I found a giant screw in my tire late Friday and panicked because I needed my car all weekend. My sister suggested I go here since she's a regular but warned me it's hard to get in without an appointment. I tried my luck by going right when they opened at 730am only to be told they can take a look but I'll have to leave the car there and pick it up at the end of the day. I sadly handed over my keys wondering how would I manage the day without my car. I took a Lyft home to plan my day and two hours later I get a surprise call my car is ready! I think the owner of this business is okay. I went in for an oil change and his shop called me and told me I needed $3,500 in repairs. It required new shocks in the right front, which I knew about. Since the car as my girlfriend's and I wanted her to drive a safe vehicle, I told them to do it. Four months later I went in and ordered another oil change. This time the son took care of me. He called me later and told me I needed $3,000 of work saying the right front shock needed replacing. I told him that they had done that job only months ago. He checked and said that it was under warranty so that part of the repair would not be charged (less $1,000). I paid for the oil change and never went back. If you go there only deal with the father. read more

Our car was seriously out of alignment. Made an appointment to have it realigned at Sanford Tire & Brake Center, in Pacifica. They took us right away, and while their specialist Pedro was doing the job, service advisor/ co-owner Chris invited us to relax in the waiting area (comfy seats, tv, magazines). Best customer service! (Also it's been while in general where I have had this great of service!) Long story short I was driving and at a stop someone told me my rear tire was flat. I go to the gas station thinking i could pump air in but I didn't notice there was a metal piece stuck in my tire! I called the closet tire shop which was this San Firestone. Luckily the John said they were caught up and able to take me in. As they were checking my car he let me know that they didn't have the tire in-stock but he was proactive in calling another store to check AND even went to go pick it up for me so they could have me out within the hour. Had a nail in my tire thinking that i had to get a new one was helped out by harry and they looked at my tire free of charge and just took out the nail saw that the tire did not leak air and did all of this in the parking lot. The quote to do a brake job on a corolla was so overpriced it was laughable at best. When the retail cost of the parts to do the job is ~$200, and they quoted nearly $900 for the same parts? You're getting taken advantage of. I cannot honestly reccommend this place for repair work outside of tires. Seriously disappointed. Dishonest mechanics -- stay far away. We pulled a nail from our tire and brought the car here to get it repaired. The nail was smack dab in the middle of the tire and cheap patch repairs are very common. When they called us back with an estimate, they had the nerve to lie and say the hole was on the edge of the tire and couldn't be repaired. When we called them out on their lie, they called us back and said all 4 tires needed to be replaced along with an alignment. We towed the car elsewhere and found an honest mechanic who actually patched the tire for free (it would normally cost $25 to repair). Do yourself a favor and shop around, this place is run by crooks. read more

These guys aren't even a Firestone store I don't know how they get to ride on Firestones reputation. The overtightened my lug nuts and refused to remove them after I stripped one trying to remove it No one else had touched my car and I have 30 years experience working on my own vehicles I told them not to overtighten the lug nuts, refusing to stand behind their work and blame the overtightening on me I don't use air tools was ludicrous. When I called Firestone to inform them they told me that location is not really a Firestone. I'm not sure how they get away with that so I walked in to look at their business license it's too far away from the counter to be able to read it. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this cost me hiundres of dollars and a lot of time so go anywhere else it costs enough to fix a car without being treated dishonestly read more

