Perfect for a mid-day catch up with some friends, this bar offers some great food on their bar menu and the drinks range is as well, truly epic! Cocktails are immense and barman is always willing to put together a little something different for you once you give him your base, e.g. gin. There's different seating options, some great booths, cosy sofas, high tables or grab a seat at the bar... There is also a pretty decent window seat :-) Unfortunately for me, as evening comes in... It's not so much my type of place, music ramps up which I'm fine with however it goes from being a very chilled, relaxed vibe into a little more pretentious, if I dare say. I have always enjoyed whether it be a night or day time drink here but my preference would definitely be just a chilled out afternoon with friends here as opposed to top choice for a night out

Can you give six stars? Because I would! "37 Dawson Street" opened up a few weeks ago and BOY AM I GLAD THEY DID! Besides "Foam Café" (which has terrible service), there wasn't a place in the city center that's quirky, fun and different. Until now! The hard to miss entrance (It has a big glass front and a huge golden '37' in front of it) is already promising, but once you step inside, you'll want to take a walk around to admire all the quirky interior before you decide on a seat. From bulldog table lamps to chairs with fur, from posters showing the male anatomy to countless mirrors on the wall - there's a lot to be discovered! '37' has a bunch of cozy booths in the front part, then couches, sofa chairs and regular tables at the back. There's even an upstairs, so plenty of room. Another thing I really liked was the background music. It was a sort of jazzy, 40s/50s style music, really chilled and perfect for a Sunday brunch. I assume it's probably different at nights, though. Their brunch menu is one of the most varied ones I've encountered in Dublin and is the only place with an actual selection of French Toast & Hotcakes. It's divided into sections ("Eggs", "Man vs. Food", "Sliders" etc.) and there's something for everyone on it. Prices are average for a Dublin brunch spot: Bellini & Mimosas are €9 (granted, a little steep but oh-so-delicious!), French Toast from €8,50 (big portion!), All desserts are €5. After our lovely waitress had taken our orders, she brought us a small basket with a selection of warms breads, some butter and jam. This was complimentary and I found it a really nice touch! I had the Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce on the side, and really liked that they were presented in a slightly different way. Four little sourdough (?) halves, and the Hollandaise sauce was one of the tastiest ones I've ever had (yes, this is not an exaggeration - I usually don't like Hollandaise, but this one was light, fluffy and with just the right hint of lemon). For dessert, I had Fresh Berries with Vanilla Mascarpone that's served in a little glass pot and two hear-shaped butter cookies. Absolutely delicious, but couldn't finish it even though I shared it with one of my friends. Because it was a Sunday brunch, I also had a Bellini. Again, really, really nice - not too sweet and just the right amount of peachiness. Yum! The reason I'd give six stars, though, is the service. Everyone was really lovely, super attentive and extremely friendly - I really hope that they'll keep the friendliness up, because it's an amazing place and it'd be a shame if the service went down while the popularity goes up! All in all, this has instantly become one of my top 3 Brunch Spots in Dublin and I'm sure I'll be back often. Since this is also a Bar, I'll be checking their Cocktails out next - I've heard they're lovely and some of the best in Dublin. Thumbs up for 37 Dawson St!

If you're going, go for brunch, apparently. During the day, this place is fantastic! When I mentioned to friend I was heading here, her note on the decor was: 'I've never actually been to brothel, but I imagine classy ones are decorated like this'. Ron Blacks was nice but they've really kicked it up a notch with the fantastically colourful downstairs bar, complete with massive booths and great wall art. Upstairs, the restaurant is mad fancy, with draping white covers and candelabras. I went for the No. 37 herbivore, see the picture, and it was delicious! I completed my brunch with a bellini (or three) while chatting with The Girls (some of whom I hadn't seen in TWO YEARS!) The barstaff were great, my friend asked for a random cocktail with gin and was served up a fantastic concoction that tasted delicious. Reasonably priced for what you get (surroundings and service too!) I've already recommended it to a few people!

Moose heads and ancient biology charts, and devil horns, and monkey lightshades. Any review that can start off like this is always gonna positive, right! Popped into 37 Dawson St the other day for a mini-meeting / revival from the previous night. My accomplice asked for a hot whiskey and I asked for something with coffee in it. As they don't have a cocktail list (initially I thought this was a tad pretentious, but soon changed my mind), you need to just tell the barman what you're looking for, and he'll do his best to oblige. The hot whiskey was unlike any I've seen before - honestly I couldn't tell you what went in it - as far as I could see, it was still made up of your standard hot whiskey ingredients, but the method with which it was made was something else. A lot of straining, a lot of moving from mixing cup to mixing cup and a lot of setting on fire. Now, you may, like me, be a purist about this and perhaps reject the notion that a 'new' form of a classic could not only be as good, but better. Well be skeptic no more. This was hands down the best hot whiskey I've ever tried. Sweet but not too sweet, strong but not too strong, no overpowering clove flavour, sophisticated looking, the list goes on. Give it a go. Then there was my creation. The tiramisu cocktail. Creamy, boozy, caffienated deliciousness. Have a look at my photo acommpanying this to get the proper picture ;-) It cost just under 15 yoyos for both drinks, which again I thought was really reasonable.

