Our Arctic Circle in Eureka, California, closed years and years ago. So whenever I can get to an AC, it's always a treat. The employees were very friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. The menu is very large, including an extensive selection of both shakes and Sundaes. I decided to go for the classic. A burger, fries, and a cherry Rickey. (limeade, cherry syrup, fresh lime, and either sprite or 7-Up, depending on the restaurant.). The meal took me right back. The burger was huge, the patties were juicy, and the buns were a good quality. The fries were crisp, and the fry sauce was amazing the Rickey was both sweet and tangy at the same time. Wanted a sweet treat in Newport and stopped by the local attic circle! I had never been there but seems to be similar to a Dairy Queen. The employee loaded up our sundaes! Arctic Circle is pretty good. The young people at the drive thru are friendly and helpful. It is one of those small town burger and ice cream joints. It originated in Utah I think so there is fry sauce, which the kid especially loves. We have had fish and chips, burgers, shakes, sundaes, a grilled chicken sandwich, cheese curds, onion rings, milkshakes,hot dogs,tater tots, mini tacos (we do not recommend these), and chicken strips. We have fed the boyfriend and other friends here. Because 19-23 year olds can eat. A lot. The kid has landed on the junior bacon cheeseburger as the favored order. I have liked my mushroom swiss burger the best overall. We may have been there a few times because we don't really do the usual drive thru suspects and there is no Burgerville. My family and I had to come here one night because it was late, and had no other options. I am not sure how this place got decent ratings but the burgers were awful. The buns were disgusting. The patties were dry and looked so processed. And inside was dirty and shady. If you have gone to somewhat decent places like In and Out you may want to puke after thinking you ate here. read more

A rare find! I haven't seen one of these in years. We were on our way home from Yachats and spotted this location. So cool. I remember going to one of these in Portland growing up. It's been many, many years. We used the drive-thru. The employee was patient and helpful. It took us a while to peruse the menu. We ended up getting the halibut sandwich, cheese curds, hot dog, and a vanilla malt shake. Everything was delicious! The halibut sandwich was surprisingly fresh and meaty. I would totally order it again. My husband really liked his hot dog. The frank itself was split in half lengthwise. He liked the mayo, mustard, relish, and onions on top. The cheese curds were cooked perfectly... not greasy at all. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by our fast food experience. We'll definitely stop in again the next time we're in Newport! This will be a good and service review as I only went to the drive through. Service was quick. With 3 cars ahead of me it only took 6 minutes to get to the order speaker thingy. I ordered the small halibut fish and chips and a grape lime Rickey. 5 minutes later I received my food and took it to the beach to eat. The fish was interesting. Formed, fast food halibut with a decent crispy crust. It was pretty good. The fries were good too! The beverage was delicious and refreshing (if you like grape flavored sodas). We came here because it was the only thing in the area open, and it was... something to put it. The workers feel like they just take their job not seriously and just don't care. Half the time we were waiting, there was a homeless person begging for money, and the ambiance made it feel like a trashy burger joint. The food was barely food, barely edible. Everytime we go to Newport on a day trip we usually stop here. It can get pretty spendy unless you ask what deals they have going on. Even the cheap(ish) little burgers are enough for myself and my husband. The ice cream Sundays are delicious! The strawberry flavor has good sized chunks strawberries in it! read more

This place has been around for many years and I believe it's either the only location left in Oregon lor one of two left in Oregon. Ice cream is probably my favorite dessert. The twist cones are a hit! Decent size. Strawberry root beer seemed unique so I went it off my normal vanilla and I'm so glad I did! Every lick made my taste buds dance. Good food, my favorite place in town for a quick, drive-thru burger. Friendly staff. However, they make mistakes and don't seem to know how to fix them. Saturday I drove through and asked for the smallest, ice cream cone. They charged me $2.29 so I figured there was only one size. I asked to have it made half size as I am not supposed to eat much ice cream. Turned out they had at least three sizes, including a kiddie cone. They neither refunded some of my money nor gave me the size I wanted. They just instructed me to ask for the kiddie cone next time and then they would get it right. read more

The melty cheese and the fresh tomato, lettuce, etc. made it an above average fast food burger. The fries were good - crisp exterior and soft inside. The milkshake was fantastic. They offer a huge number of flavors. My vanilla shake with tiny chocolate chips was thick (they serve it with a spoon) and had a mind-blowing amount of chips. I took it with me and it quickly became straw-suckable in the day's heat. It has been a long time since I have even seen an Arctic Circle, and I have missed them. This location has stuff not found on most burger joint menus (grilled lemon pepper chicken breast sandwich) and they have onion rings too. Yay! A note about these onion rings. We stopped to do some kite flying and beach combing. I hadn't gotten very far into my food so figured I would just warm up my onion rings when we got back. Um, yeah. What's happening. I remember this place being different; different being better. Hungry late, wanted to try something different than usual fast food. Ranch burger, corn dogs, chicken sandwich, onion rings, shakes. Ranch burger was not good. Tasteless with undercooked patties. Similar to a Big Mac, but not as good. Corn dogs were decent enough. Onion rings were quite apparently fresh cut and battered with a crispy batter, BUT...most places make sure to remove the papery skin from most of the onions before making onion rings. 2-3 in my order of 8 or so were not pleasant to eat; at all and therefore got trashed. The chicken sandwich looked and tasted like a breaded piece of foam rubber, it was not good, and my wife did not eat more than one bite. The shakes were not good at all. Frozen flavored water or super skim milk, or powdered base with water added. Nope. Werent even able to eat a few bites. The fry sauce that was innovated in the industry by this chain was really good, and probably better than most other places that offer a fry sauce. Something from this place had me up all night being sick, and were i to wager a guess was the under cooked beef, or the mustard, or the shake. I do not like waking up in the middle of the night to run to the bathroom, obviously.
