Recently, I had a great visit touring this property. The leasing professional, Shane, was accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly. After seeing the apartments, I was sold on the community. I asked Shane if I could put down a deposit right away, and he helped me through the financial questions I had regarding the process. I went to the bank and got a cashier's check, called my roommate, and we completed the applications with the property manager, Adam. And this is where our problems began. From the very first conversations my roommate and I had with Adam, we felt a sense of hostility, as if we were holding up his day. He even made a comment to us, "This is always the worst time of the day." Granted it was close to the time of closing, I had been working to secure this apartment since 2 pm that same day. We left that day, after completing the applications, discussing our impressions of Adam and how we felt he had been condescending and patronizing. We chalked it up as a misunderstanding, yet we felt uncertain about our security of the apartment. However, we were still hopeful we'd find out more information soon. The information we received from Adam was very vague. We did not receive copies of any of the documents we had just signed, he did not provide us details about the next steps, nor did he provide me with an expected timeline of when to hear more information. For me this was a bit unnerving, as I am looking to secure a home, regardless of this specific apartment, or not. So naturally, I called the property to find out a bit more the next day. Come to find out, Shane is no longer available to speak with, but the normal associate Alex has returned. Which is understandable, however when I asked questions to Alex about my application, he offered very little evidence to suggest he was even aware the apartment had been reserved. I then asked when I might be able to either hear from Adam who was unavailable, or hear a decision. Alex then told me it could be up to a week to hear back. Of course, at this point I was frustrated. I was told I could move in by Friday. So I asked to speak with Adam and awaited his call. A few hours later, again near the end of his workday, I received a call from Adam, at which time I felt temporary relief, until I soon was made to feel like a nuisance. After trying to confirm if my documents provided to support my application, were adequate, I was met with a lack of clarity and attention. The resolution to that conversation was an email chain, with a one line question from Adam, to which I promptly replied. After which, never to be heard from again. Fast forward to Thursday, one day before my anticipated move in day. I still have not heard from Adam near the late afternoon. After reaching the office voicemail 3 times, I finally was able to get through to Alex again. No surprise, Adam isn't available. About an hour later, Adam calls, telling me my documents aren't sufficient. At this point, I'm fed up. It's one thing if they're not sufficient. It's another to call to tell me that the DAY BEFORE I MOVE IN! Adam had had these documents since Tuesday. I had been looking for clarity for over 72 hours. read more

I have been a tenant of the Lofts for over 10 years and have been through a lot of management changes, the good and bad. Adam has been above all the best manager of the property since I lived here. he listens to problems and takes action to resolve them as quick as possible. This is large property with public access which can create a lot of issues but Adam is quick to resolve them. To sum up this review it's been a great place to live in because the management team has done a great job. read more