Called the prior weekend to see if I can do a walk-in for a screw in my tire. Guy says they are packed and to make an appointment, which I did for Monday morning. When I arrived, there were three guys at the counter, one surfing the web, one on the phone, and the last one acting reluctantly to help out because he thought the other guys should have helped. They said to leave the car for an hour and thirty minutes for a tire patch when there were no other cars being worked on! Called me an hour later saying there were three nails inside the tire and one was in a place that could not be repaired, and that I need to change the entire tire. Just like the other reviewers complained about, these guys are straight up lying. I told them not to do anything, and got my car back. They still charged me $20 just to look at the tire. These crooks did not know I've been driving with the small screw in my tire for months, so it wasn't urgent. I could have easily plugged the tire myself, but I was feeling lazy to take off the entire tire to do the job correctly. What typically is a $10 job if you do it yourself, a $20 job if you go to honest shop, turned into a $287 upsell and a wasted three hours of my life to get my car back after their blatant fraudulent assessment. I only write reviews when a company is outstanding. I don't bother with bad reviews as it's a waste of my time. However, when something so wrong is done, I feel I need to write this as a public service announcement. I can only imagine what they do to the poor little ladies and gentlemen who don't know too much about cars. These guys are the stereotypical shop of taking advantage of those who don't know any better. To the owner, who will undoubtedly respond to this review, save us from the liability nonsense and empty apologies for your pathetic service standards. Take a look at all the 1 and 2 star reviews you are getting, and notice the trend. The only reason I'm giving more than 1 star is because they were making me fit into their schedule besides being busy. Here's my issues: 1. One of the other guys at the front desk kept butting in instead of letting the guy who I was working with do his job. 2. The synthetic oil change I was requesting on their paperwork is listed as a "Lube, Oil, Filter Full Synthetic." To clarify, I asked if they were going to do the "lube" part and grease the zerk fittings on my drivelines. They said that's not part of the service. 3. I told them I wanted my drivelines greased. They wanted to charge $30 extra for what is part of a normal LOF. 4. They wanted to charge $11.40 per quart of synthetic oil. 5. The total bill for this LOF with synthetic oil was going to be over $120 without rotating tires or anything. I went back in after reviewing the quote and grabbed my keys. I've had my oil changed here several times. The people at Sanford Firestone are honest, friendly, and efficient. On my most recent visit, I had a coupon for an oil change that didn't actually apply to my car. But the man who checked me out was still nice enough to give me a special discount--even though I had already agreed to the service and estimate without a discount. They've also given me advice when I stopped in with my old car once--free of charge. I've been coming here since 1997. I purchase tries w road hazard and when I have a flat or something goes wrong w my tires, they're replaced for free. It's totally worth it. Man O Man.... I'm so glad that I didn't listen to the negative reviews. I looked this place up after seeing them on my way home one day and I'm so glad I did. I called around at other places and got high prices on tires, so I opted to check out what Sanford Firestone had to offer. I came in today just after 8:30am and asked how long it would take to get an oil change and I was told a few hours maybe 4-5, which meant I would have to leave the car there. I decided to just go ahead and do that and at the same time find out how much tires were, because I needed them replaced asap. I was so freaking glad to find out that they have a special going. It was buy 3 get 1 free and so with that said I jumped on that offer before the dude could finish his sentence. I've come to learn in the first 10 minutes of being in the shop that this is a family owned business and the father and son running this Firestone are honest. I talked to the son who I believe his name is Chris and he was straight forward with his answers to my questions, very informative, efficient and honest. He said that I would be leaving my car here for a pretty long time, but within 4 hours he called back and said I could pick up my car. Wow! That was fast! I came in to pick up my car and paid what I was quoted nothing more. He did suggest that in the near future sometime I would have to get the belts replaced, which was helpful, because they were cracked. I can honestly say that Sanford Firestone is a breath of fresh air for me, because I just moved to this area. I'm glad I found a place where I don't have to worry about getting ripped off. Don't go here... go else where but here! A few months ago I took my car in for oil change and have them look at my wheels because it was making a clicking sound whenever I turned right and shaky when going uphill. Chris told me the axel needed to be replaced as well as my tires, front and rear breaks. I got them to replace the axel and front breaks which cost me around $1400. Chris was kind enough to give me a one year warranty for the things they change just in case something happens. A month later my car starts making a weird sound again. I thought ok maybe just maybe if I weigh this out it will get better and it didn't. I went back to Chris and he insist I need my rear breaks changed that's what probably causing the sound. Now I'm no dummy but it can't be my breaks because it didn't feel or sound like it came from that area. I told Chris no the sound is coming from the front. They took my car in looked at the bottom showed me that the intermediate shaft ($591.02) needs to be replace as well as the engine mount ($129.17 and $172.92) plus labor charges and rear breaks which will cost me another $1445. I been patient enough and took my car to another auto shop (close by) Bud's Auto Shop in San Bruno for a second opinion which I'm so glad I did! Come to find out the only thing needed replacing was a bearing $72 and the hub $75 and my car is back to its normal soundless vehicle. Shame on you Firestone! Dishonest work as they got the state of California to pay for work that was not done correctly.

Car broke down, called AAA. Had my car towed here because AAA said it would discount 10%. My car had a no start problem. They said diagnostic cost would be 88$ for simple problem up to 208$. Simple problem would be most common issues - battery, alternator, starter. They told me my battery was dead and i need a new starter. They totaled me 1070$. They wouldnt let me see invoice until i paid. I ask for the 10% discount for AAA. They swipe my card and the new total is 1037. How is that 10%?.. When i pay and see the invoice, they charged me 208$ for the diagnostics. Wouldnt checking the starter be one of the common issues of a non start?? I feel nickel and dimed. Would not recommend. Two stars for timely repairs Edit: owner called me back and verified the diagnosis should have only been 88$. Refunded me the correct amount. +1 star for following up on negative reviews. read more
