Thankfully, this place exists! It's saved me twice so far. The guys are pleasant and even offered to help me over the phone if I had any questions about fixing the dryer (I don't- I may be a dainty little girl but I can fix the heck out of an appliance). I will say though, that if any future repairs aren't time sensitive (like the in-laws getting here when the dryer is on the fritz), I would order online (I know, I know). The mark-up here is astronomical!!! I paid over three times the amount for parts. But I paid it- because what else am I gonna do? Hopefully not everyone does this and these guys can stay in business because I like them :)

I called him back in a few minutes after locating the information and was told that he would text me and I would text him back with the model number. Why, I don't know. At any rate, he never texted me so I went down the list to A to Z. I called this number and, low and behold, it was the same guy, berating me for calling him again, although there was no indication that these were branches of a single business. I explained to him the reason for my confusion and offered to give him the model number now. His reply: I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! then he hung up on me. Maybe he was having a bad day, but from the comments I've read he apparently has bad days mixed in with the good. So, you may take your chances but as for me, I'm not going to call him ever again hoping for the positive experience that some report. It's not a gamble I'm willing to take.

Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience with this local shop and in short, cannot recommend…read morebased on: a) Inconsistent information and prices with each interaction, b) having to hound the business repeatedly to get an update on the "repairs", c) after 2 weeks finding out that they determined they can't actually fix the item (only after I called again to find out status, after they told me they would update me asap), and the real pearl of my experience: d) having the owner imply that I am a liar (and in turn, lie to me about a phantom conversation he had with me!) So a fair warning to all - you bear the cost of their experimentation. If you do decide to let them "try" to fix something make sure your entire understanding is in writing! For more color: 1) Day 1: Told my wife it is $100 to look at an AC regardless of whether they fix it or not, regardless of whether they come to your house or you bring it in (should have just stopped there). But, on Day 2 I decide to go into store myself and confirm that this is indeed the policy (because that seemed like an expensive policy for an inexpensive item) 2) Two gentleman greeted me (depending on the version of his story, one of the gentlemen may or may not have been the owner). I explained my air conditioner had fallen out of 1st story window (~4ft) and electric cord appeared to have been yanked loose. I asked if that is the sort of thing they repair. "yes". I asked if it is indeed $100 to look at if I brought it in. "$50". I asked what happened to my $50 if they couldn't fix it. "There is no such thing as an air conditioner that can't be fixed". I marveled at that, obviously, as that is a pretty memorable and confident thing to say! Said ok, so what happens after you fix it? The total price subtracts out the $50 fee? "yes". 3) I come back the next day with my air conditioner. Reiterate the exchange from previous day since this was another new person I was dealing with and it didn't feel like they had consistency in their "process". Fill out the forms, am told they will take a quick look at it (I *assumed* to eyeball and make sure they indeed can fix). They call me back later that day and tell me that they will get working on it and I need to come back and pay $50. So I came back, paid $50. 4) Fast forward after multiple follow ups on my part (only time they reached out to me was to tell me to come back and pay $50). They tell me they cannot fix the air conditioner. I expect that I will be refunded the $50. (no) I am very surprised! I say "but they guy told me there was no such thing as an air conditioner that can't be fixed; paying you $50 to MAYYYBE fix it wasn't part of the deal". I am told no one would ever say that. Then was told that the person I probably spoke to doesn't even work with the company anymore. After some back and forth and insisting to speak to owner, I have the privilege of speaking to the owner. 5) Owner reiterates that no one would have ever said that to me, tells me that he remembers me, and instead, what he actually told me was that he *wouldn't even bother fixing an air conditioner if it fell out the window*. WOW, I really must have a serious comprehension problem! (Perhaps needless to say, not the most "customer-centric" tone or approach - I had to ask the owner to please stop being rude and talk through this situation with me). He then ended the call and said he would call me back. (which he didn't)

i have used the expert appliance center several times, both for repairs and to purchase new…read moreappliances. also i have had Jose come in 2x in the last 4 years to check out and clean my now 30 year old GE refrigerator. when i inquired about getting a new one, he told me my current one was functioning well and advised me to keep it. he noted that new appliances are just not as well made. on a different occasion the large wand head on my miehle vacuum stopped working. so i went in to buy a new one, Alexi, the man in the store, told me that they could try to repair it for $40. if it couldn't be fixed, the $40 would be applied to the price of a new wand head (which was well over $100.) well, they fixed it and also showed me how i could open it to clean it more thoroughly than i had been. finally, i recently had to buy a new microwave and figured i might as well buy a new electric range to replace my genuinely antique old one. so they sent me to the internet to find the appliances that i wanted and then return and tell them what i wanted so they would give me their price. they had the items i wanted in stock, were competitive and their installation fee reasonable, which included removing the old appliances and taking them away). we scheduled the installation for a date not far off and they provided, in advance, a certificate of insurance as required by my coop. the delivery was as scheduled and the 2 men who removed the old appliances and installed the new ones were professional, pleasant and efficient. it is really great to have a place like this, where one is dealing face to face with real people in the neighborhood.
