Luke at Miller came out in summer and we talked about the best way to insulate my home with 3…read moreseparate attics - 1 newer and 2 older. He was prompt and offered several good suggestions. Because of the lower slope roof, I decided to increase the baffle length between the rafters to get the baffles closer to the ridge line in each attic. This would allow the blown in insulation to be as deep as possible but without plugging the baffle to ensure there was good airflow from the eve vents to the ridge. After the roofers left in November, I talked to Luke again. He came out the next day for another look because I had to make some changes after the roofers did some things. We talked and he re-quoted within a day and was here with David his helper 2 days later. Here are all the good things Luke did. He has long experience at Miller so took to heart listening to what I wanted and making suggestions. He was careful to keep the OC77 insulation out of the baffles. (Miller uses the best from Owens Corning). I wanted a hybrid job where most was blown in with batts covering the crawl boards along the ridge lines so I would have access by moving the batts if it is ever needed. Luke did this perfectly cutting and fitting the batts. The added insulation makes a huge difference and we are just starting to see the heat bill cost savings. Luke and David were careful putting plastic down and over things. They even taped a piece of cardboard on a furniture cabinet corner that might have been abraded by the traffic. Lots of little things that made for a happy customer. Luke drew the picture and gave me the gas company rebate forms to complete and send it. I wanted a good job but Miller gave me a perfect job.
