smogged here and I have to say anyone looking for a smog i highly recommend this business. Aladdin was the tech that helped me out, he provided me with GREAT SERVICE. The smog was quick with no hassle. He was really helpful, friendly and welcoming, he was able to answer all the questions I had. Workers/Techs like Aladdin is what makes a business like this great!! My Experience was very positive with him so I will definitely come back here in the future when I need another smog, but I will also refer my friends/family to this business and Aladdin. -Oscar read more

Disregard previous review!!! Must be new owner. My rating changed from 5 Stars to 1 Star. I called ahead saying that they had smogged my Prius before, and asked how much these days. Answer, $60. To which I reply 'Oh, that's more than I paid last time.' To which he responds, CLICK! Totally hangs up on me. Well, I had already crossed town to do this so I go on their website as see a beautiful $20 discount coupon. I pull in, the guy is nice as punch. Give him my documents and ask how much, again he says $60. I ask about the coupon and he says that the $60 price already has the coupon discount included. Total gaffer and rude, too. Looking for a new place to do our fleet of vehicles. read more

How they can improve full disclosure Groupon has what they will allow but when you arrive at the location you should be offered the same or explain what's allowed. The costumer should not have to play the guessing game. Also Treat costumers with respect after finishing a car the costumer should not have to wait for no reason. If they have no costumes and they finish the job then someone comes they should finish the costumer they were working on and not make them wait for no reason while they start and finish another car. This is what happened to me and I will never come here again. I live in Oakland and only came here to support a black owned establishment . The worker showed my black money is not welcome there. When they stop helping a black woman to help a white man and smile in his face then start a argument and become confrontational is not necessary. We're living in some strange times hard harden people. Kindness goes a long way. read more

I've been using them for years and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They quick and responsive and cordial. Great work!

Fast easy smog. That's it. Called - they had space. Done! Not sure what else to add. It's a smog place.

Great place to get a quick smog check. Service was friendly and no appointment needed! Best thing was that they were open on a Sunday! I went right when it opened at 10am so there wasn't a wait. Be sure to check in on yelp for their deals! You can wait in the lounge area while they service your car. They have free chips coffee and water! I thought that was a really nice touch! Prices increase if you have an older car. If you car is 1996 or older it's an additional 10 dollars. Also on top of the smog check price they charge everyone 8.75 for a state fee. read more

Incredibly fast and appreciated the yelp coupon. Casual outdoor seating to wait for the smog test. Great service!

Not very busy on a Sunday afternoon which I appreciate since it was the only day that I could come and get a smog check. Had to wait all do 2 minutes before being helped and my car brought back. Friendly staff and quick but thorough work. Gotta love the choice of an outside versus inside waiting area. A bit pricy but between yelp check in coupons and groupon discounts it makes it much more manageable. Will definitely be continuing to come here for my smog checks from now on. read more

The upside is that this smog check station is open 7 days a week and it is difficult to find a smog check location open on weekends, especially on Sundays. That being said, you will pay a premium to have them do your smog check as it is $20-30 more than what other places charge in the area. Personally, I would just wait until a weekday to get my smog check done at a more reasonable price, especially if you have an older vehicle that they also charge more for. (99 and older) read more

I will forever go to this business for all my future smog test. It was quick and efficient. Friendly service. Straight forward and to the point. At the end of my service I realized I didn't have my credit card and they told me to just come back or give them a call when I had my card on me. What happened to this place. ? Been coming here for years. But last couple times customer service brusque virtually rude. What gives? Ignoring me. Like they are barely tolerant of paying customers. Doing you a favor. Well do ME a favor. Lots of competition in the smog world. In fact many options within a few blocks of this place. I'm moving on. Bye. read more

Please Do not take your car here. I would give -5 stars if possible. One particular clerk discriminates against African Americans and women in particular. Deets... I was refused service after waiting for over 1 1/2 hours after despite calling to ask if I could bring my car in. After watching the clerk take a 20 minute break and not inform customers that he was off duty, berate customers, complete 3 cars for Smog check in the 1 1/2, turn away 5 customers (yes I counted- 4 women of color and 1 man of color), complain that he was the only worker on a Sunday I was asked to move my car. I was waiting in my car and there was no parking due to being overbooked. I explained that there wasn't anywhere to park. He then interrogated me and asked me what business I had to be there. Truly a lack of professionalism and a disregard customer service. I know that they're cheap, but businesses like this need to learn that they can't pull power trips and be discriminatory to women based. read more

I got a solid experience, as always, here at 7DaWS. They get my Volvos in and out and on the road again with nice touches like the patio, water and snacks, a computer if you need one... all wrapped up in a clean and fast-moving environment. Thanks for all the help and the efficiency! read more

