Lucy delivers them with a warmth and respectful sincerity. She's generous with both her time and professional wisdom. I found Lucy's New West Optical having surrendered to waiting many weeks to fill my prescription for bifocals with transitions lenses in the 'retro' circular style this 64 year old guy wanted. lenses mid-way twix 'John Lennon' and 'Gandhi'. Nobody carried frames remotely like the ones I wanted. Several disappointments later I had given in to buying online. Walking off my frustration I stumbled across Lucy's unassuming shop. Not flashy like most. I stepped inside and was greeted by Lucy. Moments later she'd looked at the old battered example glasses, and then my prescription, and heard my desire for the 'transitions' coating. She quietly tapped away at her desktop and confidently committed to delivery in 7 business days. She came thru. I was so pleased I came back within days eager to buy a second basic pair for 'at home' wear. With the same absolute satisifaction. I wish I got even half the value Lucy/ New West Optical deliver in all the places I do business. Hers is one of only a handful of businesses I've ever been so moved to praise. I called New West Optical and she said to come in and she would see what she could do for me. Although the glasses aren't fully repairable, she took a good amount of time to make them the best they can be. She even refused to take payment! Most optical shops just wanted to make a sale and kept telling us she had to buy a whole new frame. Luckily, one shop recommended this place, which specializes in eyeglasses repair. I came here with her to get them fixed, and the owner's service was fantastic. They provide a one-year warranty on all laser welds and a receipt for tax purposes. During that time, I made multiple phone calls, visited the store several times, and submitted a complaint through LensCrafters customer service. Unfortunately, I received very few updates and several promised follow-ups did not occur. Most recently, after LensCrafters corporate customer service informed me that the store had approved a refund, I called the store and spoke with the manager. I was told the call would be disconnected due to line issues and that I would receive an immediate callback. After waiting 10-15 minutes, no callback was received, so I went to the store in person. While the store ultimately agreed to provide a refund, the overall experience was disappointing because of the prolonged delay and lack of communication throughout the process. I appreciate that a refund was eventually offered, but customers should not have to spend more than two months making repeated calls, store visits, and complaints to obtain a resolution. I hope LensCrafters improves its communication and follow-up process for future customers.
