Creole Toast - Creole Toast - very underwhelming. Way too much cheese and fishy flavor. The bread is actually good, but do not recommend.

Though I've been to their main (and larger) location by the Winter Park Library, this was my first time at this location. It is a lot smaller so I would recommend getting reservations no matter when you are coming. The inside was decorated in much the same way and I was excited that we were seated in one of the starry alcoves. I had already reserved the Afternoon Tea so it was all set up for us. We were given the tea menu as well as the regular menu in case we wanted anything else. There were a few teas to choose from so I picked English Breakfast. While it was a tea bag, I was pleased it was Rishi, a more premium brand. Our 3-tier tea tray came out and it looked fabulous! The 3 sandwiches were egg salad, chicken salad, and pimento cheese, and they were all delicious. The scones were fantastic as well and were served with raspberry Jane and a mascarpone cream, which was very close to clotted cream. The top tier had bon bons, petit fours and fruit tarts. It was very filling. For the top layer, I ordered a mint tea and it paired really well. I don't know if this location will keep doing Afternoon Tea or if they will still only do it on Tuesdays but I highly recommend it!

I have been eating at the Briarpatch Restaurant for over 40 years and have totally enjoyed the chunky chicken salad. Briarpatch doesn't take reservations for brunch, but don't worry. I truly have never seen a walk-in line move so quickly! With a line out the door, and even sometimes around the corner, I have never waited more than 20 minutes for a table. Their staff is quick and efficient. Inside, it truly feels like a diner in NYC! There is plenty of patio seating as well, so I know I will be taking advantage of that when the weather cools down here in Florida! Looking for something savory? The short rib benedict is PHENOMENAL!!! Such a creative take on a classic eggs benedict; and packed with flavor. Sweet? The raspberry & brie french toast is my favorite thing on the menu. It is thick cut brioche bread stuffed with raspberry jam & brie cheese. I usually come with a friend, we get one of each of those entrees, and split it! I can never decide!! Keep in mind that the potions are HUGE. You can easily share with a friend!

Our waitress took our order shortly after we sat and she brought chips and salsa. The chips are thin, crunchy and fresh. The flight of salsas makes the dining experience fun. The portion is huge and it was about $40 for our meal, which given the size of the salad, it's reasonable. Overall, the service and food were great!

We're obsessed with both the green salsas. They also give you a warm red salsa and a spicy/smoky one. For our mains, I got the eggs, chorizo, and potatoes with a side of smoked bacon. My husband got the migas al carbon (breakfast tacos) with chicken. Both are served with your choice of tortillas and refried beans. Dang, their beans are good and I'm not usually a fan of them. They got our toddler's seal of approval, too. Our server was the sweetest and she even brought out a complimentary house made popsicle for our son at the end of the meal. He loved it! We'll for sure be adding Superica into our brunch rotation!

It featured tofu (the menu says almond crusted, but it wasn't), house made lentil sausage, buttermilk ranch dressed kale, spicy aioli, on a brioche bun. It was SO good and I would absolutely order it again. 10/10 vegetarian option. We also got the herbed chicken salad panini and, again, super impressed! It's on toasted sourdough and came with our choice of side (oven baked sweet potatoes). The chicken salad itself was full of herbs and stood out! The sweet potatoes were also spiced and were a treat, not an afterthought. I loved the aioli dip that came with them and found myself dipping everything in it! I also got a matcha and an iced cortado. The matcha was fab- with a seasonal blueberry syrup. The coffee was actually a bit of a disappointment. It tasted burnt and we didn't love it. Quick shoutout to Matt at the counter who was a GEM when we were making our brunch picks. A friendly staff member can really elevate an experience!! Finally, they carry really good natural wines. The sauce was on point! The latte was really smooth and felt like a hug. They have a good amount of outdoor seating and it's shaded which works perfect for those hot Florida days. Expanding the number of guests from the original reservation was not an issue at all. Contemporary decor, airy dining space and an open kitchen create a trendy, upscale setting. It's a popular place, so the noise level gets up there. Our server, Shenica, was a pro, flawlessly meeting our needs with vibrancy. She made sure our long table was never overloaded with unnecessary clutter. Her knowledge and guidance were precise and valuable. Not everyone in our party went with the MD menu. A downside was late pizza delivery for those who ordered it. The rest of us were well into our meals by the time pizzas finally arrived. Apologies and updates were provided, though. Another fail was the MD meatball appetizer (Albondigas). Disappointment rolled into a ball. Bland, dry meat. Nuts and sauce provided only mediocre flavor. First bite of Pork Pappardelle was a bit salty, but more savory balanced as I continued on. Finished the entire dish. Sticky Toffee Cake was warm, spongey goodness. Thinking about it takes me to a happy place. Really enjoyed my glass of Ferrari-Carano Fume Blanc. Right up my alley as a regular pinot grigio enthusiast. I know I'll return. The brunch menu is very enticing.

If you like your chocolate cake dark, decadent, rich, and a little sexy... baby, this is the move. Basically, this isn't "lemme grab a little piece of cake." The menu was extremely limited -- only three appetizers, two of which were salads, and the third (brussels sprouts) wasn't even available. The entrées and desserts were also limited to three options each. For a $60 per‑person dining event, we expected a memorable meal, but the service was slow and the wait between courses was unusually long. We also weren't informed ahead of time that parties larger than six are automatically charged an added tip percentage. The atmosphere and interior were beautiful, but the food itself didn't match the price or the occasion. My chicken entrée was shockingly small -- essentially the size of a single chicken wing -- served with six small red potatoes in sauce. It didn't feel like a $60 dish in any way. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering it was meant to be a special birthday dinner for my mom. This isn't meant to be harsh, just honest feedback. I truly hope management takes this seriously and improves both the menu and the service for future Magical Dining guests.

However, they have plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Literally one of my favorite spots. Thank you Buttermilk for being THAT girl.

I have been a Buttermilk Bakery fan for well over a decade. Until this last weekend…read more I got online at 8:15 in the morning to place my order. Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed.
