This is definitely one of my favorite coffee shops here in the Imperial Valley. Since these past few years, there has been a recent trend of local coffee shops here in the valley. What I love about this place is that it is what I think the locals have been wanting for. A local business with a sense of community, morals, and quality service to there customers. The atmosphere @ 3:16 Café is welcoming, open, and inspirational. The frappes are AWESOME! The coffee smells amazing and there is more to come from 3:16 Cafe. I can see the potential that this coffee shop has. I personally support our local businesses here in the valley. If you're from out of town with no idea where to get coffee or a local here in the valley that wants to try something new, I urge you stop by and try 3:16 Cafe! Ordered a croissant sandwich and a Matcha.. The service is extremely slow, it took 34mins to get my sandwich, then I asked about my Matcha; she said it would be 10 minutes more. Why on earth would they not bring it out together at the same time, now I have to eat my sandwich with no drink. Not only did I have to wait forever to get my drink on sandwich but it wasn't even once a wait. My croissant was so dry and not tasty at all. Also my matcha was lacking flavor. First time visiting with a friend last week and it was AMAZING! It was super clean, very welcoming, and the food and coffee were delicious. I got the first crack caramel iced coffee from their seasonal menu and it was so smooth and rich in flavor. The BLT was so delicious and the prices were perfect for the portions you get. A lot cheaper than I'm used to where I'm from. The staff is extremely friendly and nice. Their prices are great and their milk alternatives are unique. They actually have lactose free milk, which I've never seen before and as someone who is lactose intolerant it is a true blessing. The store has a great friendly and warm environment. The reason why I am giving 3 stars and not 5 is bc twice already I have asked for light ice and they don't put light ice. So, not wanting the typical fast food staple but wanting something tasty for a reasonable price I decided on a Cuban Sandwich from 3:16 Cafe. Ever since this place opened I've been wanting to try one, well the wait was well worth it. The tender pork and house aioli were the perfect match. The sandwich was very delicious. I tried to eat while driving but couldn't do it or else it would be all over me. I had to wait to get back to the office to eat it and boy was my mouth watering, another worth the wait. If you haven't had the chance to try their Cuban Sandwich you have been missing out. Compliments to the chef! read more

BEST COLD BREW in the IV. The layout is really cute, service is great and fast. I got a black cold brew and it was so smooth, he even put it in two cups which made the coldness last longer. Cute little coffee cafe located in down town Imperial! Had a iced caramel macchiato and it was good. No complaints! On 11/26/18 @ 10:30 am, I experienced the worst cup of coffee EVER. There are several things that I absolutely hate: Satan, bad drivers and weak coffee (shops)! After eating at iHop and having to endure their wanna be coffee, I decided that I needed a real coffee fix. I had heard about the 3:16 coffee shop and thought I would give it a try as I was headed back to LA. It was 10:30 am not exactly early but I figured a legit "coffee shop" has coffee All day, I guess not. The dude behind the counter looked as though he was itching to go home, since the place was completely empty and clean, almost too clean. I asked for coffee (a simple house coffee) and the response was "we're all out" - my thought was how does a coffee place run out of coffee? and if you do, don't you just brew some more? The dude had to repeat my order 3 times and mentioned that my only other option was to order from the menu and I thought "fresh might be better? An Americano would have to do, plus a Mexican Mocha Frap for my wife. I looked around for the creamer and sugar and they were almost hidden from sight, like a where's Waldo thing! After an unusually long wait the dude handed me my order and began preparing my coffee with a calculated amount of creamer and a large amount of sugar. I handed my wife her Mex Mocha in a hurry, excited and anticipating my "fresh" cup of coffee. As the Luke warm water passed through my tastebuds and down my throat, there was absolutely nothing: no taste, no warmth, no buzz! It was basically church without a pastor, sheep without a pasture. It was flavored coffee water that should have given the dude purgatory for eternity! The owner of this joint needs to look into excommunicating this guy from serving at this place and looking into serving "real coffee". I left my coffee by the side of the street for the homeless and the birds. Since this place was a 3:16 joint I would just have to forgive and forget the inadequacy of my experience. read more

I'm basically the rat from Ratatouille in human form so my critiques are super long because I'm one hell of a foody, you've been warned I would have graded it 4.5 stars if I was able to. My ONLY critique for this cafe is about time management they are a bit slow on time (not too much) but because this is such a new place I know that they're just planting their feet on the ground so I didn't feel too bad about waiting. The coffees are of average price (3-4 dollars) but there are definitely some affordable options. And they're all one size which I personally like. The coffee I got in this visit was the Ice Vanilla Latte, it was not too sweet and not too bitter either it was well balanced and not overly sweet like I'm used to tasting with most cafe coffees which I found relieving since I don't like overly sweet things- but that's just my personal preference I'm sure you can make it sweeter if you asked. Food wise they have 4 unique sandwich options which I was hesitant about ordering since a sandwich was 8 dollars (a bit pricey for me, the lowly college kid) but I bought one anyways, I ordered the Hand Melt. I was sooooo surprised to find out that this sandwich was BIG. Not to mention that once I reached half of the sandwich I was already completely full- so if anyone is tight on cash and wants to indulge in one of these for lunch bring a buddy because this sandwich is to share. Apart from the size of my lunch it was also a very delicious sandwich the Hand Melt consists of a good thick amount of ham toppled with some melted cheese and grilled pineapple- strange ingredients combined together created a very harmonious taste and wavered nicely between sweet and savory. The bread was also really good and it was coated with butter mixed with herbs, crisped to a golden brown- I wouldn't be surprised if the bread was made there since it definitely didn't taste factory made. The atmosphere is great and everything is well kept and clean, it's small and quaint and perfect for the student scene. The style they choose for this cafe gives off a really calming vibe and the interactions between staff and customer show great hospitality and small town familiarity. Imperial Valley really needed a place like this. Ay but change those little succulents on the tables to fake ones maybe cus most of them were dying (lol) or at least give those poor plants some bigger pots. read more

This is a nice little place to visit if you're in Imperial. I usually grab something from here when they're having a farmers market going on, because it's nice to have something to sip on while you browse the little pop ups. I like the salted caramel frap, it's the right amount of sweet and salty, and the prices are fair, you'd be no worse for ware here than you would at one of the bigger chain shops. The only gripe about this place that even though the staff is friendly, they are super slow. Even when there are a few people in the place it's still slow. But I believe it's still worth going to, and if I could I'd really give it a 4.5 out of 5 because everything else is good. read more
