After several unsatisfactory dealings with two other local companies for our heating & plumbing needs, we decided to try Tingey plumbing because of their favorable reviews on several on-line sites. We were very pleased! Every employee we spoke to or met with was extremely polite. The repairman explained the problem clearly and gave us two options for repair. The first option was less expensive, but would likely result in calling a plumber again within a year or two. The second option would truly fix the problem. He was spot on, as we had already had the first option done two previous times, and the problem kept recurring. We appreciated that the price quoted included all that was necessary - there were no extra fees for add-ons such as we have encountered with other companies. Also, it took a great deal of time to fix the problem - we more than felt the price was fair for the time required to fix it. The owner even drove over himself with another piece of equipment so that the job could be completed quickly. All in all, you might find cheaper prices in some of the teaser-ads that get mailed out, but those companies will likely charge you a ridiculous diagnosis fee ($60-90 for 15 minutes), they will try to sell you multiple other Add-ons whether or not you truly need them, charge you double if it is a weekend or evening, and there is a good chance that you will be calling them again after their temporary fix fails. We have seen all of these gimmicks and were pleased that Tingey did not engage in any of these practices. We would recommend them to anyone who wants something fixed without being taken for a ride. read more

I have had more problems these past two years with my sprinklers, heating system, water heater, swamp cooler, kitchen disposal, etc. The first time was my main sprinkler pipe broke which was a true emergency. I decided to call Tingey Plumbing & they were here same day within hours, fixed the problem immediately, and offered a variety of choices which were specific to my needs personally and financially. After that first visit, I have never even thought about calling anyone else. My water heater then went out, my kitchen disposal and, again, they were here immediately and their prices were outstanding. They have become my go-to plumbing and heating service crew whether it's an emergency, starting up my swamp cooler/winterizing it, or pricing for a new bathroom/kitchen project, parts, or AC/heating units; Tingey Plumbing just cannot be beat! Their customer service is a white glove 5 star quality service. I have never called back an emergency repair crew due to either just horrible customer service but mainly because of all the price gouging! It's been 2 years since I called Tingey Plumbing for that broken sprinkler line and I have nothing but excellent work and service, stellar products, and a bank account that has remained very happy to show for it. Our Mr. Steam unit failed to make steam just a few months after the installation by the plumber we purchased the unit from . The plumber diagnosed the problem and made 2 attempts to replace the heater unit and the plumber charged us for the additional labor costs to replace what they said was not due to their technicians installation , but the unit itself must have a manufacturer defect . I called the manufacturer and did some troubleshooting and the representative from Mr Steam company called Tingey plumbing to come and verify why the steam unit failed again after it had been replaced for the 3rd time . The owner of Tingey plumbing showed up and soon had the problem diagnosed and found the other plumber did not install the original Unit and the replacement units were not correct . Tingey plumbing came to rescue and replaced the Mr Steam unit again and it has been working great everyday for over a year and a half now and I couldn't be happier ! I highly recommend their reliable services . We called them again for another plumbing problem just this week on our rental property and they were able to come and fix the leaking water line to our fridge and replace the kitchen faucet the same day! we love these guys and would be foolish to call anyone else to come and take care of our needs . I have used Tingey Plumbing for years. Mr. and Mrs. Tingey run their business with integrity and I am delighted to have finally found them. I am writing today to praise my most recent interaction with the company. Years ago, I had been told by another plumbing company (large starts with a "M" and it's on the top of your google searches) when they installed my soft water conditioner that the soft water was plumbed to go everywhere including to my cold water line in my kitchen sink. Not able to afford replumbing those lines, I have been using bottled water and a water cooler for the past five years. It's been quite a pain. Today, the Tingey plumber Jordan actually tested the water coming out of various taps and gave me the welcome news that in fact the soft water is not piped into my kitchen sink. No more plastic water bottles and lugging heavy water jugs! Jordan is also fixing some connections and piping that were installed with inferior parts by another plumbing company. They are simply an amazing company and the number one repair provider I have ever worked with in in 40 years of dealing with repair companies. They are not only great at repair, they have always been exceedingly fair with my family. This is especially true on pricing repairs after initially coming out to diagnose the problem and then coming back to finish the work. They never overcharge. They are so good and so reliable that my own children even know their phone number and who to call if we have any plumbing, air conditioning or heating problems. They are like part of my family. I haven't had the best of luck with plumbers. I own a couple of residential homes in Ogden that I rent out. One of the homes ended up having some serious plumbing problems. The water tank went out and there were pressure problems. After getting quotes from plumbers that worked out of their homes (trying to save money) Someone told me to call Tingy Plumbing. There tech was there the next day. He called me and explained exactly what needed to be done and why. The work was done immediately and my tenants were happy to have hot water and decent water pressure when they showered. The bill was fair and I know where to find them as they have a real business location in Salt Lake City. I have since arranged for them to come out to my Heber residence to inspect all of my plumbing and my HVAC system. Cheapest isn't always the best. They provide reliable, timely service and they warranty their work. If a problem, they respond immediately and fix it. I highly recommend them. read more

I have interacted with Ken on at least 4 occasions thanks to a recalcitrant radiant heat system. Ken's a busy guy but does call if excessively late or arrives as scheduled, the work gets done, and the utility room is left in good condition. Ken is knowledgeable, exhibits professionalism, and answers the questions posed of him regarding the system (he should charge more for that - maybe he does?). It is sometimes difficult to get a plumber out here in the hinterland (Kamas/Oakley) so I am glad he services this area. I don't have comparable bids on his work re: the aforementioned heating system so I can't address his fees but his only competitor out here seems to be Neerings and they don't give it away either. That said, he should take more time off and treat his family to a nice vacation (in the summer, please not in the winter!) read more

Our grandkids came up for a visit, and our boiler started making a LOUD grinding noise. Not a good time to go without heat and hot water! I've been using Tingey Plumbing for the past two years for everything and anything related to plumbing. I gave them a call, and I explained the situation as best I could. Ken and John came up first thing in the morning. When they heard the LOUD noise, they suspected something got into the fan through the combustion intake pipe. Thirty minutes later, they found the problem. A bird had gotten into the fan (poor bird)! They cleaned, inspected and reinstalled fan. Problem solved! Everything about working with Tingey Plumbing & Heating was a pleasure. We had a water leak that sprung up and required frequent bucket swapping to keep up with, so we were hoping to get it addressed quickly. Tingey's scheduler/dispatcher is very friendly and on top of things. We used Tingey Plumbing again for more extensive work, moving some pipes, breaking concrete, rough plumbing, etc. to finish a basement. We also referred them to an elderly couple in the neighborhood who had some plumbing issues. Jordan ended up doing both jobs and was thorough, clean and professional. They told us later that Jordan shoveled the snow from their walk before he left as it snowed the morning of their service and they were both homebound. He's a class act. Ken Tingey, master plumber, returned my phone call and discussed the water heater issues, options, and price points with me within the hour of my leaving a message about my situation.
