I"ve been bringing my dog to Dr. Kudman for regular check-ups and immunization shots for a couple of years and alway been satisfied with the service. The prices are reasonable, waiting time is minimal, and it's very easy to get an appointment. Last week I found two abandoned kittens and brought them in. Unfortunately , they were very sick and could not be saved. Dr. Kudman suggested euthanasia as an only option, and he performed it at no charge. I've came across of many vets over the years, but nobody treated my pets with such compassion and honesty. I highly recommend this vet to all my friends. read more

Last minute I had to get vaccinations for my three Yorkies for grooming and my vet wasn't able to take me in without an appointment. Called this clinic and they were able to fit in. Dr.Kudman is the best. I'm a rescuer and constantly have new kittens and cats that need medical attention and to find a vet as compassionate about animals as he is a lifesaver. One of my recent ones, who came injured from being stuck in a car hood needed an emergency tail amputation and lip stitching. He scheduled the surgery as soon as possible and it went really well - he healed up PERFECTLY. Highly recommend him to everyone! read more

Usually, I don't write reviews often, but I must express how grateful I am to Dr. Kudman. 5 stars does not even close to describe what a great doctor and person he is. Yesterday, I had to make the final decision to put my 14 years old dog, Happy, to sleep. He was suffering from an aggressive cancerous tumor near his rectum. The tumor was egregious to the point where the flesh was split opened and the wounds were creating a rotten smell. My mother and I struggled to make this decision and have repeatedly sought for Dr. Kudman's advice in the past. He was extremely understanding and courteous, he gave us all the options we have and the effects if each option. The first few visits, my mother and I took Happy home because we couldn't stand the thought of losing him. But yesterday, we made the final decision that this was the best way to end his prolonging pain. My mother and I struggled to make the decision for over three and a half hours, and Dr. Kudman waited patiently the whole time. He let us spend time with Happy and reassured us that there was no rush. He let us know that we are his priority for that day, and he would wait for us for as long as we need. He said we can even take till after closing time, because he will wait for us. He grabbed chairs and tissues for us. His heart for his patients is genuine and unparalleled. I have never see a vet more patient and kind. He reassured me every step that there would be no pain for Happy. He patiently guided us through everything. In the end, my mother and I stayed with Happy the whole time while he went on his journey to the next life. We are genuinely thankful of Dr. Kudman and he told us he would take care of Happy's remains as if Happy was his own dog. The following day, Dr. Kudman even called to ask my mother how she was doing. Dr. Kudman truly has the biggest heart I have ever seen. I believe that he is someone that one can safely place the lives of their furry best friends in. I have a cat also and I will definitely keep visiting Dr. Kudman. Once again, I am sincerely grateful that there is a doctor out there that cares so much about animals. After reading the reviews to this location I was very disappointed by the treatment I received. I came here twice and nothing was confirmed about my pet except recommending me to go to other locations. First time I went the Dr. barely even checked my dog and automatically said she was ok, and gave her medicine for joints without actually checking her. The next time I realized things weren't going well and the medicine wasn't working. After I called to set up an appointment on Friday at 4:30 for x rays, when I arrived the doctor said it was 4:30 and he wanted to rush out of there (in other words) therefore, why allow me to schedule an appointment for Friday @4:30 if you weren't gonna do anything that I made the appointment for or ask me to switch the day since that wasn't a good time. Very frustrating as I live in Bushwick Brooklyn. He did not make me or my dog feel comfortable at all, and even said it was ok to go to another place. Horrible! Said he was gonna take blood work and didn't do that either but charged me 22$ for a couple of pills (literally like 5) smh. Then when I was leaving my dog made a noise and he didn't say nothing about it just to email him. I'm very disappointed as it's hard to find a doctor and after reading this reviews I thought I had a good one, but I'm extremely disappointed. As my dog literally squealed and there was nothing done he didn't wanna do no x-rays In other words saying he's not doing anything for this dog. Lastly, I was the one that said it was her neck that was hurting her and he wants to say (wow you really know your dog) sad because He literally didn't do anything to help. I don't understand someone who loves what they do shouldn't make you feel how he made me feel, my dog still isn't healed. I feel as if he was very rude and not comforting. I understand recommending to other places for more experience, but he didn't even try or even take blood work. Now I'm on the lookout for someone else. We chose this vet because they were very up front about the cost of our cat's spay procedure on the phone (which we really appreciated!), plus we saw their many 5 star reviews and felt awesome about their reputation. However, we were put off by several different instances of what we felt to be a lack of professionalism, which will deter us from returning to 4 Legged Friends. The staff and Dr are friendly, but the environment inside the waiting room and on the phone is casual to the point of unprofessional. The staff are brusque on the phone and at the counter, and we felt unsure of what we were supposed to do and what we needed to bring or fill out. When we arrived at 10am (our appointed time via a phone conversation made weeks in advance) to drop our sweet kitty off to get spayed, the lights in the office were off, the security gate was down, and no one was inside. The staff arrived casually at 10:10am to open the office and didn't seem apologetic at all about their lateness. When we returned to pick up our cat that same day after her surgery, the staff gave us unwanted advice about the type of collar our cat was wearing. They then put a cone on her head (which we were fine with because we assumed they knew what they were doing), tied on with a ragged piece of gauze, and stuffed her into her carrier. She was extremely distressed because of the cone, pain from the surgery, and the drugs she was on, and when they stuffed her into her carrier, she couldn't move because of the cone on her head. She became increasingly distressed and began biting through the plastic cone so that her bottom jaw became stuck. We were forced to take the cone off, but the damage was done and she (a normally calm and easygoing Scottish fold) was terrified and angry enough to draw blood from biting us throughout the remainder of a very late and stressful night. When we called a week later to get our cat's stitches removed (she healed well, with no medical complications), they told us it was a walk-in type appointment and that we could come in anytime between 10am and 6pm on Friday. My husband left work early to take our cat, but luckily he called before he left, because the staff unapologetically informed him that the hours for that day had changed and the doctor was leaving at 5pm. When my husband explained he had left work early and that we were very far away and couldn't arrive until 5:10pm, they said that the Dr would not wait an extra 10 minutes, and so we had to wait until the following day even though my husband lost much needed hours at work. Because we had to come on a Saturday (and I had to give up a much needed day off), I have just spent 4 hours riding the completely screwed up weekend trains just to get to the vet and back, and we waited for 45 minutes to get seen for what was a 5 minute procedure. Our overall issue seemed to be with the professionalism, organization, and communication of the staff- we appreciated the doctor and his smart, quick clean work on our cat. She is healthy- but we are extremely annoyed and will not be wasting any more of our time coming to a vet that doesn't seem to value us. read more

