Horrible Communication, took way longer than promised, poor work. If their horrible communication and poor work above ground is any indication as to the work they did below ground I am in a lot of trouble The crews never showed up when they said they would. If they were running late or decided not to show up they never called. I lost a day of work on two separate occasions waiting on these guys just for them to never show. When crew left they never communicated with me as to when they would be back to finish the job. I ALWAYS had to call their office to get any information, they NEVER once called me. What was originally promised to be a 1 week project ended up being a month long ordeal. They left my yard looking like they had berried a body in the front yard because they never bothered to compact the dirt as they filled in the holes that they had dug. These holes settled a good 6 inches by the time spring came around. They settled another 6-8 inches once I took the water hose and repeatedly shoved it down into the grown 5-6 feet to soak the dirt. Had to remove and replace the concrete curbing around my tree because it had settled so much. The dirt that was piled up wasn't even left over the actual hole that they had dug which lead to the grass dying. Now, it comes spring time and I go to turn on my sprinklers and they didn't even bother to patch the 3'-0 long piece of pipe that they cut out of my sprinkler system when they were finished.

1 foot of copper pipe cost $3000. Price gouging!

Terrible customer service. A couple of hours to replace a foot of copper pipe and we were charged $3,000. Unfortunately, I agreed to the price because we were desperate. Realizing afterward that we were gouged I had no luck asking about a credit. The office manager was unwilling to provide any sort of credit. Preferred to keep the extra money instead of building a long-term business relationship.

These guys worked on our neighbor's house and ended up pumping an underground stream into our house, leaving 2-3 inches of water throughout our MIL basement. It destroyed carpet, drywall, plaster, baseboards, furniture, electronics, and many other possessions. This event awoke tenants in the middle of the night. They're stressed, have medical problems, and had to move out. 24 Hour Rooter Connectionz sent in a crew to rip up carpet and fans to blow air around and then they stopped talking to us. I guess they don't feel that repairing damage they caused is their responsibility - aren't bonded contractors supposed to have insurance for this kind of stuff? - and they are not returning our calls (today they hung up on us). A call to the state licensing board and followups to the insurance companies this group claimed to be using suggests that maybe they don't have liability insurance at all. If they are insured, why don't they just file a claim for this episode? 24 Hour Rooter Connectionz caused us about $10k worth of damage, we never even hired them, and now they refuse to talk to us. If you don't want to support people like this, or don't want to risk working with a possibly uninsured crew, please pick somebody else.

Needing a Sewer-Rooter Service ASAP, we put a message on our Nextdoor neighborhood group. We received a few recommendations and contacted Rooter Connectionz who was recommended by one of our neighbors who is a realtor. I called Rooter Connectionz and John and Austin arrived and scoped our sewer line. Even though the price they quoted for relining our sewer pipes, was way more than we expected, they had a large enough crew to start the next day. It was better than having a Honey Bucket delivered and using it for the next three weeks which was the estimate time from another company. The relining process was very interesting. The men that actually did the work for Rooter Connectionz were very efficient and we were impressed with their capabilities. John and Austin returned multiple times to check on the progress and kept us informed on how things were progressing. They made sure that we had use of our bathroom and kitchen facilities at night so we were pleased with that and appreciated their concern. The Downhill Windstorm put them back a day or two but no major disruption. John and Austin recommended that we have our water line done while they were here. We considered it for a short time and then decided not to do it this year. We would consider having them do the job if and when we have the water line done. We found the electronic iPad signing difficult in that it is hard to know what you are signing. Be sure to ask for a printout before signing so you are well aware of what it says and what your charges are. Rooter Connectionz completed the job and put our landscaping back in a reasonable condition. We are pleased that our relined sewer line passed inspection and seems to be working well. We would say, that other than the price being higher than expected, we would recommend Rooter Connectionz.

