This spot offers an unexpected menu with everything from steaks, seafood, chicken, sandwiches and more. One of my new favorites is their French dip. So good! Everything we've order has been delicious. Everything is flavorful, well prepared, and served fresh and hot. On nights that they offer seafood or other "special" items it's a limited amount so they'll run out of some things pretty early. Get there for an early dinner if you can. Service is a little hit and miss. We've been in on days that our server was amazing and super friendly and other days that a server barely glanced our direction and never even came to our table. I think a couple of them really focus on their known regulars and less on people they don't immediately recognize. It's a very small dining area with limited seating but there are a few tables outside in a covered area as well. Several video poker machines are available if that's your thing. There's lots of parking, just be careful on your stroll to the door along Hwy 224. Cars are moving fast and focused on making the light more than where you might be walking on the side of the road. It's even a little more sketchy when the summer rafter start hitting the area. Overall, excellent food can be found here and is totally worth checking out. They also have a Facebook page, that I just discovered, that highlights their food offering from day to day. Give it a try!

I was searching for a late-night Italian spot in SE Portland and came across Nostrana. It was my…read morefirst visit, and I'm glad we gave it a try. We were able to walk in and get a table, but I'd recommend making a reservation if you're coming with a larger group. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor patio that's perfect for Portland summer evenings. The pasta dishes were fresh, flavorful, and highlighted seasonal ingredients. Everything was great for sharing, and the octopus was exceptional. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Parking is available both in the restaurant lot and on the street, which made things easy. I don't eat Italian food very often, but this place just felt right. I'd definitely come back. Enjoy!

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend, so I went in with pretty high expectations. We…read moredidn't have a reservation but were able to get seated right away, which was nice. Unfortunately, the food was pretty underwhelming overall. The salad had way too much dressing, and my friend who had been here before said it wasn't nearly as crisp as they remembered. The pizza was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. I was hoping to taste more of the different ingredients, especially the corn, but the tomatoes really dominated everything. The gnocchi was also way too soft for my preference. The pasta was probably my favorite dish of the meal, but even that wasn't good enough that I'd specifically come back for it. The most disappointing part was dessert. I waited quite a while for my ice cream, and when it finally arrived, it was already very melted. At first I thought maybe that was how it was supposed to be served, but the table directly behind us ordered the same ice cream and theirs came out completely different and not melted. I was pretty surprised they served ours like that, especially after the long wait. Another downside if you choose to sit outside is that people smoke nearby. The cigarette smoke drifts over to the outdoor seating area, which isn't particularly pleasant when you're trying to enjoy your meal. Overall, I had high hopes based on the recommendation, but the experience just didn't live up to them. I probably wouldn't come back on my own, but if a friend wanted to eat here, I'd give it another shot and try the mushroom pizza since I've heard that's one of their better options.

Thank you so much! I ordered a burrito La Taqueria style and it was amazing -- you did such a great…read morejob making it. The style I was trying to recreate was inspired by La Taqueria in San Francisco, a hugely popular and nationally recognized taqueria that has received major acclaim, including a James Beard Foundation America's Classics Award. They're especially famous for their distinctive burrito style: absolutely no rice, it takes away from the meat, just a simple flavorful filling, and the option to have the finished burrito made "Dorado style," where it's pressed on the flat-top until the tortilla gets golden, toasted, and crispy. That's the texture and flavor I was hoping for -- carne asada, refried beans, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and that crispy grilled outside. Yours came really close to what I had in mind, and it tasted amazing. I really appreciate the care you put into making it, and I hope you can make it this same way again next time. Thank you!

8.5 /10 first experience…read more I usually don't divulge to PNW folks that I'm from CA lol but for this review it has to be known. Anyway Mexican food up here in the PNW is trash. It's not authentic by any means. I feel like they just cater to the demographic. I was in BG area and actually had cash on me so I pulled over to give them a try. This is the first spot that I've found to even be on the radar with back home quality. 1) they lightly toasted the the tortilla. 2) the meat was cut on the bias, thin, tender and full of flavor!! If they let it crisp up just a little more it would be next level. 3) they used real avocado slices not that nasty premade spread that has vinegar to preserve the color. Overall my burrito was delicious and it was filled great, equal beans/rice/meat ratio. Ps i ordered it without lettuce. I will absolutely be coming back to try tacos and other items. Review for salsas: I tried one of each (habanero, red and green). My favorite was the verde. It's the most flavorful. I usually like hot, hot, but won't compromise flavor. I would stick to the verde no matter what I order. I like that there's grassy patches. While I was waiting I was able to let my dog stretch her legs until the buzzer went off. The lady in the food truck was helpful and told me they have habanero as an option.
