Hash and Eggs Platter
Megan H.

Ordered takeout from here on a Sunday morning. Food is tasty and well-priced. We ordered the eggs and hash platter, as well as a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. We really liked the hash - it was more meat based than we usually get. I'll probably order the sandwich on a bagel next time. The service was quick and excellent. Will be back!

Was in Ashland and wanted lunch. Happened to notice this place next to Market Basket and decided to give it a try. So happy I did. Bright happy friendly place. Our waitress was super friendly but not bothersome. She understood we were there to socialize and left us alone accordingly. Had the 33 burger. It was really good. The right amount of char on the burger. And they grilled the bun!!! Perfectly cooked medium well (yes, I'm one of those!). I was asked if I wanted the lettuce tomato mayonnaise. No!!! So didn't have to deal with that crap on my plate. They also have a chip option. Which is great for me since I'm not a big fry gal. This will become my new Ashland spot. Much better than Ashland Ale House if you don't give a crap about Beer.

Cheese omelette with home fries and whole wheat toast.

The good: Service was terrific. I was seated quickly and it took me longer to decide what to order than for my cheese omelette to arrive piping hot. Coffee was refilled several times before my cup ever had a chance to be emptied. I'd come back based on the service alone, and I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed the food, which was fine, just nothing special. The omelette was flat - nothing light or fluffy about it. The home fries were bland - some caramelized onions or something for flavor would have been nice. The coffee was drinkable diner coffee. I did like that the toast was served dry with butter and jelly on the table for DIY. Prices were fair, but can get high if you add coffee and juice to your breakfast meal.

The pancake was fluffy and yummy and the omelet was so yummy too! Everything was tasting so good. The only thing I have to complain is that there wasn't enough waitress to help around the waitress also she wasn't paying attention to when I was talking she just wanted to go to the next table.

We were looking for a place to eat breakfast post soccer game. This place had a solid four stars and was the closest. We decided to give it a whirl. Service was fantastic. We were immediately seated and given menus. From the time we ordered to the time we left were were asked half a dozen times if we wanted to refill our coffees. That's service. The food.. my daughter loved her chocolate chip pancakes and my wife enjoyed he French toast. My eggs over medium were good and the wheat toast was solid. My home fries were cold, flavorless, and tasted like they had been around a few days. The bacon is where the wheels came off. I Carolina snider myself a bit of a bacon connoisseur. We all had bacon and it wasn't not edible. It tasted like it was bathed in salt. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what. It just wasn't good. I feel like Imay have caught this place on an off day. Next time I'm in Ashland I'll give it another try.

Don't be scared by some of the other reviews. It's a new place and I'm sure they are still working out some kinks. Now...we had breakfast here and it was superb! We were seated immediately and our food was served in under 10 minutes. I had eggs Benedict florentine which was awesome! The eggs were cooked perfectly, spinach was fresh, hollandaise was yummy! My friend had eggs over easy with sausage which he loved. The home fries are just superb with the perfect amount of seasoning and they weren't greasy at all. The prices are very reasonable. I love the 50s looking tables and chairs. Please give this place a chance. We need a good diner in this part of town!!!!

We asked the manager for some napkins to prop up the wobbly table and he said (quote) "Why don't you tell your kid not to stand on his chair" and walked away. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

This was our first time going since it had opened as the Fireside Tavern. It is fair to say we were underwhelmed. My wife ordered a Dirty Martini and it had a lot of vermouth in it which is not the correct way to prepare it. For an appetizer we got the Calamari which was very good. Crispy and tender with delicious hot peppers added in as well. For the main courses we got the Chicken Piccata severed over Gnocchi which was good but nothing special. Gnocchi were a bit denser than we like. Our other main was the Seafood Paella. On the plus side it had a lot of seafood in it, mussels, Shrimp, Scallops and a white fish. All of the sish was cooked well and was tender and juicy. However it did not appear to be cooked in a Paella pan so you didn't get some of those bites of crispy rice and the seasoning was off it had no saffron or tomatoes like I am used to. It was more like a plain rice that they added peas, carrots, and red pepper. Just didn't taste like any form of the paella that I have eaten previously. Jenna our server was awesome and attentive but not overbearing. She was fantastic and made for an enjoyable evening.

It always seems to have a crowd which must mean good things. The locals know it as the place to go. The inside is quite big and you get seated pretty quickly. The staff are friendly as well. There is a central vintage diner-like area, and a lot of booths and tables. The first visit I ordered off their special menu which I believe rotates. I got the breakfast flatbread which was really interesting and delicious. It was a soft flatbread crust with tomato sauce, eggs, sausage, caramelized onion, and probably some other things I am forgetting. This past visit I ordered the eggs Benedict - also good. But the star of the show was the "healthy breakfast bowl" that my boyfriend ordered. It's like a breakfast chipotle type of bowl with a delicious aioli, eggs, sausage, quinoa. I would definitely get that next time. Their menu has a lot of options, something for everyone, and various coffees as well. They do breakfast and lunch. As a side note their lime Rickey (non alcoholic) is a tasty soda! Prices are along the lines of any breakfast place these days, but not cheap if that's what you're after. Great place to go for breakfast (I haven't tried lunch) if you're around Ashland.
