This is a great new upscale steak house in downtown Everett in the bottom of the recently reopened Arts and Culture center. In recent years Everett isn't the place one fist thinks of for upscale dining, but that keeps changing. This restaurant is serving epic food in a dark and swanky atmosphere. It's a great spot for a special occasion, special date, business dinner, or just celebrating the day. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding, including the caviar appetizer. We came in because we are fans of the chef from his Chef Behind the Curtain days. The plan was a couple of appetizers and a drink or two which turned into also splitting a Wellington. Everything we ate was delicious and artfully plated. I was particularly impressed with the fusion of flavors-katsu sliders and tikka marsala potstickers were creative spins on common dishes that made them feel more elevated somehow. The service staff was top notch and accommodated us beautifully. The atmosphere feels modern while still being true to the historic building in which it is located and includes a comfortable lounge. It's wonderful to have another fine dining option in Snohomish County. This is a great spot for a special occasion or drinks and apps with friends in the lounge. Let me start by saying I went into this dinner knowing I was going to review it. I went with a critical view. First impression, you are in downtown Everett. It is a shady part of town, the building doesn't look like a restaurant dolling out $160 steaks nor is there any signage, YET! We mapped it and remapped it. We decided to park on Everett and Wetmore and walk around the old Club Broadway in an attempt to find the entrance. Once you find the door on the front side of the building and walk thru you immediately know your there. It feels hidden like a speakeasy. Once your in, you feel the vibe. Our reservations didn't make it thru the system. No worries there was plenty of room and the hostess was great about it. We sat in the bar to wait for the rest of our party. Cam, the head bartender was very knowledgeable. We picked his brain about cocktails, mock-tails, food and the vibe of the new place. We were not aware they had only been open for 7 days. It was a very quiet opening and they are trying to get their feet under them. Great conversation, great suggestions and very welcoming. We were kind of a pain. The first table we sat at was very tiny for four people and all the table stuff. With empty tables we asked kindly to be seated in one of their gorgeous green velvet booths. The hostess obliged and helped us move. Little did we know the space was larger but the table was the same size. No worries. Our waiter was awesome and helped keep our table clean. He answered all of our questions, was very attentive, and did great seeing as this was his first job ever as a server. The big question: how was the food. We ordered the Kalmata Bread with a trio of butters. This was my favorite of all things ordered. The flavor was spot on. The butters all very different in flavor and punch. Try the curry. It works trust me. We ordered an extra loaf so that we could finish our butters Next up the Wedge salad was good. It was like any wedge. Our friends ordered the Ahi tuna app and liked it. For dinner we tried the Beef Wellington, glad I can find one close to home but not writing home about it. The pastry and meat were spot on. The pate and duxelles were a tad to salty. Rib eye was good but not a fan of having it cut for you as it felt like it was drying out. However, it made for a nice presentation. New York strip was the same feeling as the ribeye. Wagyu was cooked to perfection. It was seasoned with a heavy hand as it was to salty. It was finished and plate rubbed clean of the sauces though. For dessert, we ordered the Sticky pudding, profiteroles and the Meringues. All of the desserts were good. I would eat more of the Kalamata loaf instead of ordering dessert next time though. Yes, I think once they get their footing this will be a great night out. I worry about the neighborhood being the right place for such an upscale menu. It is quite pricey. The employees were all very knowledgeable, happy to be there, happy to share the history of the building and what the upcoming vision is for the building. Very hit and miss. It can be very good, like extremely good, but it can also fail to deliver. I recently went for the supper club and they were out of 2 of the main dishes even though our seating was at the start of the reservation range. Another time, my duck was very dry (the taste was good). I tried my brothers (veal?) shank at the same seating and it was extremely good. For the normal menu, one the of wellingtons I've had was also completely raw. I typically enjoy rare steak and even blue-rare, but I was surprised it came out that way. That said ive had a couple good ribeyes, their burger is the best I've had in the area and I generally enjoy their cocktails, even though they all fall on the sweet side. I generally like this place, but at the price point I think they make too many simple mistakes to give them a 4 or 5 rating. read more

