I am giving one star because at least the work is decent. I understand that this is a slow business but, taking a dollar here and there, it is still considered stealing. I chose the $42 pedicure. I chose gel, which usually amounts to $10-$15 max as an add-on. When checking out, the lady explains there is a $1 fee for charges over $50 when using a card. She says the total is $57. She then asks if I want to add tip and I say $11 (20%). She pulls a pen and paper to write it down and writes 58+12, already adding two dollars not discussed. She says the total will be $70. Wrong again. How does a $42 pedicure turn into $70..... Will never return. read more

I have been coming to 1st Princess since I moved to the neighborhood and I cannot believe I have been SO remiss and not reviewing sooner. The salon is always buzzing with happy customers, they are well-staffed and welcome walk-ins. Jack does my nails and he is truly an artist, they are always done to perfection. I also get pedis as often as I can and their Deluxe pedi is DI-VINE. Currently, they have taken extensive precautions by adding hand sanitizer, plexiglass at the cashier, and at the stations. They also have always required masks which is greatly appreciated by those of us who have compromised systems. Great family business and good people. read more

I had to find a nail salon, quick, because I was heading out of town that weekend. 1st Princess Nails came up as very close to my house so I called them up to make a simple gel manicure appointment the same day. The salon is simple, with manicure chairs in the front, and pedicure chairs in the back. My tech was very nice, and very detailed as well. She found a color which I absolutely loved (black with crimson sparkles). She cleaned up my cuticles perfectly, and the end result made my fingers look great. I haven't gotten my nails done in almost a year and I had forgotten how much I loved seeing them all nicely done. I will go back, but next time I will try getting the SNS done! read more

Horrible service ! Went here for the first time paid $70 to have my nails done asked for square but more coffin bc I like the edges to not stick out. The owners wife applied them crooked and filed them like duck nails. Several people told me it looks like I have toes on my hands. One nail turns inward. I paided extra for a manicure and told her before we started she said ok after. Results being my cuticles are under the nail so 2 days after they started lifting. I go back 3 days after bc I can't stand them. The owners wife says the owner will fix them come back in 2 days at 10am. So I come back 2 days after as soon as I walk in the owner tells me no 12 o'clock I said no I was told to be here at 10 o'clock he goes not what my book says you come later I'm busy. I said I took off work to be here. I can't come back later he starts raising his voice at me telling me he's busy I said sir in a very calm voice please stop talking over me and let me explain he kept interrupting me finally I told him id be back later bc I'm so stressed he's yelling at me then his wife came from the back and started yelling at me everyone in the shop is looking at us. Went here today for a pedicure, along with a lip and brow wax. After a short wait, I was the next person seated. They have several different levels for the pedicure and I chose Deluxe ($37) which was a nice treat - several steps including cleaning, massage, scrubs, lotions. Good massage chair. All employees wore masks and so did most clients. I have super sensitive skin and am generally a wuss, so I'm always hesitant to get waxing done but this was nicely done and I didn't cry! I wasn't happy I left very upset with service I received. I ask repeatedly for my toenails to be even. Also, for shaping of my toenails services that I thought was included with pedicure. I also her clip my toenails short which she seem not to understand or care so I end doing myself after asking repeatedly. I've been coming here for a little over a year now after several other salons provided me with subpar work. Everyone here is awesome. Jack and Emily do a FANTASTIC job on my nails. I can go 4-5 weeks without a fill and I still get compliments on my nails. No lifting, color doesn't get dull, no chipping. Really what more can you ask for? I won't let anyone else in the world do my eyebrows besides Jack's mother in-law. She really knows what she is doing. You get the shape you want, not the shape someone thinks you need. I've been here a few times before and never used a photo reference for my nails. Today for my birthday I wanted to treat myself to a full gel set and brought a reference photo. My nails ended up looking nothing like the photo that I used. They were supposed to be a nude and black French manicure. Instead the tech didn't use a base color and only did black for the French. You can see my real nails underneath and it looks disgusting. When I mentioned to him that I didn't like the way it looked he said that it would probably look better after a second coat of black for the French. It still looks terrible. I spent $50 on something that I absolutely hate for my birthday. I'm so disappointed. It's a real shame because the shape is perfect. But the art itself is awful. The nail tech didn't listen to anything that I said. He was on his phone almost the whole time. He was even watching a soccer game while he was doing my nails. I'm so disappointed in the service and the outcome of my nails. Now I had to pay to go to a different Salon to get these redone. read more