Very bad experience with multiple mistakes and poor customer service. I usually don't write negative reviews, but the job started in January and I'm still having issues in July. Removing tree roots from your sewer pipe is expensive ($14,600), but the extra stress and work this company put me through makes this price even higher. The first mistake was big. They messed up the installation of the pipe liner and blocked the sewer line. The first big hole they dug in my front yard turned into digging another big hole on the side of my house to remove the blockage. They couldn't remove the blockage from there, but destroyed my landscaped rock garden and broke a sprinkler pipe which they promised to fix. Then, to remove the blockage, they decided to take out my downstairs toilet, pull up the tile and dig a hole in the bathroom floor, adding weeks more to the job. When the sewer line was finally fixed I had to repair my landscaping and clean up what I could of the mess they made. Up to this point I had been very understanding and patient not even complaining of going without the sewer for four days or the damage they did to the street asphault. Covid19 happened, and a couple months went by with no word from them. They said they were going to send someone over to clean my carpeted stairs because of all the extra traffic and machines they carted down to the bathroom. They also said they would fix the sharp tile that was jutting up behind the toilet, which I had told them about back in March. Then, when I turned on my sprinkling system this year I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. They forgot to fix the cut pipe. All that water gushing out of the buried broken pipe re-ruined my landscaping. They came back and re-dug the hole and while they fixed the pipe I was left with more stress, another mess to clean up, and needing to re-re-do my landscaping. Then the other day (now July) I noticed my downstairs toilet leaking. It was a brand new toilet so I assumed there might have been a mistake made when they installed it. Plus the toilet had an annoying slight rock. When the workers showed up I was informed by John that I was being silly about the tile and that I was lucky they came to look at the toilet at all. This person had the nerve to inform me that I should be thankful for all the "extra" work they had done for me. I tried to explain to him that the "extra" work was all due to their mistakes. This person even had the audacity to imply that I was lying about the toilet leaking. Why would I? I was so angry I had to walk away. The other worker, Mike, who I had dealt with a lot, apologized for his colleague as they were leaving. He hoped I wouldn't give a bad review. I assume John was being such a rude, condescending bully because I am a 65-year-old woman. He probably needs to be better trained in dealing with customers. He definitely needs to listen more and talk less.

