We hired Tony to help us with the demo and re-build of our basement due to a drain tile project we had to get done (by another company). I wasn't looking forward to working with a contractor given nightmare stories I have heard from friends who have dealt with nightmare contractors, but Tony was the complete opposite. He was upfront, direct, and wanted to make sure we got what we needed done. Putting our basement back together again after the drain tile was installed was complicated to make sure that the drain tile was not punctured while putting our walls and flooring back together again. I was in need of small things done around the house. I initially tried to do it myself but, I failed! It took me half a day to attempt placing the closet rods only to make the wrong holes on the wall. It pays to have skills, have the tools, know how to use them well, and be creative to fix things! This is exactly what Tony did for me. He placed my closet rods, fixed my sink handle, and put up my curtain rods and a place appropriate nails to hand a rather heavy frame in less than 2hrs! He even hung the curtains and the frame for me. He's also very neat and kept cleaning after himself. On top of that he was so nice to remove old screws and patch up the old holes for free! I'll definitely recommend it to anyone who is not skillful or simply doesn't have the time to figure things out. His prices are very reasonable as well. Tony was hired to fix imperfections in dry wall in my den, and paint this wall, retile and repaint laundry closet, retile fireplace surround and re stain mantel and surround of fireplace. I can give 4 stars to all work that was done not by him but by tile guy he brought. All painting was extremely sloppy, with missing parts. in den and laundry room both. He connected washer and dryer hoses incorrectly, and all towels, blanket, satin sheets, my clothes and delicates instead of cold/cold were washed on scorching hot water and rinsed in it, which resulted in several thousand dollars of damages which he refused to pay; when he connected hoses correctly cold one was leaking. Sloppy and incompetent work. no responsibility. I had purchased black grout, and it looked medium gray. he blamed that on issues with grout. When tried on marble leftovers, it was black, thus it was problem created by Tony. again, sloppy, no following grouting instructions and no responsibility taken. They on 2 tries were not able to reattach mantle correctly, and blamed it on difference in tile thickness, yet tile I had purchased was the same thickness. My perfectly fitting previously fireplace surround is all in cracks, nicks, and holes now. I would say people like Tony should be out of business. Small claim court will re-coup property damage-eventually. As well as my deposit. read more
