This place is inside mavericks bar so don't be confused like I was when you walk up. I got the big platter with the plans of eating the tacos, some bites of sides, a few bites of meat and take the rest home since this was my first visit and I wanted to taste everything. The birra taco was so good. The other taco was great too. I didn't care for the sides as much as I had hoped to like them. I might have been too full at that point. Not sure. Lol. The brisket I got was mostly bark. I'm one of the weirdos that doesn't like the bark. I love the fatty pieces MORE. And I should have asked for no bark but I wasn't thinking. At the same time...I don't think a serving should have mostly bark if not asked or specified. Lol so I was a little disappointed with that. Get your stretchy pants on and head to 225degree BBQ! Soooo good! We went for lunch on a Thursday, around 1:15 and we walked right up to the counter to order. There were only two other tables there eating at that time- so it's a great time (after the crowd) for you to go! Menu has many items to choose from featuring traditional BBQ & sides, "Mexicue" (tacos, quesadillas, birra ramen, etc.), and daily specials! We got brisket quesadillas & birra tacos and could not finish our plates. The consume was one of the better ones I've had and the salsa verde had a nice flavor and heat. The food was excellent and both quesadillas and tacos were STUFFED with meat!! (A good amt of meat for the $) The texas twinkie was great too and basically melted in my mouth from all the cheesy meaty goodness. The staff were very nice and attentive. When taking our order, the guy was explaining the menu and their business history as he knew it was our first time, which was great at building a connection. We ordered a beer and a margarita and the bartender was also nice. They even checked on us a couple times while we were eating. As we were leaving, there was a table with some staff at it and they thanked us for coming and the expected pleasantries. They have a couple of pool tables, air hockey, and a big buck game (that didn't appear to be working yet). They have a stage, very clean restrooms, & a lot of space in the building. silverware, napkins, bbq sauce, non-alcoholic drinks & to-go containers are self-service from the counter at the end of the bar. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more of their food and helping support their business as they continue to grow! Some of the best brisket I've ever had, and the pork burnt ends were great as well. They have an item called the "Twinkie" which is a jalapeño scooped out and filled with cheese and brisket. Amazing. I don't get down to Arlington for meals that often because of where I live, but this place has got a permanent spot on my local eateries list. Highly recommended. read more

I picked this place with my friend to try Texas bbq for the first time and we did not like the flavor or taste of the meats at all. Got the brisket, birria tacos and spare ribs. The brisket had a hot dog taste to it which I thought was not appealing and the birria tacos looked dry if it wasn't for the broth they give on the side. Maybe Texans do tacos differently than in California, but my friend and I thought the food was horrible here. read more

Here's the thing. You've likely heard the hype about OTHER spots in town that rhyme with Murtado. The raves that you have heard are true, but just wait until you have 225. (now) Tucked inside Mavericks Bar - one of my spots in Arlington - is 225. They've come a long way since the food truck, and it shows here. A full menu, where you can order alcohol, and some nights listen to love music, 225 is truly the new spot. I'm going to start with a recommendation to order the Birria Tacos. SPECTACULAR! Perfect crunch with lean beef, matched with a delicious sauce, it can't be beat. I suggest also grabbing a bottle of BBQ sauce as well. Perfect mix. Where 225 beats the competitors is service. This very night I visited the place I mentioned outside of 225 and the service was atrocious. 225 has always been spectacular, and you don't have to walk across a patio to grab a drink. Y'all. The BBQ here is amazing! It's located in an unassuming sports bar and they specialize in BBQ with a Mexican twist. Yummm! Our brother from CA was visiting and wanted to try TX BBQ - this place did not disappoint! They made us a sample BBQ platter with brisket, ribs, tacos, sides and all the fixins. So good! My favorite was definitely the brisket - it was so flavorful and fell apart as you pick it up. My brothers loved the local beer on tap (from a brewery right down the road!). I was visiting from California and visited this establishment during my trip. They were slightly busy I'd say, as it was during a Cowboy's game. The staff definitely had the vibe of being stressed, and I because of this I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the service. The staff wasn't the friendliest in the world, but I work in retail, so I get it. I ordered a chicken sandwich and side of mashed potatoes, and should have checked in the bag to confirm I had what I needed before leaving. One thing retail has taught me is to trust but verify at all times, and I let myself slip this time which costed me. I would not have guessed that a BBQ restaurant would forget, or neglect, to give me any BBQ sauce. But to my dismay, upon arriving at my hotel, I realized that this was reality. An unlikely experience for sure, and it was disappointing. I was very excited to try authentic Texas BBQ for the first time, and sadly I was let down. Such is life though, and I am giving 3 stars on the assumption that their food good when you do have their BBQ sauce, as that is all that I can really do based on my experience. read more

The new place is great but kind of hard to find. But you should find it. Food was great but pretty pricey. Would be great for special occasions. The Birria tacos were fabulous. The sliced beef sandwich only had 3 slices of meat for $14. It needs at least 2 more slices. Food is brought to table but you have to gather your own utensils and napkins. Went here with my husband and his sisters because we were in the area. While in line they take things off the menu (probably bc it's while it lasts). Lady who took our order was very sweet and nice! Loved her enthusiasm and her attention to detail. We waited about 30 mins to get two orders of quesadillas (sisters said they were good) As my husband and I waited we wondered where our food was. 20 minutes later we got curious & asked where our food was. Come to find out the waiters took the ticket down and chefs didn't do the rest of the order as it was considered complete. The cashier I previously mentioned corrected the ladies and after 10/15 minutes brought out our order and even included an extra two tacos. (Nice of her ofc it wasn't her fault but for the amount of money we paid and the long wait; it's questionable ) food was good, nice cashier & an ok ambiance just really bad experience. On top of that, the waitress with glasses has a really bad attitude. Needs to fix it or find a better job if she doesn't have good customer service. We were nice to her.