Well here's an honest review from someone who stayed for a year. I actually wished I could have moved out sooner. Pros: Nice place. Good view if you're facing the promenade and not the alley. Excellent pool. Clean gym. Management is very cordial and I met some great friends there. Cons: THE FLOORS SUCK!!! I literally almost got into a fist fight with my neighbor downstairs a couple times cause I had people over after "quiet" hours (10pm) 2k for rent and you gotta tip toe on egg shells. My drunk friends were obnoxious at times so I take full blame. I apologized with $100 dinner gift card but that didn't really help. The man works weekends and needs his sleep. What can I say. More cons: Someone committed suicide right next door to me a month after I moved in. It was on the news then somehow "disappeared." Someone moved in right away and out after 7 months. I thought you were supposed to notify someone within the year after but maybe the new tenants were okay with it? Who knows. Finally: Just got $75 dollars back out of my $500 deposit. I am a neat freak but got charged a $120 for a painting fee even though the walls looked Exactly the same when I moved in. $145 cleaning fee when the place was spotless. SPOTLESS! Minus maybe the oven. $75 for concrete reglaze which I guess I'm okay with but there was a huge scratch on the floor when I moved in which was touched up with a marker Lol. Oh oh and I had to yank out a massive disgusting load of wet hair with a hanger that was clogging the shower drain when I moved in. Didn't even bother management about it even though they didn't bother to check it before leasing the place. Sometimes being too nice and happy blows. Lol Again management was GREAT. I love them but everything else was total a waste. They initially had like 1.5-3 stars when I moved in I think and now they're at a 4 which I'm not really sure why. They have a revolving door of tenants. People really just pass by. Maybe people are afraid to give bad reviews because they need references, or maybe they really loved it there but wanted to move out anyway? :P Oh! And their internet SUCKS!!! Same with their 3rd party customer service. If you wanna fool yourself like I did and say eh I'll live, then go for it. Lol but my Netflix would cut out through everything I watched. Good luck having a romantic movie night with your significant other. Also, I was on the top floor so I didn't get much street noise but if you're on the first floor above the restaurants, get ear plugs. I'm saving this review should it somehow disappear btw. Gotta love social media. PPS I almost rented their sister company down the street but they take section 8 LOL read their reviews before you decide to go there. You'll catch a few homeless guys sleeping in the structure btw. I left one of them some food after one of our bbqs. Its not excessive but worth mentioning since it's public parking. So...you want to live in a beautiful loft in the middle of a busy city, enjoy great amenities with your neighbors (including free yoga and boot camp Wednesdays), have a caring staff who are diligent and responsive in protecting individual and community needs and concerns (Doreen is amazing!), understand that people aren't perfect within a community and will require adult communication to work out kinks AND don't want to pay $3000 a month (believe me, people, I looked in Downtown L.A....and that was by Skid Row!) If so, The Lofts are where you want to be! Or...you want to be part of a community AND in the middle of a city AND not hear any noise, think that it is reasonable to have 24-hour access to perfectly maintained amenities, expect your every need to be addressed immediately, want people around you to think and behave exactly how you want them to, and pay $1500. Then, may I suggest a community in Anaheim for you instead...in the middle of Disneyland...it's called Fantasyland...between Tomorrow- and Frontierland. Look, I don't want to disrespect or negate other people's perspectives and experiences. However, they are exactly that - different perspective that a smart, prospective tenant should consider before deciding to move here. So, in that spirit, here's mine: I live on the side that looks onto Long Beach Blvd. with four other neighbors on my floor, so I don't relate to lots of exterior noise save for the muffled sound of activity on the street - you know, city stuff; I have had to be a grown up and interpersonally explain to my upstairs neighbor (who lives on the upper-most floor and, of course, shouldn't be expected to know) about the resonant nature of concrete floors - and she was totally cool and accommodating about it, by the way; no one on my floor has pets, so I can't relate to what happens in other areas of the complex; I work out early in the morning and I'm not training for an upcoming MMA fight, so the gym is perfectly fine for my needs; I'm 40 years old, so I don't often feel the need to go balls to the wall up in the pool area, don't mind putting down a deposit for having lots of friends over if I do, and don't mind bringing plastic cups if it means that everyone is safe up there; have lived in many types of housing in Long Beach - house, duplex, mother-in-law unit, apartment - so I think I'm qualified to compare The Lofts with other settings; and, finally, have decided to renew my lease here and commute to L.A. after looking for comparable lofts up there, only to find out that there is NOTHING comparable to what I've got going here! Oh! As a BIG aside, I told Doreen about recently losing a family member to cancer and, on top of being so kind and caring, was blown away to receive a floral arrangement from her at the Memorial - you don't get that kind of care anywhere, people! So, take my perspective for what it's worth, do your homework, speak to other people who already live here, and be a smart shopper. Pretty much the worst place to rent in Downtown Long Beach since Redwood Urban took over. Lived here for a few years with my fiancé and had nothing but bad experiences. Poor management and nothing gets fixed! Don't let that rooftop pool fool ya! Plenty of other places in downtown Long Beach to live, with way better management!!! The Lofts are great. Yes, I acknowledge that it can be noisy (hence the 4 stars) but you are in Downtown for crying out loud, what do you expect? If you want peace and quiet then go live in the suburbs. If you want to be in the middle of the action, including steps away from great bars and restaurants, then this is the place to be. I moved in to the Lofts this past February....WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. It's a shame that Lyon Management does not check in to see how the site management is doing...they would be shocked. My floors are peeling and I have put in 6 requests...6!!!!!!!!! Dogs pee in the hallways and the elevators work sometimes...when they don't - you can expect to be late to work or sit waiting for up to 20 minutes to get to your apartment. This place sucks...Folsum Prison would be better. Now I'm stuck in a lease in an over-priced POS apartment. SOS!!! Stay clear of this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Are you curious about the Downtown Long Beach living experience? If so, you will not find a better place to call home, than the Lofts at Promenade. Is it affordable? Sure it is. Is it cheap? Of course not. But, you are paying for a great living experience. It's nestled in between Broadway and 3rd St (the coolest area of Downtown LB). It sits on top of, arguably, the best bbq joint in Long Beach. A few feet away you've got a great place to relax at a beer house (Congregation). And you are half a block away from all the restaurants and bars on Pine Street (between Broadway & 3rd). Plus you have a Nordstroms Rack, literally, a couple of feet away! What about the loft and the complex itself? It's modern and beautiful. Parking is secure. And you've got access to a beautiful roof top pool, a respectable gym, a business center, and a property management staff that is awesome (Doreen, the property manager, does such a great job). Now keep in mind, you are choosing to live in the heart of the busiest area in Downtown LB. It can sometimes get noisy on the weekends (people out and about getting their groove on). But on most mornings and evenings, it is quiet and beautiful. I've had the privilege of living in some of the nicer places in Downtown. The Lofts at Promenade, hands down, was the best living experience! read more

