Moldy fruit, moldy fruit it doesn't matter if it's summer or winter time you have to buy your watermelon cut in quarters because if you buy the full watermelon from this place, it's going to be molded. I don't live near this store but want to share my experience while visiting a family member. Walked in and asked a young women for directions to Almond Milk, bam she was correct. Then after a great night I needed tums, yes I said tums, ugh is right. This women also guided me to the right Isle. While waiting in self serve lane I heard , " I can help next up" , this is incredible, instead of hiding behind the counter and doing nothing, this YOUNG women want to influence the customer experience. She did! After she finished with me, I heard the beautiful words again , "can I help next up"! A total 10 star experience out of 5! read more

This past Fourth of July weekend jewel has the buy one get two ribs free. So I bought one and got two free . and when I got home and opened them they were old and rotten and smelled horrible. At this point I got family coming over my grill has been started by my police officer brother in law from out of town. Who has time to deal with this and go back. Every Jewel-Osco has its own unique differences. This one has great customer service. The fruit and vegetables are fresh. The deli area had very great service. If you want to sample the foods they give you a decent portion. As far as sales they had great deals all around in every department. I couldn't be more satisfied. As a customer today. Went up to the service desk and stood behind an older man that the clerk was helping out, the clerk Brandon seemed irate and unprofessional with the customer. When I got up there he treated me the same way just uninterested in my situation, I was charged a wrong price and he didn't even look at the receipt to see the error, then he also wanted to short changed me on the item until I showed him the receipt. He asked if I wanted cash or it put back in my card with such bother in his body language and voice. He shouldn't be working with the public if his attitude is going to be unprofessional. He needs training in dealing with errors that the employees make because they don't know what a grapefruit is. This isn't the first time he's acted this way. read more

I was going to be in Il for the day for pleasure so I thought I would sneak in some business at the same time. My IPASS units were past there life expectancy and I was told in letter form to go to a jewel/osco and get them replaced now, we don't have them in Wi anymore so I found this jewel was not far from where I was going to be. I was talking to the woman at the customer service desk and I mentioned that I came all the way from Milwaukee to exchange my units and she informed me that I paid all the tolls twice because I had both units with me. I replied what can I do I have to have them both for the round trip and she explains that if I wrap one in tin foil it will not be seen by the sensors. I said I could go and buy a roll tin foil and take it home with me and she stops me from walking to the tin foil isle and says lets go over to the bakery and maybe I can get you just a piece foil. Well she got me some foil so I didn't have to buy a roll. She didn't have to go out of here way to save me on my tolls or the box of foil, now that was truly customer service at its finest. The spinach looked ok from the outside but when I opened it the leaves were wilted and looked as if they had come from a can. The cell service in this location absolutely sucks. I can barely get anything in this store! I'm not a particular fan of how this store is organized. I usually go to Walmart for my grocery shopping. However, they used to have a promotion where NIU students would get 15% off if they show their One card. I don't know if they do that anymore. read more

Watch the expiration dates! I have found items on the shelves that were over a year old by the croutons. The staff is always friendly. Hate that I can't buy alcohol then go into the store they are separate. read more

The pharmacist and technicians here are always friendly and polite. They actually greet you in a human way instead of starting right in on "what's your name, address and phone?" We like the relaxed and respectful neighborhood atmosphere at this Osco. read more

Visited this Osco for booster shots for myself and my two kids and they are incredible! Super friendly and fast! Their paperwork process is so simple compared to another pharmacy that we went to for our original shots. Highly recommend! Get your vaccine today! read more

Jacob was awesome in finding the ingredient i needed. He was restocking late night and saw me running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to find a very particular item before the store closes. This is your typical, small Jewel grocery store. Echoing several other reviewers, no, don't go in if you are expecting an important cell phone call. Because of their size, they do not have everything, or a large variety of an item. i.e. Bumble Bee tuna in water. Silly, I know, but that is what I was looking for. My only reason for going to this Jewel is because it is the one with the TCF bank branch in it. Today I had a rather small purchase, some cream cheese, tuna, olives. The bagger had already put two plastic grocery bags in my scooter cart. I asked that he please not use another bag for the rest, pack those items in the other two bags. He was concerned because the four cans of tuna would make the bags too heavy to carry. I glared, told him I would not accept more bags. He divided them between the two I had. Then moved on to the next register to pack. Have you figured out what's missing yet? I'm sure you have. Neither the cashier or the bagger asked if I needed assistance to my car.. This is typical of this store. I much prefer the larger Jewel close to my house, but, it does not have the TCF Bank branch. read more

This location is like all other Jewel's I have gone to.... I mean the produce and meat are great selections, easy to find stuff, and the sales papers are usually good deals. Def always stop here when I'm grocery shopping. read more

This Jewel rocks. I am always on the hunt for the perfect grocery store and this one definitely tops my list. My very favorite thing about this Jewel is the $4 flower bouquets. I love fresh flowers in my house and for $4, I can afford to have them! The fresh produce is always delicious and clean. The deli is fantastic with a great selection of salads and meats. This store has good deals occasionally, but is a bit pricy. Also think it could benefit from a remodel or a good clean. Needs something because it seems haggard. The employees are friendly so it helps distract from the cleanliness. read more

I have to disagree with everyone that posted a comment. The produce is gross. It's always moldy (seems to be typical with ANY jewel, not specifically this one). Service is generally terrible unless you go in the morning. The place needs a complete face-lift. It looks dirty! With the new addition of Hy-Vee down the street and a beautiful and CLEAN Jewel in Sycamore why would anyone go here? Just sayin. read more

I would like to thank the young man bringing carts yesterday. I am disabled and use a walker . It is hard for me to get it in and out the car . Sometimes I just use a cart . When I was returning it to the corral I almost fell. The young man offered me his arm to get to my car . I could not have made it by myself . Very rude manager. This location consistently advertise items that are not available. Attempted to purchase corn on the cob, on a Saturday, three days into their seven day sale, and they were out of stock. The manager, JoeNorris , would not even offer me a rain check. Typical Jewel Osco, I love shopping at jewel because I always find good deals, especially in the meat market. Except this location has the worst produce section ever! I'm not exaggerating when I saw they NEVER have fresh green peppers, which is a shame because I buy them weekly. They seem to have fresh red and Yellow peppers, but the green are always wilted and look expired. They were selling cucumbers for 99 cents each that were the size of a medium pickle .
