Scallops in Lobster Sauce! That is 90% of what you need to know about this place. The Scallops in Lobster Sauce is the best dang dish I've eaten all year. I don't know what kind of witchcraft they use to make those little babies so tender and sweet and buttery, and that creamy lobster sauce so absolutely irresistible, and I don't think it's my right to know. But they are a gift from the humble kitchen of 390 Main Street and I will praise them as I should! Ok - if you need to know more... We tried this place for the first time yesterday and upon taking a seat at the bar, I thought it felt a bit dive-y and really not sure what to expect. The staff is nice enough. There's definitely a good-old-boys-club vibe here. The menu is paper and looooong. But! One bite of those scallops and I totally got it. I understood the whole place and while it's not fine dining, it fits the price point and the promise of excellent seafood. We also tried the clam cakes - tasty, super crispy exterior and tender inside. Tasty tartar to accompany. The coconut shrimp was fun and sweet and crispy. It was recommended to us to return for the seafood chowder which I'm very excited for! Its a cute little spot worth the visit for the food alone.

We have a camp in maine at USM and then after the camp we go eat lobster here usually 3-4 people and its is amazing! This time we had 3 people and we all had the "twin lobster" which is 2 lobster (one is posted below). The food and service was amazing and the food came fast my brother didn't know how to eat to the waitress helped him! The ambiance is extreme nice!

This is the wall the table was attached to.. it was filthy. I did bring it to the waitresses attention so it can be cleaned

There is a lot to choose from on the menu. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was ok. My photo is of the wall next to the table.. it was filthy and I did bring it to the waitresses attention . It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. Just saying. I won't be back , there's too many other great seafood restaurants around.

Good Maine food, salad bar, solid drinks, and friendly staff service. The bar area is a great spot for local hangouts with lots of monitors for sports broadcast and is almost always full - while the restaurant maintains a family atmosphere. Favorite spot for the older local crowd as well. Good food, decent price. Tonight we had seafood: braised scallop Caesar salad and bake stuffed salmon. Both very flavorful and delicious. Friendly staff and local folks abound. If you're in town and are looking for a good home-style dinner or lunch ... THIS is the place!

The owner is very rude and obnoxious. He sits at the bar and gets drunk and pics on customers very unprofessional.

We booked a reservation and mentioned it being an anniversary for reasoning and they had a note at our table when we got sat down. It was a great little touch service wise that we appreciated. Which service wise our server was extremely friendly and explained specials and checked on us the right amount. Food and drink wise we started off with some cocktails to kick off our celebrating. My wife got the Blueberries & Bubbly which was blueberry infused Tito's and Prosecco with lemon and basil simple. It was a tasty drink, while I got their Strawberry-Jalapeño Margarita that was decent. It was quite strong booze wise and had a good strawberry flavor but lacked the heat I expected and had more of a pepper vegetal flavor. I would likely grab a different drink next time. We also got complimentary bread with olive oil, it was good. Then appetizer wise we wanted their Tomato & Basil Bruschetta that was fantastic! Lastly entree wise we were both wanting some pasta and settled on my wife getting Rigatoni Bolognese and me Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. The bolognese had a hearty sauce with a lot of depth of flavor thanks to beef and sausage and smoked bacon. The entree size was perfect amount for my wife. My gnocchi mac had a lot of crispy pork belly that was the second star of the dish after the well cooked gnocchi. I would say I'm not the average person portion wise so my words may not speak for many but I do wish the entree size portion for my dish was larger. Then to finish of our night we grabbed their peach and blueberry crisp for dessert. It was tasty with vanilla ice cream served beside it but both my wife and I wished it had more crumble or crisp to it. Overall though great dinner and we will keep this spot in mind for future meals. Worth checking out if you want a nice meal close to Portland but not in Portland.

Despite not being overly busy it took the waitress forever to greet us. After she took our order she said she would get us plates but never did. The wait was ridiculously long and some other woman threw a plate of skins on the table and immediately walked away. No plates. One tiny sour cream for two people. We tried to wave our waitress and this other woman down but they were too involved in personal conversation and going back into the kitchen. I had to go to the host and ask her if she could bring us plates and get our waitress, but then I noticed the plates on the shelf and was able to self serve. The hostess was able to get us the sour cream. I'm not a monster so I still tipped 20% but I low key wish the tip went to the hostess instead.

They have a huge variety of draft, cans and plenty of alcohol to choose from. This includes, cider and GF options from lucky pigeon. The fried pickles are crispy, and the dip enhances the taste of the fried pickles. The full bar has seating on three sides and there are TVs everywhere you look. Art on the wall was done from the bartender's photography. Truly a wonderful atmosphere. The small bar manages to feature a variety of local beers to try, from light to dark, so I warmed myself with a delicious oatmeal stout on this frigid New Year evening. After some waffling, I went with my comfort foods: poutine and lobster roll. While we waited for the appetizers, I spied on other tables' fish and chips and fried shrimp - huge portions both. Promising. Poutine was excellent disco fries. Cheese too melty, gravy too light for Quebecois, but who am I to judge? Delicious gravy for sure. My friend loved his haddock Reuben, with the fish taking up the entire sandwich. Sandwiches aren't the biggest compared to the dinner plates, which doesn't surprise me and is why I ordered the poutine. But very tasty. I ordered the fish and chips: straight from the fryer, nicely crisp, and clearly fresh fish. The fries were the real star--golden, crunchy, and blessedly not soggy. My only note? A touch of salt in the batter would've gone a long way and really lifted the flavor of the fish. Second visit (dinner), same order... very different experience. This time everything landed on the bland side--even the tartar sauce, which is usually the safety net. My guess? Different cook for the dinner crowd. All that said, it wasn't terrible--just inconsistent. There's definite potential here, and when it's good, it's good. I'd happily give it another shot... preferably at lunchtime.

It had a slightly slimy texture and the pasta was mushy. The clam chowder was fine but tasted like it had been reheated and not made all that recently. I had a lobster roll from their food truck a few years ago that I ate outside on a summer day and it felt special. This visit did not feel that way and instead more of a perfunctory meal. I think more attention to detail on the sides and no lobster rolls in the 40 dollar range for what feels like a casual establishment would be improvements.

It feels like a secret, but I know it's not a well kept one! Our server Nico (apologies if I've misspelled that!) was wonderful. He was friendly and helpful when we made our dinner choices. The other servers were also always on top of keeping our table clear and our water filled. The food was absolute perfection. We started with a salad and grilled octopus. The salad was bright and acidic which paired perfectly with the best octopus dish I've had. It was so tender and delicious, I've never had octopus that was that tender. The grilled flavor came through immediately, but never overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the octopus. For mains I had sole francaise and my husband had bone in monkfish. The sole was melt in your mouth good. It was lightly breaded and cooked in a pan with brown butter. It was so toasty and nutty and coated the green beans and simple, but perfect, red potatoes it was served with. My husband's monkfish was fresh and perfectly toothsome, served with fluffy Roman gnocchi and romesco sauce. My only regret is not having enough room for dessert because I'm sure it's incredible as well! I can't wait to return the next time we're in Portland. Just to note: this is one of the least accessibility-friendly areas of the city. The old cobblestone road that it's located on is foot traffic only. The closest approach is if you're dropped off at the end of and it you would still have a short distance to travel. There is a brick footpath on the sides of the cobblestone road that is slightly smoother, but still not ideal. Earlier in the day I was able to navigate the street okay on foot so it will depend on your capabilities. That being said, I took my motorized travel chair down there in the evening and Street and co were happy to let me fold it up and store it near the door.