I used to trust this doctor my 2 cats now I'm not going there even for vaccinations! One of my cats has an allergy and he didn't see it on blood test (plus her butt was red, he didn't know why even after he got blood results), the other one has weak immune system and that's the reason why his gums are red (by the way I came here a year ago cause I didn't like my cart appetite and there was a woman who checked my cat. She said he doesn't eat well because of the redness on his gums. Hello! Don't you feel like telling me why he has red gums! Instead she took his blood and called me in a week saying my cat is ok and she doesn't know what happens to him). After I start reading a lot about all the symphony cats have and went to the new doctor who told me what to did in my first visit and now my cats perfectly fine. I wasted so much time going to this guy! And by the way my new doctor was very surprised when he saw my female cat blood test and when I told him Dr.Kudman didn't see the allergy. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Kudman and his staff. He is a kind and caring veterinarian. It took me a while to find him and when I did I was so happy and I will never go anywhere else again. Dr. Kudman always listens to my concerns and is so gentle with my 9 year old dog. Whether it be a well visit or a visit for something I am concerned about he always eases my concerns and runs the necessary tests to ensure my precious baby is okay. My dog has a history of seizures and I always call Dr. Kudman with any concerns and he is always available to respond to my questions or he informs me that I should bring my dog in to be seen. Dr. Kudman cared for my dog on one occasion when one of her nails was cut off completely by a groomer. When I saw the blood and that my dog was in pain I immediately contacted Dr. Kudman's office. I was so scared she would have an infection or that her nail wouldn't grow back. The receptionist reassured me and gave me an emergency appointment. Dr. Kudman took wonderful care of my baby and my dog healed perfectly. The staff are always professional and Dr. Kudman is an excellent veterinarian. Well where do I begin ..... I should begin by saying that this is one of the BEST clinics I have EVER been too in the 12 years (going on 13) being a pet owner. I had the chance of meeting Dr. Kudman and his team back in the summer of 2016 when I had an emergency with my miniature schnauzer who was battling canine diabetes. I came across this clinic by accident because I was searching for a Veternarian that was open late and with luck on my side 4 legged Friends was open until 10:00 PM. As a working pet parent with a 9-5 job, which lets be honest here majority if not 90% of people work the same hours, 4 legged friends has made it so convenient for working pet parents such as myself to be open that late knowing how to accommodate customers and their pets in emergency situations. The latest clinic I've ever seen open, 7pm maybe if I'm pushing it 8pm, otherwise it's off to the animal hospital which would cost triple the amount than a regular visit. Originally I was going to the Animal Clinic on New Utrecht (who diagnosed the diabetes) which I no longer felt comfortable continuing my dogs treatment. I didn't feel as if I was receiving genuine service. I feel that more should have been done at the time of the diagnosis than just putting my dog straight on insulin without doing further testing such as a glucose curve to determine the right amount of insulin that should be administered. My first time meeting Dr. Kudman, he was very relaxed and showed concern. Dr. Kudman was honest with me from the first day I met him, when he said that he was not an expert in diabetes but will do his best to guide us into the right direction. I really felt at ease with Dr. Kudman and his team. Not only was he EXTREMELY responsive, he always went out of his way contacting specialists to consult our situation so that I did have to go if I didn't need too. He wanted to do everything he could before actually needing to go see a specialist. Just right away by the attention myself and my dog were given we always felt as if we were his only patients when in reality obviously we weren't but that's how we were treated. With all of dr. Kudman's and his teams effort to save my dog, there came a time a few months later when I sat down and asked dr. Kudman, "Dr. Kudman, can you please be honest when I ask you will Bruce (my dogs name) get better?" And he told me, "No, Bruce won't get better all we are doing is making him comfortable." Right there and then I felt how sincere Dr. Kudman's words were, when I can guarantee any other clinic / vet I would have gone would have pushed more test and more medication but Dr. Kudman didn't because he knew Bruce had more than just diabetes, if it was just diabetes Bruce would have responded to treatment but he wasn't. At that point Bruce went under so many tests and procedures that even if we did more and the results did not come back in our favor it would just mean more medications but it wouldn't change the fact that Bruce wouldn't be the same and Dr. Kudman was right we would just be making him comfortable until he would start to feel worse. I don't trust a lot of people in this world, Dr. Kudman is one out of the few. Instead of putting more money into his pocket, he put that aside and and did what he knew would be best for both Bruce and I. He didn't give false hope and at the same time he cared enough for Bruce to know that he wasn't doing well. At that moment Dr. Kudman put Bruce first and gave his expert advice on what was best for Bruce, not him and not me. I've always wanted the best for Bruce and especially towards the end of his life that's what he got, in many ways all thanks to the care provided by Dr. Kudman and his team. When I made the hardest decision any pet owner can relate to, Dr. Kudman and his team supported me throughout every moment up until my final goodbye. I never imaged that I would even consider being in the room during the procedure but with Dr. Kudman's persistance and encouragement he said "You need to be in that room, you don't have to stay for the final procedure but trust me you want to stay with Bruce during sedation. The last thing you want Bruce to see is you. He said please stay in the room, please believe when I say you will regret it if you don't. So I did, I stayed with Bruce and I got to see him in his most peaceful state as he fell asleep in my arms. I will treasure that moment for the rest of life and I cant thank Dr. Kudman enough for giving me that last moment with my best friend. Anyone you ask, Bruce was my life for 12 AMAZING years, there would not be another person that I would trust to know that Bruce went away peacefully except for Dr. Kudman. He is an incredible Veternarian. read more

