After pre-purchasing 3 pairs of glasses and taking home 2, I had struggled more than a few times with the progressives pair and with their suggestion that my (then current) glasses had a prism and perhaps my new prescription was incorrect as it didn't convert right, sought out my optometrist (whom told me my prescription WAS accurate and that that I should be dealing with a more professional vendor whom knew the calculations). I also took it one step further and consulted an ophthalmologist who concurred. Returning, another employee noted that she agreed with the doctor and the prescription was accurate- just not applied properly and so I took home 1 pair of progressives and a pair of closer vision for computer. A little while ago, I went in to have the progressives checked as the sight line areas were in the wrong spots. The (new manager?) told me that the lenses were tilted in the frames and adjusted them, advising me to try them out for a while before coming in again to pick up my 3rd (and probably progressives so xtra $$). I returned as I was still having issues and after I was told by another ophthalmologist (the previous retired) that the way I was having to move and keep my neck position, wearing my glasses was a clear indication that they were not functioning appropriately. OK. When I went into the store, 2 employees that are new to me, had trouble finding my paperwork, argued with me about them, about whether ophthalmologist EVER gave out prescriptions and that even though I PREPAID around $600, that it had expired, but it was ok because someone had made a note. I asked the girl at the computer- verbatim- "Are you kidding me?, I prepaid", to which she snapped at me "Ok, now you're being rude". I asked her how that could possibly be rude, and the other girl was standing beside me shrugging. I explained that SHE, in fact was being rude to ME, and no one was raising voices, or bad language. The other girl, asked if we could just move on and get on with this, and I told them that I was now suffering major anxiety, was shaking and very upset, did not feel like I could deal with them and where is the manager. I was informed that the manager was on vacation, and they refused to tell me when she would return. I asked after the owner, stating I knew him once and can't believe this. I was informed he too was on vacation and had no return date. I asked how am I supposed to know when to deal with these people without having to phone the aggressively operated store daily. At this point, the quieter female employee became adamant about refusing to give me personal information and phone numbers. I calmly stated that I DID NOT ask for anyone's information or phone numbers, and that as a customer I had a right to complain as well as the right to appropriate customer service. The 1st girl stated 3x in succession how they will not give me phone numbers and "how am I supposed to know that you know Bruce, no one wrote down on the paper that you know Bruce", to which I replied " If I know him or not has nothing to do with how you are treating me RIGHT NOW, and what physical state you have put me in. At this point, it was repeated to me that "That's it, you're being rude, I'll have to ask you to leave". I told her "I have not been rude, obviously you know nothing of customer service or how to be professional. If you think I'm ******* rude, how about my husband comes in and let's you know what he thinks about it". She said "If that's what he'd like to do, he can do that". I stated I would complain to every medium possible upon returning home. Suffice it to say, I have paid for 3 pairs of glasses, received 2 pairs- 1 of which is not working for me and I did not EVER ask for $ back or replacement, just a working solution so that I may feel comfortable picking up my last pair and placing a new order for 3 more new pairs of glasses. Instead, I was shaking, crying, sickened to my stomach, forced to leave and cancel the rest of my day. read more