I did a hot towel pedicure regular paint for 25 bucks and acrylic regular paint for 20 bucks. I liked the pedicure and they did a decent job. The staff is always friendly, the inside is clean, and most importantly my nails always look amazing when I leave there. They have a large selection of OPI nail polish to choose from, and the matching gel versions for each color. The thing that makes me keep coming back to this salon is how long my gel mani lasts when I get it done here. Usually I don't see any chipping for at least 2 weeks, I've even gone 3 weeks without chipping. I had my nails done (dip with no UV light) there three days ago by the owner's wife. I was charged $40 for the process plus an extra three dollars. In two days my nails started to chip, they were lumpy and the topcoat started to crack. Plus they were not shaped the way I had asked. They were all different shapes. I called the owner on the third day, and he just asked me if I wanted to cancel my next appointment. He made no effort to tell me to come in and they would fix it. So they basically take your money, don't know what they're doing, don't stand behind their service! Appalling and a rip off. I've been getting my nails done for 25 years. This has never happened to me. I thought I would try this place because I just moved into this area but I would never recommend them. Very unprofessional! Basically a rip off and they don't care. My appointment was with the husband. As soon as I walked in the door he said he had to go somewhere and his wife would do my nails and she knew what she was doing. Obviously she did not. Ended up here after making an appointment at a different salon that is appointment only and having my appointment cancelled 20 mins prior due to a "system mistake" decided to try this one out after reading reviews and close proximity. I'm always nervous trying a new salon especially with no referral, but I had a very pleasant experience here. I was attended right away and my nails are grateful. I didn't get the name of my nail-tech but she's older and very sweet. She took her time and was gentle with my fragile nails. I broke one far down the nail bed prior to coming in and she was more concerned for it than I was. I was also relieved I didn't have to ask her to do a third coat since the color I chose is pastel and easily streaky, she did it anyway. The ocean pedicure is a dream. I have had a pedicure at the Four Seasons Spa and it was twice as expensive and nowhere near the same quality. I was able to walk in and get a manicure and pedicure immediately (they were having a special for $35 for mani pedi). My mother-in-law and I have been trying some nail salons in the area and this one won us over on the first appointment. Although it doesn't have the luxury atmosphere of Nail Spaz in Sodo (which was awful service), we had an incredible experience here and it's now our favorite place! There is a large variety of colours and styles to choose from, comfortable chairs for manicures and pedicures, and it doesn't smell like acetone. They have a tv that plays music videos and they use clean tools. Sodo destroyed my nails and used the buffer and made my cuticles bleed so I was hesitant when the man turned on the buffer to remove the top layer of my gel. He only used it to take off the bubbles of gel and then used polish remover to take off the rest and was very gentle and precise. It wasn't busy and crazy like some salons I've been to, except for the usual walk in conversation, but I was pleased he kept his attention on his appointment with me. In no time, he finished my SNS nails and they look so beautiful and even! (Sodo never filed my nails so they looked uneven all the time). The pedicure station was very clean and they use the plastic lining, which is awesome! The girl doing my toes wasn't very chatty and distracted and did an amazing job on my pedicure!(= Thank you 1st Princess Nails, we'll be back in two weeks! I am very disappointed in this place. I used to be a customer awhile ago and I decided to try a different nail place that was closer to my house. Well I ended up with an infection on my toe. So I decided to go back with this place and I told the owner about the infection on my toe and that it was doing better. And he refused to let me be a customer again. He kept telling me to go to the place I got the infection from. I wasn't even planning on getting my toes done that day. At least I know what kind of business they are now. read more
