After seeing the reviews from Yelp , and hearing first hand experience from my girlfriend, I knew this was the place bring my car for a Smog. I called on a Saturday Morning right as they opened asking if I could stop by to get a smog done for a Title/ Registration Transfer. They mentioned that they would need to wait for one of their team members who works on older cars , and there should be availability around 11-11:30. With that in mind, I waited till about 11:15 to head over. I brought my car up and was promptly given a receipt and directed to the waiting area. I didn't have an appointment but all in all I only had to wait about an hour (which was great considering the number of other cars being worked on). Service was friendly, efficient, and well priced. He explained to me the process of completing my smog check with DMV in order to get my registration sticker for my car. The test result is submitted electronically to the DMV. Getting a smog check is a chore, to be sure, but at least this business makes it possible to get done quickly and efficiently. I called midday and they told me I could bring car right in. When I arrived I went to park on the side to check in, but a friendly employee waved me right over to pull in front of the garage. I was directed to the no-frills seating area, filled out some paperwork, and within 15 minutes they had completed the check. The report to the DMV electronically, and advised me to wait a day before being able to see the smog check reflected in the DMV system. Fast, efficient, friendly and cost competitive. I went to 2 other Smog Test stations and both of them said that they would NOT CHRRGE me based on an initial inspection (long story). Thought I'd try 19th and Taraval. This station charged me because I passed, BUT did not issue a certificate because they could not see EO (Executive Order) numbers. Went to another station and they passed me. Went back to 19th and Taraval to request a refund. They argued with me and simply said no. A negative, minus 5 review will occur monthly till my refund is issued.