My boyfriend and I have lived here for about a year and we're about to renew our lease for another year. This place does have its pros and cons but for us the pros outweigh the cons. For starters, this place is in the middle of Downtown Long Beach so there's always something to do. Whether it's some random festival they have going on in the Promenade or the weekly Farmer's Market at the City Place, there's just always something to do. Just recently, we went down to Pine for Superbowl Sunday and it was sooooo nice to be able to drink freely and not worry about driving home because we lived within walking distance from the bar. In addition to that, there's a Walmart, Fresh & Easy, Albertsons, Ross, Nordstrom, Starbucks, breweries, and bars with nightly live music close enough to walk to. What's also great is that you can also take the Long Beach Passport for free to Shoreline Drive or the Queen Mary. My boyfriend and I went to the Queen Mary for their Halloween Haunt and we didn't even have to drive or pay for parking! We just hopped on the free shuttle and they took us there and back. I have a difference of opinions regarding some of the cons that others mentioned like the noise, the slow elevators, and the bad pet parents. First of all, we moved in with the understanding that we were going to be in living in downtown and by the train station and that there would be a certain level of noise. In all honesty, it does get noisy if you have the door or windows open during the day time but if you really want to drown out the noise, closing the doors and windows does help. We have our TV on majority of the time anyway so the outside noise isn't as distracting. The noise bothered me the first couple of nights but now I'm pretty used to it. We've had family and friends spend a night and they were able to get over the noise as well. The only noise issue I do have and the only reason why this place is not getting a five star is because of the people above us but then again it's not completely their fault the floors and ceilings are thin. Other than that, we really don't mind the weekly bum fights or the drunken quarrels in the parking lot across the street. (If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of production companies filming shows and commercials. I think Dexter filmed a couple of episodes across the street from us.) We kind of expected the noise when we moved in so I don't know how others thought that this wouldn't occur especially when you're right smack in the middle of downtown. As far as the slow elevators and the bad pet parents, we really don't have that problem because there's less units and less people on our side which is facing Long Beach Blvd. I think majority of the people who have bad experiences live in the building facing either the alley or the Promenade. Since there's more people in the other building, I think that's what causes the delay with the elevators. We usually don't wait more than 15 seconds before the elevator comes. I love the fact that we have a gym and rooftop pool. I can't tell you how nice it is to relax by the pool during the summer or read a book in the lounge areas on a cool night. I love that a lot of the "essentials" are within walking distance. I love that when I have people over there's plenty of parking, things to do, and places to eat at. I love that all the appliances in our unit is upgraded. Before we moved here, we visited several other lofts and this was by far the best overall. We went to Pine on 6th first but were totally turned off by the gnats in their courtyard and the layout of their floor plan. I can't tell you how many lofts we visited before finding this and I'm so glad we found it. Some of the ones we visited were either ridiculously expensive, in a bad neighborhood, or cheap but with no parking unless you wanted to pay $500 extra a month and walk 3 blocks. Yes, it is on the tad expensive side but the way I see it, you get what you pay for and you're really paying for the amenities and the conveniences this place has to offer. We don't have to pay for parking. When we walk out of our door, our cars are literally right there. I can walk to Walmart at 8:00 at night and still feel safe. Everyone that's visited us has loved it regardless of the noise. It's really a nice place to live if you like to entertain and be in the city. It's probably not ideal for people who are looking for quiet living and not into the bar scene. We haven't had any problems with maintenance, as a matter of fact, they've actually been pretty quick to respond to our calls so I don't know why it's taking longer for the others. The leasing office and the maintenance team are great and always friendly with us. However, I do have to agree with one of the raters here in that the Consolidated Smart Systems are absolutely horrible!!! The technicians are rude and I have never had a problem with my DIRECTV until I moved in here. read more