I have been patronizing this place my last 5 or 6 smogs on two cars. Each experience has been fast and efficient, and their two waiting areas are better than my local pedicurists! The outside area is covered, all wood, and quite zen actually. As it was raining today, I opted to sit inside. Cozy nook area with many magazines, an automatic coffee maker, hot/cold water dispenser, tea bags, condiments, a variety of snacks including small bags of chips, crackers, etc. There was a computer monitor for gamers, but I didn't look at it extensively. There were 3 vehicles being worked on with space for one more so I presumed it would take about an hour. I had brought a book so about page 15, after making a cup of coffee and eating some really great chips as a treat, my car was being pulled up to the exit area. 26 minutes maybe? Yes, about that. Paid, chatted a bit with two of the great staff members who advised that the smog results would be good for 90 days and automatically sent to DMV. If all customer staff and service experiences were this pleasant, yelp would be full of excellent reviews. Just Fantastic!! read more

Super quick and easy! It took only about 20 minutes for the entire process. They have a cute little patio area I could wait at outside. The folks working there were friendly and helpful. Recommend for your smog testing needs! read more

This place is great, I came in early to get my smog checked on a Sunday, there was one man running the shop, and he was amazing. He completed the smog checks within 20-30 minutes and was putting one in after another. Very time efficient, and I noticed he was very attentive to details checking under the hood and everything. In the wait area there is coffee, soda, hot chocolate, and snacks. There was also a computer, and some magazines too. There's even an outdoor patio area! They have a gazebo and a nice patio set up for clients. Overall, great shop! Recommend them to everyone! read more

Easy process, friendly, convenient location and has a indoor and out door waiting area.

If you're already browsing for star station certified smog checks on yelp, you came to the best spot! Although you may have to make a couple of U-turns in the area to reach this location, once you arrive, you will be in good hands. When I arrived, I had my yelp coupon (read: $40 discount), driver renewal paper, and driver's license ready to provide, and that'll be all you need for the first step. They stay true to their policy of no hidden fees and free retest. After confirming and signing the amount that will be charged, you are free to wait in the customer lounge while your car is in smog check. I had one customer ahead of me today and was informed that my wait will be approximately 40 minutes. Thus, it sounds like a smog check typically takes 20 minutes. In the lounge, you can watch the progress of your car while enjoying the lounges many snacks and beverages. This includes cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and water. Additionally, there is free wifi to pass the time, so bring your work along for maximum concentration. If you forgot your laptop, they have you covered with an public computer. Lastly, I found some doggy treats and water bowl outside the lounge. :) Tip: if you had anything done to your engine or battery prior to your smog check, make sure to ask for the mechanic to check before proceeding with a smog check to avoid failing the test. read more

Got right in without appointment. Quick service, plus applied a discount I wasn't anticipating.

I'm very disappointed in the service I received here and it looks like I'm not the only one who has had problems with bringing in an older car. I drove from another county to get my smog done here because they had the best price (via Groupon) I could find even with the added $25 fee for a car older than 1999. They said my truck failed the smog test. I took it to a local mechanic two days later who didn't find anything wrong with it and they ran their own smog and it passed perfectly fine. I called 7 Days a Week Smog for a refund given the circumstances and they refused even after I emailed them the paperwork that proves that it passed. I would've been satisfied with at least a partial refund, but they just stopped responding to me. I couldn't get a refund through Groupon either so I'm out $55 and had to pay for the second smog which was completely unnecessary. If you have an older vehicle, don't go here! They don't run the car long enough to get the catalytic converter sufficiently heated up which will cause your car to fail. Update: They responded after I said I didn't appreciate their shady business and they accused me of being shady by getting an illegal smog and then requesting a refund from them. This place is a joke. "You are 100% wrong.  In fact, you are the shady one.  We tested the car 100% legally according to the state rules.  Pre-heating the engine to get the vehicle to pass is against state rules.  The shop you took it to did an illegal smog.  After getting an illegal smog, you then proceeded to try and ask for a refund for the legal smog which we performed.  If you want to go through life cheating the environment with a polluting car, go ahead.  But we aren't being involved in your illegal activity in any way." read more

I really liked this place the first two times I took my cars but this last time was horrible. I went there last week to get a car smog, the machine was broken. No biggie, I'll just wait a week until my next days off and call again. I called the morning I was going to take it in, they said the machine is up and running. I got there, they hooked my car to the machine... and it broke again. Ended up taking the car somewhere else to get smog. This place is a really good deal and really nice when the equipment is working but not very reliable. read more

Had a bad experience with this place today. Only one guy working and he barely communicated. A gruff hello and where to park the car on entering. No opportunity to ask an expected wait time, no follow up when things were starting to take a long time. After 45 minutes of waiting it looked like I was next, but there were more people in front of me (invisible to the eye), and the guy seemed annoyed that I thought I was next., so I walked out and got served at the next smog business on San Pablo Ave in under 10 minutes. This one was super friendly. Sometimes there is a long wait, but communication goes a long way. I'd have been happy to grab lunch if given the option. I can't believe this place survives since most people are much more hurried and time conscious. read more
