We recently bought a new house and needed some electrical work done including installing a Tesla…read morecharger, adding recessed lights, upgrading our electrical panel, rewiring knob and tube wires, and adding in ethernet wiring. I did some Yelp bidding and Victor was pretty responsive and came out to our place for an estimate. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about code requirements and pointing out some things we should update and what things seemed fine to leave alone. After chatting with some other electricians Victor's rates seemed reasonable so we went with him. Victor and his team were prompt to work with us and fit us in between various projects. It still did take a few weeks to finish everything between waiting around for permit and PG&E inspections. However Reliable Electric coordinated all the logistics for those matters and would update us as things got scheduled. Our original scope of work was upgrading the panel, installing the Tesla charger, and adding recessed lights. Since we didn't have a big attic or a crawl space, they had to open up some of our walls to do the work. That's when we discovered that there were still knob and tube wiring in some parts of our house (was built in 1953). He recommended rewiring since that would work better with our new lighting and it would make things safer. While we had the walls open we decided to run some ethernet cables to different rooms for convenience. We discovered a breaker not working during the first week after we moved in but Victor was quick to come out and replaced it free of charge. He also did a few other gratis things for us like securing the outside wiring around the house and replacing some old switch boxes. A few months after moving in, some of the outlets in our house stopped working. Victor came out in a timely manner to look at the issue. He was thorough in testing out the breakers and the problematic outlets. Turns out it was a loose neutral wire in another outlet. It was promptly fixed and everything seems to be working again. Since this was our first home purchase and contractor project, here are some things I learned: -Reliable Electric does not patch walls. Since they had to open the walls for rewiring, we had to also find someone to do drywall patching. For future projects I will ask contractors what are some items that their scope of work will not cover. -While it was easy to coordinate with Reliable Electric directly, it may still be beneficial to work with a general contractor if you have a bigger project. We were doing other updates around the house (painting, flooring) and I felt like I had a second job coordinating everyone. -For future projects I will research and buy the materials myself to save on some costs. We've been in our new house for a few months now and are enjoying our updated electrical work!

Overall Reliable Electric was fantastic to work with, has reasonable pricing, and provides high quality work. Would highly recommend others give Victor a call!

Cannot recommend Juan and his team enough. I can't believe it…read more I recently bought my first home, and needed to get some lighting done. Being the insomniac that I am, I tend to operate and plan things later in the evening than during normal business hours. I sent a message to Brother Electric sometime after 10:45pm on Sunday night, with a very vague request for recessed lighting and ceiling fans throughout our home. Not expecting a response of course until sometime the following day. Within a half an hour, on a Sunday, late in the evening, Juan responded. I had plans to meet my landscaper the following morning, not 10 hours later, and wanted to see if Juan would be able to accommodate. Sure enough that wasn't a problem. We met at a little after 9am the following morning. We walked through the house where I told him what I wanted. He listened and offered suggestions and ways to both stay within my budget and still get me exactly what I was hoping for. I'm thinking, ok great! When can we get this done? Yeah... he started a few hours later. Monday night, he worked from 5-10:30pm with his team. He came back the following night to complete the job, so within 48 hours I had 18 canned/recessed lights, he swapped out those that already existed in the kitchen, I had new lighting/ceiling fans in our bedroom, he replaced all the outlets and switches throughout the entire home, installed dimmers... And the quality of the work is phenomenal. I could not be more pleased. Highly encourage all to use Brother Electric for all their electrician needs! I will be using them again for more work in the future! Thank you Juan and team!

Total Scam - Avoid at All Costs!…read more Jim, the owner of Los Gatos Electric, came to my house and quoted me $1,500 to remove an old generator. He demanded I wire him the money immediately, with ZERO paperwork or formal documentation. Foolishly, I trusted him and sent the money with zelle right away--big mistake. Later, I checked their Yelp reviews (why didn't I do this sooner?!) and started seeing red flags about their shady business practices. I called Jim to cancel the work and asked for my money back. That's when he got angry and said he'd only give me a partial refund. Since then, he's completely ghosted me--no calls, no emails, nothing. This is beyond unprofessional--it feels like a straight-up scam. I'm furious and frustrated that someone would take advantage of their customers like this. If you're thinking about hiring Los Gatos Electric, DON'T. Learn from my mistake and stay far away.

He only showed up to collect money. He left his incompetent assistant alone on the job who installed the 1st solar panel in the wrong place on my brand new roof. They wired the panels to the inverter and batteries so both are fried and not working anymore which will cost THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to replace. He took $5000 in a deposit which he WON'T RETURN. When I gave him the check, he said he'd email me the invoice which he didn't. I had to hound him for 2 weeks before he found the email in his draft folder. Then he sent his employee to measure my attic in the garage where he planned to install the inverter, but I don't have an attic in the garage. This same employee slept on the job on the roof. I have to go to small claims court to get my money back

Full master bathroom renovation in a townhome: I had the opportunity to work with Nestor and his…read moreteam on my project. From the consultation phase, I could tell Nestor was able to both listen to my needs and make useful suggestions -- helping to trust in his experience and ability to understand what I'm trying to accomplish in the renovation. Nestor reassured me that his team will take care of my needs and my belongings during the project and that the key thing is I'm happy in the end. He accompanied me during the material purchasing phases and ensured I got discounted pricing. We did encounter some challenges along the way, and the team was able to pivot in order to address those and get back on track. They were able to work while I was out of town and provided some updates to keep me looped in. In the end, we were able to complete the project that aligned with our design rendering. I would recommend working with Nestor, he understands how to make sure you are heard and ensure any touchups are addressed and satisfactory before we call it complete. One recommendation I have is the working team can save time by doing a bit more quality checks such as on wall painting. On a level 5 wall, which is hard to do and see blemishes it's even more important to do frequent, deeper scans and quality checks along the way so that way we much less touchups to complete. Not everything may go perfectly so patience is a part of the experience. To help you decide, let me lastly say another key reason to also work with Nestor is A2Z is yelp guaranteed, and had the ability to quickly get city permits and inspection appointments. Thank you to Nestor, Liss, and team.

Almost everyone on the project were A2z employees rather than subcontractors and I found them to have a strong sense of craftsmanship. They wanted everything to be done right and redid anything that wasn't. All this and their price was extremely reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to select them for future projects.