Do NOT miss a this place! Make it a point to swing by as you're strolling through the nearby shops. We popped in for a quick drink and stayed for quite some time. The bartenders are welcoming and friendly, and are skilled at their craft. We decided to have Irish coffees with vanilla. The glasses were warmed, the foam was freshly shaken, and the Jameson and vanilla married together well. I loved every sip! Per the barkeep's suggestion, we also had the Philly cheesesteak bruschetta. Tender, medium-rare strips of steak atop crispy sliced baguette. The horseradish cream and the creamy cheese paired so well with the steak! We ended the night with fresh cheesecake. Do not miss the cheesecake!!!! (Yes.... 4 exclamation marks!!!!) creamy, fluffy, sweet... This isn't your run-of-the-mill cheesecake. Crunchy crumbles topped off with fresh fruit.... I just kept digging my spoon in until all that was left was the plate. Yum. I will be dreaming of that cheesecake until I can have it again. I hope this place is here to stay!

Hotcakes with bacon & maple syrup

This review is more for their brunch than anything else. Have only been here once in the evening time for literally one drink so don't really have an opinion This place is great for brunch - flavours deserve a 4 start rating. What I often find is that they somehow just miss the mark. Their hotcakes are delicious, especially with bacon & maple syrup. However on 2 occasions they have come out either entirely cold or just lukewarm. I've also had their huevos rancheros a few times & the portion was just a little small for me. My idea of a brunch is a good big hearty portion since you've missed breakfast.... Their cocktails however are unbelievable - or at least the Fresh To Death Sour is (this is a cocktail made with wine... unreal). Overall it's not bad. I just feel like there are better places to go if you're about town!

I had : 37 mason Interesting cocktail concept! We asked for a cocktail menu but were told they don't do one but the bar man will make whatever you fancy. They also have some ideas for cocktails on the menu but they feature styles of flavours rather than actual ingredients. I love surprises and am terrible at making up my mind so this is perfect for me! The old fashioned was gorgeous with whiskey and mandarin flavours. Brunch menu looks divine but only one of our party was eating. He got the pancakes which he devoured. Definitely on the list for brunch some weekend soon. Nice vibe, cool decor and clean bathrooms. Small terrace too for those rare sunny days

I was really surprised when i saw this places during the Day, you really can apreciate the decoration and every single detail which made this placer special. The brunch is quite tasty and the cocktails pretty nice too!

Since my truffle Parmesan fries has no salt or truffle oil, they just brought it to me to fix the way it should taste.

Seating is horrible in this place. The waiter was fine but when they made a mistake with my food; instead of remaking my dish, they just brought me the ingredients I said I could not taste. Horrible place and would not recommend.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

They are situated in the base of a sister restaurant, so from the main entrance the only give away is the neon "shhh" sign that sits over the stairway. Once at the base of the stairs an unassuming bookcase/shelf appears. This honestly got us, as we had no clue this was the entrance at first. We wandered around and into the bathrooms expecting some cool bathroom stall entrance. It wasn't until someone came out from behind the bookcase that we figured it out! We did let the "door" close and played with the art on the wall, including the bronze pig head, which turned out to be the hidden lever! Legit already wowed before entering! Upon entry, you are legit transported into a small speakeasy with a few high tops, a cozy bar and a small dining room beyond the second archway. The walls are stone, the lighting is dim and moody, the woods are heavy, and the vibes are immaculate! We sampled a few house-made cocktails, got an appetizer and a few main dishes. Spent a total of close to 2 hours, which is standard and actually timed. Which makes sense and I like, it keeps things moving, on time and allows plenty of time to soak it all in! The Jolly Roger and Espresso Martini were my cocktails for the night. There was a clear theme with both, as stout and espresso were highlights in both. For the app, we went with the fritto misto, which is a combination of fried cheese and veggies. Our mains were both pasta dishes. They were light and simple, yet complex and robust. They were tasty and impressive! Service was stellar from entry to exit. The host's, bartenders and our server were all top notch, friendly, helpful and a joy to interact with! Oh, I do highly recommend reservations! They are a small and very in demand spot, so trying to walk-in is a bit risky. Overall, we absolutely loved our evening at The Blind Pig! It's connected to the hotel, so if you are staying there, you can just head down the stairs to enter. From street level, use the entrance with the snail hanging above the black door with the address number of "3" on the door. It's so easy to walk past and not notice it. The entrance is JUST past the sidewalk patio for L'Gueuleton.
