This place is super convenient to grab breakfast or lunch when I am working out of the office in the building. There are lots of options from stir fry to grilled food to salad and sandwiches. There are lots of things to choose from. During my stay I tried the stir-fried lo mien and the mushroom Swiss burger. All items were made to order and ready to eat. The serve staff were super friendly and even noticed that I was a visitor. The cafe has some seating in the store but most people take their food to go. Found myself downtown with a couple hours before my meeting so I stopped in and grabbed breakfast. Small cafeteria style place with a wide variety of selections. I ordered a bacon omelette with tots. 1801 Eatery has been my 'go to' place for the past 4 years. Even during COVID, I could always count on them for a great lunch or a quick snack. This family run business excels at customer service --- and makes sure you leave with a smile on your face. While I do like my regular Chicken Caesar Wrap, they have an amazing burger/fries and Chicken Enchiladas (special only on Thursdays). Breakfast is always a treat there too. The breakfast burritos are fantastic (note - they are very large) --- but many times I just grab some scrabbled eggs for around $2. I can't stress enough about the staff here. They sincerely care about their customers. TIP: You can never go wrong with their daily specials --- but be sure to get there before early, because many times they are sold out. read more

The pictures tells the story better than I could. This is a place for the office worker to grab their daily burrito and coffee and wonder why their cholesterol sky high. I gave it a 4 just because the ladies working are so nice. Its also cheap eats, burrito and coffee less than 8 bucks. The coffee is actually really good, but only serves drip coffee. Gomez burrito cart was taking a while, and I needed to get back to my office for a conf call. So, I jumped ship and went inside to my fave old standby, 1801 Eatery. This visit, I was determined to step out of what had become my usual -- chicken Lo Mein -- and try something new. Sadly, I had a very small amount of cash, so I went with an old favorite, the baked potato. When 1801 was Intermission Café, i alternated between The Texan and the South of the Border potatoes. The Texan is, sadly, not on 1801's menu, but the South of the Border seems to have been remodeled into The Mexican, only missing the butter. It's deeeelish. As always, the folks at 1801 are SO nice, and SO helpful; which makes this lunch spot an eternal favorite of mine! read more

I've been here for both breakfast and lunch. Their breakfast burritos are awesome! I get bacon, spicy potatoes, and green chili one mine. It is filling and delicious. I've had mixed feelings about lunch though. First time I went I got the bacon cheeseburger. Nothing special about that. However, one of my co-workers got some Chinese food and was very thrilled with it. The next time I went back I ordered the General Tso chicken. That was a lot better than the burger. The sesame chicken is also good. Every time I go back, I get one of those two. The service is very quick and they have a large selection to choose from for lunch. read more

I'm in Denver at least once a month for work and usually eat at 1801 cafe at least one day each time since it's in the same building as my office. Used to get their pho often but the last couple of times the pho hasn't been as good. Their salads are also good and being right in the lobby level of the building, it's a convenient place for lunch. read more

I went in today to get a quick lunch while downtown at work. Picked this spot based on a coworker's insanely misguided recommendation and because I didn't want to walk far in the cold. I ordered the General Tso's chicken, and frankly didn't have high expectations for Chinese food from a 'food court' that also serves pizza, sandwiches, salads, and tacos. But the food looked terrible as they took out veggies from a Ziploc bag and steamed them in a pot of water used for multiple purposes. Then they scooped pre-cooked chicken out of a heated water table and poured some mystery sauce (no resemblance to Tso sauce) on it. It smelled and looked horrible and yet I tried it anyway. After about 4 way-too-salty bites, I gave in and threw it out. My coworker ordered the Pad Thai with similar results. In short, avoid the Chinese/Asian food at all cost! Maybe the other stuff is better, but even downtown, you can find food that is comparable in price and MUCH better. read more

This place is really a good go to place. They have sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes (strange I know, but good), a few Chinese food items, specials everyday, as well as the same specials on each week day. They also have breakfast; wraps, bowls, biscuits and gravy and omelettes. I think breakfast is overpriced, but lunch is right on. WOW! I can't believe this place! The food is really very tasty across the board. And I just can't believe how inexpensive everything is, how do they do it so cheap? The portions are huge and they are also FAST and VERY courtious. I have been here so many times I lost count a long time ago and everything I have ordered tastes exactly the way you would expect it to, no "frills" or "here's OUR idea of what this dish should be." No, it's straight up just the way everyone thinks said dish should be. To be fair, the asian fare was just OK, but not bad at all. The Lo mein was actually really good itself, but who cares when you've got EVERY other imaginable genre of cuisine available to you in one place and all of it is JUST the way it's supposed to be. They have Mexican, Italian, really great salads, hot/cold sandwiches, fresh wraps, amazing soups, spaghetti, hamburgers, pizza, breakfast sandwiches (on sourdough, english muffin, croissant--you name it), AMAZING breakfast burritos made to order on the spot fresh, plus any kind of breakfast dish you can think of...and they'll cook you up an omelette fresh right there on the spot: veggie with spinach, mushroom, tomato, feta cheese, or one with meat, cheddar, a Denver omelette, you can get it smothered in green chili with potatoes--whatever you like! You want a couple fried eggs and potates with gravy on it? Done (fresh). Fresh fruit parfait? Check. A GIANT fresh baked potato with all the trimmings on it (or just a few--they make everything to order)? Got it. AND...they're so fast! I've just wasted 7 perfectly good dollars on a pile of deli turkey on soggy bread. The sandwich description gave me the expectation of a grilled panini-style hot turkey sandwich served with au jus. As they were wrapping up my sandwich it did not seem like it had been grilled, so I asked, and was told it was "toasted". I asked about the au jus and they said sure, we'll give that to you, and filled up a soup cup with beef jus. The guy knew I was confused and had questions, but was so hurried to get to the next 10 people behind me that when I said "never mind" he said "OK!" and let me walk out. I got back across the street to my office and found what I was afraid of...soggy bread, a pile of deli turkey, and limp lettuce and tomato. I ate the turkey out of the sandwhich - which would have cost about $1 at the deli counter - and threw the rest away. What a waste! It's too bad, because it's right across the street. Maybe other items are good, but I do NOT recommend a sandwich from this place - absolutely no care or quality. read more