On June 30, 2020 I contacted 24 Hour Rooter Connectionz to clean the main sewer drain. When the technician Alex Halton arrived, he explained that it would cost $249.00 to run the rooter down to clear the pipe. He also explained that another technician John Jordan, would arrive between 1200 and 200 PM to inspect the condition of the pipe with a camera. Alex removed the toilet in order to access the sewer line and immediately tells me that I need a new toilet flange and that he could give me a 'deal' on a new flange since he is already removing the toilet. Alex finishes rather quickly and tells me that he was able to remove what appeared to be wipes or possibly roots. He collects $249 for the service that he claims he performed and reiterates that John will be the one who will re-install the toilet after inspecting the pipe. When John Jordan shows up, he runs the camera down the pipe, and it goes out 64 feet where he claims that it stops because it is obstructed. He tells me with a great deal of confidence that the sewer pipe has collapsed, and that the camera cannot go out any further. I follow him outside as he explains that the camera has a sensor on it that can be located above ground to pinpoint the location of the camera in the pipe. He pulls out a device and starts moving it over the area where the sewer line is generally located. Using green spray paint, he marks 2 spots where he claims that I will have to replace the pipe. After making the marks, John tells me that I need to replace the sewer line and that he can have a crew working on it in the next hour. He tells me that the work will cost $7300 at which point I ask him to please provide me with a written estimate for the work. He says that he can give me 'member pricing' if I agree to do the work today, for $6300. Once again, I ask for a written quote. He continued to press me to accept the offer instantly even though I kept telling him that I would not do it, followed by him reducing the price again, urging me to accept, "What if I do it for $5500 and include a $1500 hydro-jet main sewer flush?" We return inside the house so he can collect his equipment, I followed him down the stairs to the basement to ask him not to reinstall the toilet because I wanted other companies to be able to check out the line and provide a bid. He once again starts in applying pressure to make the sale, "who are you going to call?" he asks; I told him that I did not know yet. He then adds that he will also repair the toilet flange for the basement toilet at no additional cost and that I was not going to find a deal like this anywhere. John would not give up trying to get me to bite; he asked me why I would not agree to such a great deal? (again!) I told him that the way he was strong arming me into having him do the job made me feel like I could not trust him. He replied with "I don't know what strong arming means". This guy would not take 'no' for an answer and his behavior bordered on harassment. I had lost count of how many times that I had told him that I would not authorize any work without obtaining multiple bids. I know that this story sounds redundant, but this was the technique used by John in an attempt to persuade or perhaps a better word is to coerce me into having him perform the work that I suspected was unnecessary. I had had enough of John's arrogance and I just wanted him to get out of my house. I asked him "would you pressure one of your male customers the way that you are pressuring to me?" He looks at me and says, "the deal is off". At that point he knew that I was not going for his con job. The next day I contacted another company to clean out the sewer line. It was cleared in 30 minutes. He also ran a camera through the entire length of the pipe, and it was intact. Alex Halton and John Jordan are engaging in a carefully orchestrated scheme to defraud customers. Alex shows up first to clean out the sewer line, but he does not try very hard. His job is a well-choreographed performance to make you believe that he actually trying to clear the sewer line. But if he actually cleaned out the line, then there would not be water and waste obscuring the pipe to make it seem like the sewer line had collapsed. John strolls in with his camera to convince you that your pipe has collapsed and since you cannot run the water or flush your toilets, he thinks that he can pressure you into a job that you don't really need. Upon leaving John went back to the spot he made on the grass to remove it. If this had not been an attempt at fraud, why would he remove it? I have the entire show on surveillance footage....

The good: they had a technician out right away. The bad: the drain still isn't draining. The technician explained that it would still be slow unless we added on a $400 hydro clean. I told him that wasn't in our budget at the moment. After he left, the first time it was used, I went in and pulled a huge clot of hair out that was at the top of the drain. The pieces to the tub were put in incorrectly with an extra piece actually left on the lip of my tub. (Photos in comments) When I called back, the person answering the phone said that in the notes the technician had noted that "customer had felt they were being taken advantage of". I only said we weren't going to pay 400 for a hydro clean- I didn't feel that we were taking advantage. They offered to send someone back out but I will never do business with a company who feels they need to belittle a customer because they didn't get the more expensive service.

And I run downstairs to find my basement flooded with water pouring in from my cement wall. I called ASAP left a message on their voicemail and got a call back within minutes. I explained my emergency and Kevin, the owner, personally came out that night to help me get things assessed and water turned off in places to prevent further damage and coordinated with his crew to be out in the next 48 hours to fix everything. I thought it would be thousands of dollars given the off hours and emergency nature of my issue but no the entire job was less than $1000. Shocked the hell out of me. These guys are truly honest. In my fire state they could have just charged me anything and I would have paid it. But they figured out the issue which wasn't as huge as I'd feared it would be and charged based on the time, part costs, and the job itself. I feel insanely lucky and am happy to shout from the rooftops that this company should be in everyone's address book and the first call if they have any plumbing issues. I'm beyond grateful to all of them for their help and quick and exceptional work and beyond that their honesty in their pricing. Thank you guys!!!! Highest recommend ever!!!!!

