I have smogged a few cars with this station. My roommate also smogged here few times. So that day the technician was rude to me. I thought OK maybe this guy had a bad day. So I will just let him slide. So today I went back to this station to pump air into my tire. Also I come to finish up what I wanted to ask him. I saw him walk out and I said, "Actually, the other day I only wanted to ask you a simple question. The sales clerk at Oreilly Auto used a scanner and told me my Evap monitor is not ready. But he said they should still pass you with Evap not ready. So my question is will you pass me with Evap not ready?" And the technician said to me this time, "I don't want to speak to you. So don't talk to me." I was so shocked about his attitude. He then said, "My manager is angry at me because of you. So don't talk to me anymore." Then he said, "My manager took the scanner home. That's why I don't have the scanner." I don't understand this man. this 50 year old smog expert won't even buy himself a $40 scanner. What kind of smog technician is he? Then I asked again will you pass me if my Evap is not ready. And he again said don't talk to me. I used to smog here with my other cars. Now I need to go elsewhere because this guy hates me now. I guess he don't care. He's not the owner of this station. So he can care less if customers are being driven away by his rudeness. His boss loses money. Don't pay attention to some of the negative reviews below. It's illegal for smog to tell what needs to be fixed if the car doesn't pass smog. It's the car owners responsibility to take it to a shop to figure out what needs to be fixed. Smh This shop may be a little on the pricier side but the convenience and fast service is worth it (to me). I'll happily pay more for convenience any day. If It's not worth it to you, then go somewhere else. :) It doesn't mean this shop deserves a poor review. Do your research and understand the prices before hand. Took my 2 cars and suv there for years, as well as my kids and girlfriend's car because it's close to 24hrs fitness and i can go workout instead of waiting there. Just bought a new to me car and took it there to smog. The car is slightly modified by the previous owner, but it has a newer catalytic converter and all the lawful emission original equipment. The asian gentleman there told me "...we don't smog modified cars here!" I asked him why, what part of the modification is bothering him? He replied "We don't smog modified cars, that's it, don't ask questions!" Well, sorry for trying to understand, you lost me as a customer with your fresh tone and attitude. Convenient location and friendly service. Showed up in the afternoon and was helped promptly and had my car smogged within 35 minutes. They have a waiting area with some chairs and a couch and a block away from a Starbucks. Price was good. Highly recommended. read more

Never going back here. Jesus. Twice the cost of Westlake, plus the guy has no clue what he's doing. He plugs in the computer and reads the readout - pretty sure I can do that. How about some advice if the car doesn't pass ? Or better yet, run the pretest ritual (involves driving at different speeds, etc) on the rollers and pass it for me. My older Suburban needed a SMOG check and I think I got there at the perfect time. Zero wait and was immediately helped. Was told 30 minutes but I told them to take their time. Dropped off the keys, filled and signed the form and walked down the street for some delicious Mexican food at Taqueria Mordida. 45 minutes later I came back to pick up my SUV and was good to go. Passed with flying colors and good for another 2 years. There is a small waiting area if you want to hang around but the is Starbucks, taqueria, and Vietmamese restaurant all a block away. read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SMOG CENTER. Firstly, this guy charges twice the price as anywhere else...$79. Secondly, I bought a new car from out of state and it did not pass due to an oxygen sensor, I brought it in on Saturday, as I had a DMV appointment on Wednesday morning. It did not pass He told me to drive it 50 to 100 miles and come back within 15 days and he would charge me $10 to test it again. I drove the car all day and brought it in that same evening before he was closing, as I wasn't sure I could get back before 5pm on Monday or Tuesday. It didn't pass again and when I went to pay him, he said "no charge". I thought that was pretty nice. I brought it back in today, and it finally passed... he charged me $40. I said, "I thought we had 15 days to bring it back and you would test it", he said "you came back in and I tested it...it's $40. Dishonest, unethical and no personality on top of it. Super friendly guy that was working here just a few days ago when I stopped by. I was in and out in roughly fifteen minutes. However, the price is incredibly steep. I walked out with a bill for $80. Now, I'm new to the area with out-of-state plates, so maybe I'm just used to $20 inspections where I'm from. Seeing the other reviews about the price here makes me think it's indeed just the area. Go somewhere else! this guy was a real winner... I watched him do the whole smog check on the computer and after he was done (25 min. later) with the whole thing he comes back to me and tells me the exhaust system has been modified and he needs the part # off the smog compliant headers that have been on the vehicle for 15 + years and is no longer readable.. I was not charged, my guess is it DID PASS on the computer but not from his visual of the exhaust system. In the last 15+ yrs I have never had this happen so I went somewhere else and their was NOT a problem.. The smog man could tell just by looking at it that it was legal did the test, it passed with flying colors!!! read more

