This place is great for getting a smog test. We did not have an appointment and just showed up. Upon arrival, someone showed us where to park and after a few questions on the form, he gave us a copy and was told to return in about 20 mins. We mentioned we saw a coupon on the website for $41.75 and he said it will cost a flat rate of $50. Our car was a 2018 Hyundai Elantra. Sure enough, our car was ready in 20 mins. Overall it's a reasonably priced joint (with coupon) especially they would give you a free test within 30 days if you fail the test the first time. This is a test only location and although you might need to wait a bit, you would most likely how quickly they get to your car. The people there are always young and once again extremely efficient. Takes away all the stress of doing one extra thing when you renew your vehicle. There is a surcharge for using credit cards but it's not too much. The restroom is clean and big and there is a TV in the waiting room but most people are on their phones anyways. read more

Don't come here they gave me a run around. I came here 4x to get my car smog all 4 didn't pass. Every time they tell me fix this and that so I do when I come back they find something new to fix. The last draw for me after the 3rd time I went back all they said everything looks good just drive about 150-200 and go to o'Reilly have them do the OBD scanner to make it green so it will show ready to go . So I drove it 300 miles just incase and went to O'Reilly got it to show green took it back to get it smog now they telling me it's my sensor ‍ are freakin kidding me you guys didn't tell me all that so I can just do 1 trip ! So I wasted $200 at this place and still my car won't pass smog ! I took it to another smog place and passes without any issues ! And the kids that works at this place are RUDE ! This place gets all the stars. First time coming to Star Smog Depot and the rating truly reflects them. Ended up going after work arrived around 4:45pm and was out maybe 45 minutes later. Given there were quite a bit of cars there it definitely seemed pretty fast. Upon arrival it may first look intimidating but there are two lots with parking spaces. When parking one of the employees came to help. They take down your information and you sign their paperwork. If it's your first time they will give you a discount. Additionally, on their website they do have a coupon for smog check for about $40 dollars. Overall, this place is a well oil machine. Highly recommended. I think this place is a scam. First they want to charge me $90 for only smog test but when I said that's too much compared to the other shop then they reduced it to $50. After hours of waiting, my vehicle didn't pass the smog test. I'm curious because my vehicle runs very smoothly and has no visible signs of smoke but they said because it's has some check engine and some weird signs on the vehicle that he could only tell.