The old furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving one year, and they had a new one installed and running the same day. I appreciate the employees who have provided good service over the years. In the beginning I referred friends to SH, saying they are not necessarily cheap but they do good work. (Looking back, I realize however that I overpaid for the new water heater and other some other major expenses, I was just naïve and didn't do due diligence. More about overcharging below.) That being said, I've given up on SH. Too often my encounters with its employees go wrong. The person they send may or may not have experience with my issue, and they never ask for help from other employes. One recommended I have a new air intake installed (he came twice and couldn't get rid of the awful noise) and when I finally got a different guy over, he fixed the whistling noise just by recaulking the area; it was gone in minutes. Another guy made excuses for the (unsupervised) people who ripped up large patches of drywall because they didn't know to go through an interior wall; SH paid for the extra drywall repairs, which I appreciated. Another guy freaked out about the "sewage" he imagined must be under the board beneath my sink (there was none). Another couldn't tolerate me saying that I had never had a leaky condensation pipe until they replaced the AC. My 10+ years in my home meant nothing, and this is consistent: many times the repairmen will not give credence to anything I say, and however neutrally I state it, react as if I'm challenging them in some way. The latest incident is the $1800 estimate for replacing my kitchen sink (labor only). The guy said it would take 2-3 hours to remove the old sink (!!) and added that he would "cap the pipes" so I wouldn't lose water to the rest of house. I mean, there's upselling and then there's just BS. The plumber I hired removed the old sink in 20 mins and is charging a few hundred dollars for the whole job (including installing the new one). And of course the water to the house didn't have to be shut off, there are valves right under the sink. I'm really appalled they would just...lie.

Gage, their "14 years of experience" supervisor, came out to do a complimentary check of her furnaces. Mom has two furnaces, side by side. Gage changed the filter for the downstairs system, and said the upstairs one didn't need changing. Clearly, he was aware that there were TWO furnaces in the house, as he checked them both and they are side by side, and so, as the experienced person that he is, should have been aware that there was likely two duct systems. Mom then inquired how much it would be to have the air ducts cleaned and sealed. Gage quoted her the price of $3280 to clean out and seal her air ducts in her home. She said she wanted to think about it so he left. Later she called and said she wanted the service done and asked for the $3280 quote in writing. It never came. However, Gage came back to do the cleaning and as he was working he told mom it was going to be DOUBLE the price because there were TWO duct systems. Mom objected, pointing out that he knew-- or should have known-- that when he gave her the quote-- obviously because he knew there were TWO furnaces. He tried to say that he hadn't noticed there were two, and then went on about how he had to pay the other employees $2000, etc. He talked to her for about 40 minutes, trying to get her to agree to the bill of $6560. She wouldn't accept his excuses for doubling the bill. He stopped after doing the upstairs ducts and left. Mom then got texts and phone calls from Scott Hale telling her that she owed them $3280, and that someone was coming to the house to pick up the check from her. She called their customer service, and explained the situation-- that Gage had given her the quote of $3280 for the whole house, and that he had only done half the work. She then got two invoices sent to her, both for $3280. She thought they were just duplicates. However they were apparently for the two systems. She was notified someone was coming to finish the work downstairs and collect the money due. She told me the whole saga because she was extremely upset and anxious about what had happened. She hadn't slept for two nights. She felt like they were trying to rip her off. She didn't trust Gage to be honest with her. She was worried they were going to insist she pay the $6560, which she was not agreeing to. She said she was only willing to pay the initial quote to her of $3280 for the whole house. My husband put a call into the company. The customer service person was pleasant and said she would look into it. Then Gage called and said he would give mom a $300 discount for the second bill but that was it. Mom refused to pay the doubled price. Just to end the ordeal, she agreed to pay $3280 for the half job they had done and just didn't get the downstairs ducts cleaned. Even after all that, the company was insisting on sending someone to her home the next day to collect her check. She refused to allow them to come. She was that mistrusting of them. She mailed the check instead. I echo many of the reviews here--- don't use this company. Don't let your parents use this company. They are not trustworthy. They are heavy-handed in their treatment of older people. I just wonder how many other people have been pressured or tricked into paying DOUBLE the quoted price because Gage the supervisor "didn't notice" there were two duct systems when giving the quote. It sounds like a sneaky scam. Watch out! And if I could choose zero stars, I would. Crazy that they have three 5 star reviews posted on their website. So misleading.