I took my wife here for Valentine's Day and the service and ambiance were just okay. We ordered drinks and my wife didn't care for hers so our server replaced it no questions asked, the service although nice, was a bit slow. We also loved the lighting and music but were put off by deer heads everywhere. I think the food was a little lackluster, especially for the price. Our appetizers (tartare and scallops) were on the bland side. And the mushroom risotto we ordered for the main course was overly salty. First time here, was a surprise dinner and show date that my wife arranged. The restaurant was a bit of a surprise since I'd lived in Everett back in the mid-90s and then in Seattle for the past twenty-five years or so, and Everett is not a city with a reputation for fine dining. I'm happy to see that folks are investing in fine dining and was impressed from the moment I entered the foyer. The building appears to have some interesting history and I'm a bit disappointed that the staff didn't offer any information about it. The interior would not be out of place in Brooklyn or Los Angeles. Very large performance stage with a grand piano and about thirty minutes after we arrived a pianist came out and played very nice melodies for the remainder of our time there. The menu is headlined by steak but offers several other options including a couple of fine entrees with fish, a fish-and-chips option, and many appetizers that provide an array of choice. We had steak tartare (a different kind of preparation and a smaller quantity than usual, but worth a try), the mixed greens salad (lots of arugula and a solid choice), fish and chips (good, but should come with more fries and a cocktail sauce option), and the Pompous Dutchman cocktail (my wife loved it - not too sweet). The kitchen appeared to have logistics trouble and our dishes took far longer than expected to arrive, and the staff were apologetic and ended up providing the cocktail and appetizer gratis. If we'd been in a hurry the service would have been a real problem, but were fortunate to have booked an early reservation. The ambiance is very nice and there is no trouble talking at a table, which I deeply appreciate in restaurants these days. Note that the full wine list is apparently only available via QR code plus electronic device, and I didn't bring a screen to the restaurant. I'd expect a restaurant of this quality to have at least a backup option for people that can separate themselves from their phones, rare though they may be! read more

No salts delivered instead the option to pay extra for subpar butters and sauces. Staff was decent, but not el gaucho standards or any other high end steak place. Even the met does better. There was free parking in a small lot behind the building and the entrance had a sandwich board sign on the sidewalk to direct us in. The interior is very cool, eclectic and inviting. The person who greeted us showed us to a table and then immediately told us that the table was booked with another party in two hours, so... Um, okay. Our server was cheerful and helped us narrow down a few choices. We started with a mixed drink from the menu of fun options and thoroughly enjoyed them. Then, we had a wedge salad that was a standard wedge except I felt like the dressing was a bit richer and tastier than most. Though the menu stated that beef wellington takes 20 minutes, I ordered one and my partner had a steak. The wellington came sooner than expected with mashed potatoes that were good and grilled asparagus. Here's the thing I'm knocking off points for; the plates were cold and only two of the six asparagus spears actually had tips on them. The beef was inconsistent pieces wrapped in a perfectly cooked pastry. I tried to ignore my imagination wondering if I was eating leftovers - and somewhat cold ones at that. The steak was supposed to come with mashed potatoes and did not. Management might ask why we didn't send things back and, quite frankly, I don't like doing that because my imagination of what might happen in a kitchen would ruin whatever came back out for me. For dessert we chose the sticky pudding and were disappointed in how dry it was as well as the portion size to share (for the price). Bottom line, I think they're off to a good start with atmosphere and desire, but need to work a bit harder on the actual product. From pre dinner cocktails in the lounge (shout out to the extra dirty martini & the old fashioned your way) to the appetizers (jumbo shrimp cocktail was so sweet and fresh) to the bread with trio of butters we were impressed. And then came the ribeye & chicken. Both