This company at first seemed great, but unfortunately seemed to forget they had already told me they were scheduling me. This message is from Jim through Yelp "Great! We'll book it at 4:30pm then. I'll create an account for you to book the appointment. Can you please provide me with your complete name, address, phone number, and email address?" I received another email that said should we book this for a time between 4-6? when they had already said they were booking this slot for me. I provided all of the information they asked for and today when I wrote them to confirm, they said the appointment is not available. Very disappointing as I had called several companies to come out and give me a bid on this electrical project. Why promise an appointment and then go back on what you have already said? While they may have quite a bit of great reviews, if you say you are scheduling me and then do not actually do so, and try to schedule me for a different day other than what we discussed, then apparently this job was not that important to you.

Full Version:Made 1st contact with Trevino Plumbing on November 4th 2019 via text. Bid was given on Sunday November 24th to add a utility/mop sink (whatever it is called) at my retail store location. Job started on Tuesday November 26th. I asked for a double utility sink with a gooseneck faucet that would allow for large mop buckets and pots and pans to be able to be filled and cleaned in.  Also required a Tankless water heater to be installed that would support filling up mop buckets and to clean large pots and pans.  This is when I asked for a double sink upgrade since it would be better for usage.What I ended up with is.... 1.) a double utility sink (PERFECT)  2.) a short immovable bathroom faucet that when turned on ran water directly over the partition in the double sink. (So WRONG) 3.) a 6 gallon Tank water heater. (again WRONG) Explained about the faucet not being functional.  It was replaced in a reasonable amount of time.  But not with a gooseneck.  Just a easier to access faucet.  Fine, whatever!  Didn't need to get all weird since the replacement is functional. But now it comes to the TankLESS water heater.  We have been going rounds about the hot water heater. I expressly asked for a tankless heater from the beginning.  The estimate/bid has Tankless listed on it. The invoice listed and charged me for a tankless heater to the tune of $446.76  But alas a 6 gallon tanked heater was installed under my sink. (retail price is $250ish) Keep in mind that this heater is for a retail location and a tanked heater will not work due to ADA requirements.  Hence the tankless heater!  Not allowed to block the underneath of the sink for wheelchair access. After much back and forth, a tankless heater was installed...But it is a tankless heater that is meant for a HAND WASH station.  The tanked 6 gallon went back to the plumber.  Also the retail cost of this heater is about $140.  Will only supply about 8 ounces of warm water.  No where near enough to wash dishes.The resolution given was that they would come out and install a tanked heater again.  That won't work due to ADA requirements.  Also I paid for a tankless heater to be installed. The last time I heard from the owner was on Jan 20th.  Stating that when he "got back into town" he would get right on it.  Here it is Feb 10th and this company will no longer return my texts nor my voicemails. I PAID THEM IN FULL $2,235.08 on December 4th 2019. Update: As of Feb 11th.  Plumber is stating they did everything fine and they did perfect.  I say no it isn't because there is still no hot water to double utility sink!!!

The pipes had already been cleaned under the sink, but it turned out there was a blockage in some old pipes in the wall. He came back the next day and opened up the wall in a bedroom behind the sink in the bathroom. He was able to clean out the pipes and replace a pipe that had been corroded and ended up breaking during the auger process. Brent and his coworker worked quickly to diagnose the problem and also cleaned up everything before leaving. I was very impressed with his work ethic and thoroughness with the job, as well as his honesty regarding what needed to be done. He gives a two hour window when he is coming to allow you to plan your day and his time for scheduling is very reasonable and not far out. Sometimes same day, or a few days later, depending on the situation. I will definitely call Brent again when I have plumbing problems that need to be fixed.

This week we had an issue with one of our heaters, and Dan and Allie came with a $300 repair kit and a $1,600 replacement water heater. Dan quickly saw that the gas valve replacement kit would solve the issue and immediately went that route. Eight years ago Dan revealed the "secrets" of making a good water heater last a good long time: 1. Keep the temperature setting constant, even if leaving the house for an extended period. This keeps the water tank from contracting and expanding due to changes in water temps. 2. Check the anode yearly and change when necessary. Owner manuals tell how and why. 3. Run household water softener systems at the lowest possible setting. Such systems are the enemy of water heaters. OWH's prices are below others I have checked. Water heaters are very expensive in Utah now because of our rules requiring ultra-low NOX heaters to be used in accordance with California regulations (yes, California). Ultra-low NOX heaters are ultra-expensive.