The Lofts at Premenade has been the best living experience for me. Not only is the location amazing- close to the 710, many great restaurants and bars, Metro line one block away and parking is included. The amenities are the very best in Long Beach, including the rooftop pool and the great neighbors. I have been most impressed with staff that works in the building from Property Director, Karrisa to the maintenance staff. Very pet friendly complex! The complex is ideal. read more

To start off, the rooftop pool is amazing. The best in all of Long Beach! Like in other reviews I have read, this is located in an urban area so there is always something to do. Bars, restaurants, shops are all close by. Literally, walking distance!!!!!!! The ins and outs of the building are all positive as well. The parking lot is secure, and there are cameras everywhere. Not to mention the security guy is so nice! He always makes sure I am okay as I stumble my drunk self through the building. Shout out to what ever your name is!!! The lofts themselves are very comfortable. Mine personally has an amazing view. Since the new additions to the Promenade, the view is even better!! The hallways are always kept very clean and tidy. Never came across a problem with cleanliness. The feel of the building is urban so it keeps me feeling young. As for the staff, they're all on their A-game and get to things promptly. Love them all although sometimes I feel that the manager doesn't interact with the people that live here. Overall I have to give this place 5 stars! Well deserved! Highly recommend. read more

This is a great community - interesting people, upscale amenities, very friendly and proactive staff, exceptionally clean, etc. Apartment building communities like this one can be rather difficult to find because the actual apartments are really cool! Most of the other apartment leasing companies make their apartments look like...Irvine...scary. The Lofts are the opposite - unique. Only lived here for a few weeks as of this review. So far I'm very happy with these apartments. Good quality fixtures throughout, AC, and W/D in unit! The rooftop pool, hot tub, and gym are really nice. Overall this place is pretty quiet and I barely hear my neighbors. The neighbors I've met in the hallways and elevators are very friendly and I feel like I'm going to love it here. The location is top notch with it being a block from the train for commuting purposes and right in the middle of all the great restaurants and shops in DTLB. read more

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! 1. Elevator has been down for months and the parts on its way...right! 2. The place is always dirty, and the elevators smell 3. New Management is cheap, which is why elevator and cleaners suck 4. Cars are broken into, security is a joke, but they know how to use their cell phones, that's all they are watching, not our cars. 5. Gym is always dirty and door is broke 6. Main entrance doors are hard to open, they are broke 7. Management likes to put confidential personal info on your door, its easier for them. 8. Fire alarm goes off, causing building to exit, during the night 9. Parking lot sucks, because you do not get a close parking, that's for business parking, and the parking entrance is always broken. 10. Office business area, the printer, computer or fax never work...very frustrating Bottom line, I live here, this place isn't work the rent. Its not luxury, its frustration. The new management is cheap and wants to save money at your expense and convenience. read more

I have lived at this property for two years and have no complaints. The building is new, clean, well maintained, and in the best location in all of Long Beach, which is downtown. Access to transportation is excellent, with the 710 freeway within 2 minutes from the complex and the closest metro blue line stop only a block away. The building is very secure, including the parking garage. The amenities are good, with the rooftop pool, gym, and business center, all of which I have taken advantage of during my time here. The units are great, with the urban loft motif of really high ceilings, concrete floors, and exposed ventilation system. My unit in particular has a good view of the downtown promenade area. There is noise at times during the evenings, which is to be expected from any urban residence. Closing windows can quickly remedy this issue. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. They really go out of their way to make sure residents feel welcome and important. Any issue I have ever raised has been resolved quickly and thoroughly. Doreen is the best property manager any tenant could ever hope for. In a nutshell, if you are looking to live in downtown Long Beach, this property should be given very serious consideration. The lease rates are expensive, but are worth it in my opinion based on what you are getting in return. read more

