My door got kicked in and I didn't want to risk not being able to lock it, so I did a quick search and found 2 Guys Construction. I requested a quote on Yelp and Tony responded within minutes. I sent photos of the damages and he advised he will come the next morning. The next morning, Tony came with two different parts because he wanted to make sure he didn't waste mine or his time driving back and forth to the store. He was respectful that I had to call into a meeting while he was working on the door. Lastly, I felt completely safe with him in my house. read more

Tony came to my house and immediately tried to charge more money for what we had agreed on. His partner immediately asked to use my bathroom, dirtying the towel. Then came back in with the wrong thickness drywall after I had been very clear about what was needed. When I asked he use the correct thickness he stormed out swearing at me. Do not do business with this company. read more

Tony was great! We communicated over text for a couple days while the weather couldn't make up it's mind but he gave me a call when he made it out to my property and was eager and energized to help me get the job done. He was honest about the challenges of the job but was committed to getting it done the same day and only a couple hours later he sent pictures of the finished product. Will definitely be contacting him again if/when the need arises! read more

I had major damage to my units ceiling after a plumbing incident. The plaster was in bad shape and needed major repairs. He showed up on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. The quality of the work was impeccable and the price was great! I needed a bunch of things done (pictures put up, curtain rods, furniture build, etc), and wanted to take advantage of my time off from work to get it taken care of. Tony responded and took care of my to-do list within the same day without charging me an arm and a leg! He was professional, respectful, friendly, and had an eye for detail. I will definitely be reaching for future jobs. Highly recommend. read more

We hired Tony to help us with the demo and re-build of our basement due to a drain tile project we had to get done (by another company). I wasn't looking forward to working with a contractor given nightmare stories I have heard from friends who have dealt with nightmare contractors, but Tony was the complete opposite. He was upfront, direct, and wanted to make sure we got what we needed done. Putting our basement back together again after the drain tile was installed was complicated to make sure that the drain tile was not punctured while putting our walls and flooring back together again. Tony and his team were diligent to make sure they used the best tools/supplies/product to preserve our drain tile and to make sure our basement looked finished again. He and his team were easy to work with and I highly recommend them for any home project you may have. read more

I had two small drywall jobs that I didn't want to tackle myself - replacing some drywall a plumber cut out, and replacing some other drywall we had to rip out after a roof leak (and what's more, the wall studs underneath weren't very even, making it a tricky job). Tony did both jobs for a very fair price and the results look amazing. He finished the work in a single trip, while other companies quoted me twice the price for a job that they said would take 2 days. I would highly recommend 2 Guys Construction for drywall repair jobs. read more

Tony did a great job fixing our door frame that our dog chewed on, and took on an extra task putting up shelves in our bathroom without any hesitation. He was on time and extremely efficient. Very friendly. Great customer service skills. Thank you Tony! read more

I was in need of small things done around the house. I initially tried to do it myself but, I failed! It took me half a day to attempt placing the closet rods only to make the wrong holes on the wall. It pays to have skills, have the tools, know how to use them well, and be creative to fix things! This is exactly what Tony did for me. He placed my closet rods, fixed my sink handle, and put up my curtain rods and a place appropriate nails to hand a rather heavy frame in less than 2hrs! He even hung the curtains and the frame for me. He's also very neat and kept cleaning after himself. On top of that he was so nice to remove old screws and patch up the old holes for free! I'll definitely recommend it to anyone who is not skillful or simply doesn't have the time to figure things out. His prices are very reasonable as well. I'll definitely keep calling him for more stuff! Thanks Tony! read more

Tony did a great job assembling several pieces of furniture we purchased. He was easy to schedule. What I appreciate most is that I some how overlooked getting a quote from him. When he completed the work I asked him what his fee would be. He could have charged me anything at that point! But he was honest and charged me a rate that was very fair and reasonable. He earned my trust! I'm using him again in a few weeks. read more

Decided to go with this company based on the previous reviews. Immediately I was contacted with a quote and request for more pictures relating to water damage in my hallway wall. They were able to come out in 2 days and fix the issue. Also helped fix a misaligned interior door for a small price. Will use this company again in the future read more

Tony was hired to fix imperfections in dry wall in my den, and paint this wall, retile and repaint laundry closet, retile fireplace surround and re stain mantel and surround of fireplace. I can give 4 stars to all work that was done not by him but by tile guy he brought. All painting was extremely sloppy, with missing parts. in den and laundry room both. He connected washer and dryer hoses incorrectly, and all towels, blanket, satin sheets, my clothes and delicates instead of cold/cold were washed on scorching hot water and rinsed in it, which resulted in several thousand dollars of damages which he refused to pay; when he connected hoses correctly cold one was leaking. Sloppy and incompetent work. no responsibility. I had purchased black grout, and it looked medium gray. he blamed that on issues with grout. When tried on marble leftovers, it was black, thus it was problem created by Tony. again, sloppy, no following grouting instructions and no responsibility taken. They on 2 tries were not able to reattach mantle correctly, and blamed it on difference in tile thickness, yet tile I had purchased was the same thickness. My perfectly fitting previously fireplace surround is all in cracks, nicks, and holes now. I would say people like Tony should be out of business. Small claim court will re-coup property damage-eventually. As well as my deposit. read more

I wanted to have two different accent walls in my living room and hallway painted. My project was a bit different than most people would expect. I wanted an actual design with different width, silver lines on a teal wall. 2 Guys Construction was very responsive from the get-go and absolutely grasped my vision right away. Tony, the manager, gave me great input as to how the project would progress, and explained exactly how he would make it happen to ensure I would be satisfied with the result. He completely blew my mind with his knowledge and ability to get the job the done. But the absolute best parts were the fact that they work very quickly, clean, and their prices are unbeatable! The quality of their work FAR EXCEEDS the price of their services! I'm very, very, very happy with the their services, their professionalism, their prices, and their ability to bring my vision perfectly to life! I would recommend 2 Guys Construction to anyone! Tony did an excellent job. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. I would highly recommend.

I did a major renovation from out of town and had a few contractors out in some shoddy work and take advantage of the situation. I reached out to Tony in hopes of supporting a smaller, local business. He was super quick to respond, showed up exactly as stated and completed the entire list of odds and ends jobs that I requested. He made multiple trips to Home Depot and stayed late to complete all tasks. He is professional, down to earth and honest. I recommend him wholeheartedly! Tony even came to fix something for me weeks after and ended up staying to hang up some wall hangings for me at no cost. He truly loves what he does and was a pleasure to work with. I live in California and was in need of a person to renovate one of my units in Chicago (painting, kitchen cabinets, floors, tile,). I have NEVER selected anyone to work on a project from any site but since I am not from Chicago, I took a chance on him. I've never met him in person, only phone communications. I tell you, it was a relief to know Antonio was prompt and honest. He showed up everyday and his craftsmanship was on point, he is the best. When he wasn't sure if he could do a task, I hired someone else to come and handle it. I love my unit, it is brand new. read more
