It's a cute "dive bar" with limited spirits, but lots of "authenticity". On Tuesday we wanted a burger but they only offered Taco Tuesday. Limited mixers, but I don't think anyone cares. Dog friendly! read more

I can't believe how often I have seen drug deals going on in front of this place when I just happen to be driving by. I was sidetracked by watching one of the drug deals last week with a person that looked homeless, that I drove straight across at the stop signs, instead of turning left to go to Highway 101 to eat at the Mexican restaurant. So, when I reached the end of the street, near the bank, I turned around and drove back to the 4-way stop. That same homeless person I had just observed purchasing drugs from a man who came out of the bar, was literally trying to light his "crack" pipe under his jacket while walking down the middle of the road. Then, because I had to slow down and drive around him, he tried to flag me down and chased my car like he was gonna ask me for something. I did not stop. I haven't been in side there in years because of the nasty clientele that come outside to smoke on the sidewalk. read more

I want to like this place, but they need help in some key areas. Need at least 2 people talking orders and serving food / drinks. Need someone minding the food so it doesn't burn while the bartender is trying to bartend. One person is not enough to run this place and give decent service. I hope they bring on at least one more person, isn't the name '2 broke bartenders'? I only saw one frazzled bartender. My food came out burned and took forever to get a drink. Service: very slow. Food: undercooked, arrived in stages. Chicken wings were just slightly under, but chicken strips barely cooked and soggy, fries still raw inside and inedible. Why take food orders if you can't fill them without risking a health code violation? We would have gone elsewhere or just back to our motel room. Drinks: we didn't get beer because most of the taps had paper towel stuffed in them (how is this not a major health code violation?) so, thinking it would be safer, ordered one of their "Signature Cocktails". Worst lemon drop I've ever had, the only citrus flavor coming from the tiny bit of lemon garnish. Large dog that belonging to the place that actually put its head on my lap when I was served, and kept laying down in the traffic area between the bar and the kitchen area, nearly causing an accident when it got stepped on. Don't come here for the food or the drinks. They do have karaoke, sort of, so if drunk guys singing off key is your thing, have at it. read more

This is my favorite bar in town. Super low-key & divey. Nice bartenders and they have decent fried/bar food. The crowd here is normal, grown ass, friendly folks and not young kids looking to party. I really appreciate that about this spot. Not sure what is going on in the downstairs area but it looks like they are working on putting up some new decorations and neon signs so I look forward to seeing that whenever it's done. read more

This place was one of the 2 open when we got into Newport at 11:40pm. They were POPPING off! Karaoke going, pool tables being used, slots machines ringing and the bar front was FULL. Where do I start, well for starters I ordered 2 shots of we'll vodka, easy right? They poured the 2 shots and took one for "bartender tax" and slammed one of my shots down im already sloshed at this point so I let it slide, they then proceeded to buy an entire round for the bar with MY CREDITCARD! So at this point I'm a little bit slighted, so I walk up to the bartender and ask for my drink that they bought with my credit card. Don't go - they do not want your business anyways. I was never so disappointed in a dive bar but this one is pretty poor. Asked about Hard Ciders (One of my buddies is GF) and they said we only have ciders on tap. So asked what you got on tap? Bartender response was: "I don't know" and kind of threw the hands in the air. Well the place is a dive for sure and I can tolerant a many of dive bars but they are usually good with costumer service. Not this one. We went on a Monday and a Wednesday night, as it's the only bar offering karaoke 7 nights a week. We sat at the bar and didn't eat there, but the shots of Makers Mark were almost doubles! The service was attentive, even though the bar was busy. Monday evening was quiet, but Wednesday night they were hosting a pool league tournament, and it was quite loud. Great place to meet friends and have drinks. The atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. They have great service and the bartenders are friendly and attentive. The Burgers are are fresh made patties to order with all fresh ingredients and huge, they even have there own unique way of serving them, upside down . The owner Tammy is very attentive to her business and almost always there and she personally takes the time to greet and get to know new customers. I personally recommend Two Broke Bartenders to everyone over 21, you will enjoy the experience. read more

I had been coming to this location for about 25+years and have always had a good time. I learned to play pool here after being inspired by a Pool shark named Don, (he held his table for little over an hour before deciding to go on home) I also have met some amazing people and some not. I have seen many bartenders come and go and Mary the one and only was my favorite she had been there for many years managing the bar. I was excited for Mary and her partner for being able to get the establishment, they named it The Two Broke Bartenders. Mary well she caught that virus going around called Covid and while she was sick, her partner, Tammy decided while Mary was sick to stab in the back and try and steal her half of the business from her by saying she was crazy and not right in the mind, Tammy also said Mary was bad for the business, which is faults considering Mary's had been a bartender for years and has the experience of a manager as well. I don't know what it's like now because Tammy had accused me of plugging in my phone to be charged and whipping out the internet for the business which apparently caused her to lose hundreds and hundreds of dollars because they couldn't have karaoke that night.(it was on a workday and hardly anyone was there.) I was 86 for life over this lie about plugging a phone in. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wanted a place to hang out until Mary F. Gets back into her rightful place and Tammy is behind bars. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday around 12 for food and drinks . When I arrived at the bar I waited a good 5 minutes before somebody served us. I noticed there were eight people in the bar total .I saw no bartender in the bar. It was the day before the super bowl I ordered a Jack and Coke . I was informed we're out of Daniels ???? My partner ordered Maker's Mark in a bucket . It arrived with crushed ice in the drink. We ordered one Maker's Mark with Coke and a diet Coke. We were not offered menus or any food suggestions . The total for the two was $13.25 I was sitting next to a guy who was complaining that he had been drinking in the bar and someone had ran his credit card multiple times and had overdrawn his bank account for $121. He wanted to speak to the manager and the owner to get a credit for his account. A girl at the end of the bar was upset about the lottery . It appeared the one bartender was by herself. I think she did the best she could. I finished up and left. . I will try it on another day. read more

I went in a few months back. The friend I was with is African American. We tried to talk to the bartender to order food and drinks. She basically ignored us. Everyone was looking at us like we weren't supposed to be there and we should leave. So we left. Not a great feeling and shows just what kind of place this is.
