Their pecan bread is AMAZING! Fresh fruit and veggies, bakery, butcher, frozen foods, wine and spirits, specialty sodas, interesting specialty foods, sundries, a God send! I was especially grateful this week when my hubby ripped the turkey bag and we needed another one on Christmas Eve and did not want to go all the way to Jewel Osco - we ended up with a ton of good stuff that was not on the list, but it was so worth it! So glad you are just down 1st Street from us!

Of course it's also fresher. There's other products but the main reason to come is the produce that is much better than other stores. Came in and looked around a bit. It's a locally owned grocery store with lots of the same products you can find elsewhere. The difference is the freshness and prices of these. About the best place to shop in downtown. Other grocery stores are farther away and not as cheap as this. Also more products here are local. That's a good reason to choose here instead of there. Has quite a lot packed into this kind of small market. It's located on Oak Street at Sixth Street. There's lots of grocery products like cereal that's kind of expensive, but the fresh things are cheaper, so get the fruits and vegetables.

Dekalb, your life just got a whole lot better!…read more This place is fantastic. I'm so glad we have an Asian market here. Things that you would normally go online and wait days for, are now just a ten minute (depending on where you live) drive away. It's a substantially sized store (for the type of business that it is.) They carry Thai Basil, Korean red pepper paste, fish sauce, long stems of lemongrass and plum sauce to name a few!!! And their prices are reasonable. The owner is fantastic. I had called and left a message inquiring of a few items. He called me back moments later with an answer. And upon arriving at the store I had a couple recipe questions and he was very helpful in offering suggestions. C'mon out Dekalb and support this place! We need to keep it here.

DO NOT ORDER UPS ACCESS POINT HERE…read more Per UPS own email, "An officially recognized form of ID will be required when retrieving your package." If you are picking up the package and are not the addressee, you will also be required to provide the tracking number." If you arrive to pick up a package for someone else, they decide here at this store they make the rules and will not follow the UPS instructions. It is quite simple to follow the provided rules from the shipping companies, but clearly that is a struggle here. Would avoid getting a package held here if there is even a slight chance someone else may have to retrieve it. Not to mention when the person you're getting the package calls for the owner is incredibly rude on top of his incompetence.