Smog, smog, smog. What better place to get your car checked than the city filled with fog, fog, fog? If you live in the neighborhood, are slightly lazy, and desire a no frills no nonsense experience then I'd totally recommend this place. The guy running it was very courteous on the phone and in person. I went in the middle of the day and I was serviced right away (Heyo!) My whole visit was only 20-30 minutes. If you live in the area just check the Valpack mailer since these guys seem to always have some sort of coupon there. All said and done the damage (with my $20 dollars off / free retest coupon) for the test, certificate, and e-notification was 59 dollars. Are there cheaper places? Sure. Are there cheaper places a 1 minute drive away from my house? Nope. Points off for the lack of parking (I had to park next to a gas pump) and the couches that look like they're from a 70's porno (bowchikawowwow). read more

The gasoline at this Chevron station is pretty expensive, so I wasn't sure about going in for a smog test. Regular price for a smog check is $69, but I found a coupon on the web for $20 off. Total price for everything (smog test, certificate, and electronic transfer fee to the state) was $59, and maybe it took 20-25 minutes. The guy running the test station was very courteous and I'm totally satisfied. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because with a little bit of searching and driving, you can get everything done elsewhere for under $50. But this place is very close to home, and I'm not going to sweat $9. I'd go here again. read more

This is the best smog center around! My whole family has been going here for years and as a female, I can't tell you how nice it is to go to a service station and get someone who is willing to talk to me like I actually know a thing or 2 about my car! Most car guys would rather deal with my "husband" or "father", but these guys give first class service DIRECTLY to me. The customer service here is to be applauded! read more

I sent my 22 year old son to have his car tested here because it is a designated testing station. Well the guy lost the key to the car in the 30 minute time slot. All he told my son is " I hope you have a spare key". Well considering that the key he lost is the main key for the car and Accura's are easy to break into and he has our address and perhaps our key...I think he is either a crook, careless and incompetent or all three! read more

Don't waste your time, if I could give the place zero stars i would. After bringing my car into the bay and taking a quick look at it the man informed me that he couldn't perform the test because i have an after market intake. He then told me i needed to remove the after market intake & put the original back on. Good thing i know better, can you imagine how much that completely unnecessary change would've cost?! Anyway i took it over to Eddie's where they could be bothered to do a proper inspection. They reassured me that the intake was a legal modification, they performed the test & my car passed with flying colors. read more

If you want to chance losing $65, then by means go there. First the price is pretty high no retest if you fail. (Go to DC Auto in Burlingame $48 dollars total w/ cert.) My wife went their and the guy didn't give her a receipt. It took us a while to figure out that the guy didn't submit the paper work properly or maybe he didn't try. (BIG MISTAKE IF YOU NOTICE PROBLEM JUMP ON IT RIGHT AWAY.) She called and the guy refused to deal with her on the phone. She had to go there in person. (Unfortunately I work during his working hours or I would have given a piece of my mind. Also my wife has two 3 yo twins, very hard to get out of the house.) Now my wife shows up and she had a bank transaction saying we were there and charged us $65. He couldn't find anything. He says the records are only good for 90 days. Was there right at 9am. Had to do some extra test to check for gas leaks by adding pressure to gas tank and didn't charge me extra. It was a 95 Taurus so being old, I had to go to a Star Certified Smog Station. This one is fast, efficient & $80 and you're on your way! read more