The old furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving one year, and they had a new one installed and running the same day. I appreciate the employees who have provided good service over the years. In the beginning I referred friends to SH, saying they are not necessarily cheap but they do good work. (Looking back, I realize however that I overpaid for the new water heater and other some other major expenses, I was just naïve and didn't do due diligence. More about overcharging below.) That being said, I've given up on SH. Too often my encounters with its employees go wrong. The person they send may or may not have experience with my issue, and they never ask for help from other employes. One recommended I have a new air intake installed (he came twice and couldn't get rid of the awful noise) and when I finally got a different guy over, he fixed the whistling noise just by recaulking the area; it was gone in minutes. Another guy made excuses for the (unsupervised) people who ripped up large patches of drywall because they didn't know to go through an interior wall; SH paid for the extra drywall repairs, which I appreciated. Another guy freaked out about the "sewage" he imagined must be under the board beneath my sink (there was none). Another couldn't tolerate me saying that I had never had a leaky condensation pipe until they replaced the AC. My 10+ years in my home meant nothing, and this is consistent: many times the repairmen will not give credence to anything I say, and however neutrally I state it, react as if I'm challenging them in some way. The latest incident is the $1800 estimate for replacing my kitchen sink (labor only). The guy said it would take 2-3 hours to remove the old sink (!!) and added that he would "cap the pipes" so I wouldn't lose water to the rest of house. I mean, there's upselling and then there's just BS. The plumber I hired removed the old sink in 20 mins and is charging a few hundred dollars for the whole job (including installing the new one). And of course the water to the house didn't have to be shut off, there are valves right under the sink. I'm really appalled they would just...lie.

Gage, their "14 years of experience" supervisor, came out to do a complimentary check of her furnaces. Mom has two furnaces, side by side. Gage changed the filter for the downstairs system, and said the upstairs one didn't need changing. Clearly, he was aware that there were TWO furnaces in the house, as he checked them both and they are side by side, and so, as the experienced person that he is, should have been aware that there was likely two duct systems. Mom then inquired how much it would be to have the air ducts cleaned and sealed. Gage quoted her the price of $3280 to clean out and seal her air ducts in her home. She said she wanted to think about it so he left. Later she called and said she wanted the service done and asked for the $3280 quote in writing. It never came. However, Gage came back to do the cleaning and as he was working he told mom it was going to be DOUBLE the price because there were TWO duct systems. Mom objected, pointing out that he knew-- or should have known-- that when he gave her the quote-- obviously because he knew there were TWO furnaces. He tried to say that he hadn't noticed there were two, and then went on about how he had to pay the other employees $2000, etc. He talked to her for about 40 minutes, trying to get her to agree to the bill of $6560. She wouldn't accept his excuses for doubling the bill. He stopped after doing the upstairs ducts and left. Mom then got texts and phone calls from Scott Hale telling her that she owed them $3280, and that someone was coming to the house to pick up the check from her. She called their customer service, and explained the situation-- that Gage had given her the quote of $3280 for the whole house, and that he had only done half the work. She then got two invoices sent to her, both for $3280. She thought they were just duplicates. However they were apparently for the two systems. She was notified someone was coming to finish the work downstairs and collect the money due. She told me the whole saga because she was extremely upset and anxious about what had happened. She hadn't slept for two nights. She felt like they were trying to rip her off. She didn't trust Gage to be honest with her. She was worried they were going to insist she pay the $6560, which she was not agreeing to. She said she was only willing to pay the initial quote to her of $3280 for the whole house. My husband put a call into the company. The customer service person was pleasant and said she would look into it. Then Gage called and said he would give mom a $300 discount for the second bill but that was it. Mom refused to pay the doubled price. Just to end the ordeal, she agreed to pay $3280 for the half job they had done and just didn't get the downstairs ducts cleaned. Even after all that, the company was insisting on sending someone to her home the next day to collect her check. She refused to allow them to come. She was that mistrusting of them. She mailed the check instead. I echo many of the reviews here--- don't use this company. Don't let your parents use this company. They are not trustworthy. They are heavy-handed in their treatment of older people. I just wonder how many other people have been pressured or tricked into paying DOUBLE the quoted price because Gage the supervisor "didn't notice" there were two duct systems when giving the quote. It sounds like a sneaky scam. Watch out! And if I could choose zero stars, I would. Crazy that they have three 5 star reviews posted on their website. So misleading.