We currently still live at these lofts, and we look forward to my lease being up in a few months. This may just be one review, but many of our neighbors feel the exact way about the management company as we do (Redwood Urban manages these lofts). We pay so much money to live here, yet dog stains are found easily in the carpets, the leasing office currently has a woman who is the furthest thing from being courteous to tenants, management is passive aggressive with day to day issues, management requests are handled very loosely, etc. The lofts themselves are nice, and the rooftop is a great amenity as well (even though the furniture was ripped with exposed foam for about 8 months until something was done). My urge to leave this review here is because we looked at Yelp before moving here, and ignored a few negative comments from the year 2014 and wish we had given them more credit. I have spoken to couples asking me on the Promenade if I would recommend this building, and my answer would be no. At least not with the current management company. There's such a large turnover on people that have lived here, we have lost 4 neighbor's on our hallways alone in the past 4 months. It should truly be a one star review, but I give it two for the loft itself and the amenities we have. I am a very positive person, but we have given management so many chances on making rights from small circumstances to large ones like safety- and the times they come through are minimal. Do not move into this building unless you want to up 7am every morning for trash trucks..worst noise I've ever known.if you value your sleep these lofts are the worst..right this second trash truck right out my window for 25 mins..Horrible.until the fix the noise problems or move trash trucks until later in day.i would never recommend to anyone.fix the problem!!! for how much we pay.should not have to deal with this.everyday of the week. read more

have lived here for nearly a year and love it. The grounds are kept clean, and when something isn't working, they fix it right away. I live in the building off Long beach Blvd which I think is best since it only has 4 units on each floor. Noise from other units has never been an issue. the windows are solid quality and keep most outside noise out, but it will never be silent. the blue line goes by frequently, but it has never been an issue for me personally. if you need dead silence to sleep, I don't recommend living the city/loft life. The staff is always so friendly and seems to know all the tenants by name, so even though there are 100 units, it feels small at the same time. Regarding the requirement to give 60 days notice that someone wrote about, I don't think that's a SUPER strict rule. First, they send you a reminder prior to that to give you your options. Second, I asked if an exception could be made and only gave 35 days notice and they granted it without issue. We are only leaving because of a job my fiance took, otherwise we would be renewing our lease for sure. Only suggestion when signing your lease is to find out the location of your unit since some of the balconies face the parking structure or a building 10 feet away, and if you have the choice, go w/ the building of LB blvd. read more

i recommend the lofts to all who can appreciate city living. great expsense was spent to lessen some of the downfalls of the area. like sound deffing walls and windows. FOB and cameras on doors and elevators for security and a very professional staff headed by Doreen O (who's hot) thats available 7 days a week. ya gotta love the rooftop pool and gym! topped off with the ocean breeze and convenieces of being close to what long beach has to offer i.e. beach work entertainment transportation dining, the pros out number the cons. its exspensive, no doubt and so are all comprable buildings 6th street and lower. been here 5 months so far so good read more

I had a place here from June,2011 to June 2012. I regretted it almost immediately. Way too expensive, very noisy, really not worth it. Yes the pool on the roof was nice, but nothing else made it special. The tv/internet system was aweful, charges for every little thing, like having a few people for a bbq, were way out of line, especially what they already charged us for just to live there. The staff was great though, loved Doreen as the manager, but I guess she is no longer there. Just know, it's really going to cost you to stay here, and you really won't get much for it for the money they charge. read more

I loved the building but didn't enjoy loft interiors. The building looks very modern until you enter one of the units. Units are very dark with incredibly depressing colors. EVERYTHING IS BROWN!!! My grandmother would have enjoyed brown walls with brown floor and brown counter tops - not me! I loved the building but couldn't deal brown sadness... Im not sure what were they thinking - they should just paint the walls white and cabinets black or grey. That would make a huge diference!! read more

I've only been here a couple months, and I absolutely HATE IT. First, the elevators are the slowest EVER! Second, their parking gates NEVER WORK. It sucks when you get out of work tired, and you have to come home to deal with gates that don't work. For the money I pay it is not worth it. read more