I started going to him when my dog, Greta, had an allergic reaction where she was itching constantly, and my previous vet was unable to help for several weeks. I brought my dog here a week ago because he was throwing up every other day. He still had a good appetite and acted normally.I was concerned about his throwing up so I brought him to get checked out. As soon as the doctor found out that my dog was 16/17 years old from the receptionist he did not do an exam. He just checked his heart beat and took his weight. Based on that he prescribed 3 medications and cbd oil. After giving my dog those medications and cbd oil he became lethargic, threw up, and had diarrhea. I let the doctor know and he said to schedule another appointment so we can find out what is really going on with him but testing his urine and blood. Why wasnt this done when I brought him to you the first time I wonder and I will wonder that for the rest of my life because my dog died after seeing this doctor a week later in my arms. after no examination and medications that the doctor assumed my dog needed. I will never bring another animal to this vet. please think very carefully before you do so as well. read more

I have an Elderly Kitty that has a few problems related to his Kidneys. He developed the problem in the last 4 years while I lived in the more expensive places in Brooklyn. I've been in and out of several Veterinarian Offices and thought that High Expenses means Quality of Care. A friend recommended Dr. Kudman to me after I complained about the high Costs. I would not normally go out of my High Priced area, but I decided to give it a try. Thank Goodness I did! Dr. Kudman treated my Kitty who was suffering from a swollen back foot. He took X-Rays and a Blood Test. I just can't believe that I got those results right away! The other, more expensive clinics I went to made me wait days before I would get the Blood Results! I can't even imagine how long I would have to wait to get the X-Ray results which Dr. Kudman gave me right away! Wow.... I didn't know what Excellent Care was until I went to Dr. Kudman's office! On top of that, his prices are very reasonable! I'm so happy I went to Dr. Kudman's office on recommendation! Now I am happy to recommend Dr. Kudman to anyone I speak to from now on! I would say if you are using a "Normally" priced Veterinarian Clinic in the "Normally" high priced areas, just go to 4 Legged Friends! You'll save more than the expense to travel to his office!