were amazing--rivaled any meal we have had at Daniel's (Bellevue or Seattle). This is a hidden gem with small but sophisticated ambiance. Update! Just got back from having lunch there with my husband and friend. Very strange experience. The server was the Art Curator I believe. She was attentive but our interactions were rather uncomfortable. She asked us multiple times if we'd been there before, was though she didn't take the first "yes" we gave her seriously. When we received our buratta, it looked different than normal. No mint leaves and no crostini's to eat it with. We asked for crostini's and this seemed to not sit well with the server. She felt the need to tell us several times that the buratta NEVER came with crostinis. Checked with the kitchen and came back and told us AGAIN how they don't give crostinis. Then at the end of the meal, she reiterated once more that bread doesn't come with the appetizer and went as far as to ask us if they should change the menu and add crostini's because she's "always looking for feedback on the menu". What?? The photos I have posted in this very review show how I've received the buratta every single time. Beautifully plated and the crostinis on the side. Ya know... to eat the cheese and berries on. Anyway, we love this place but didn't feel welcomed, heard or value by this server. Her behavior was very strange. I celebrated a co-worker's going away party at 16Eleven. The building and atmosphere were really remarkable. The lighting and decor gave 1920's Gothic Gatsby vibes. We were greeting immediately and sat quickly for our reservation. We ended up having an additional unexpected guest and the staff was super quick and accommodating to help us add more seating. After a quick champagne toast, we ordered cocktails and appetizers and dinner. Food came out in a perfectly timely manner, giving just enough time between courses to relax and chat before everyone went quiet once dinner came out. Everyone enjoyed their dishes! Some of the party ordered different steaks, a few of us had the seafood risotto, the butternut squash ravioli, and the chicken dish. We ended the night with what seemed like two of each dessert! Reserved a booth for our second time through the doors, nonissues getting seated, it was fairly quiet with maybe 30 folks enjoying the lighting and space. Started with the French Onion soup. If you fear cheese, not for you. We loved it, a lighter broth with maybe beer rather than red wine. It was lighter than I expected given the cheese bomb covering the top. Enjoyed the Beef Wellington dining at 1611. Maybe not quite as much sauce/flavor as I expected, but it was well presented. beef was really nicely cooked medium rare and the ring of finely chopped mushrooms inside the crispy puff pastry were a nice touch, but a definite lack of a strong sauce presence was noticeable. Started with the wedge salad, excellent. Cocktails were perfect as always. Other enjoyed the burger for a second time, it's an amazing experience she apparently can't get enough of in a steak house, good on her. Our server was good, but I felt like we sat for quite a few minutes for a slow night (a Tuesday) before she came over and brought water and greeted us. Maybe it was that our first trip was too perfect with Chilean Sea Bass and one of the nicest servers We've ever experienced in Everett. (First night was 5 ) No worries, we will return soon enough, such a rare great option in Snohomish County, not just Everett. We had reservations here just prior to seeing Nate Bargatze at Angel of the Winds arena. This was a very cool location and had amazing vibe to it. It was very unexpected as you approach the building that you'd find something so amazing inside. For the most part the service was good, though a mishap with my drink made for a frustrating experience. I joined my party after finding parking and most of them already had drinks. The server took my drink order along with my wife's and shortly after returned with my wife's drink and bottle of wine. I didn't think much of it as I ordered a cocktail and the bartender looked to be fairly busy. After 20 minutes had passed we reminded the server and she went to check on it. Another 20 minutes passed and I was about to just give up on my drink, but my wife reminded the server again. She came back and apologized stating that my drink was being prepared right away. Another 20 minutes passed and my drink finally came out with the rest of my parties second round. I had a classic Old Fashion and it was amazing despite the annoyingly long wait. I also enjoyed the Waygu hamburger which was delicious. My only complaint about my meal was that my fries were cold when they were served. Overall for the price paid and the lacking service for my drink and poor timing of the kitchen/service for my food, I can't say that I would dine here again. There is far more to be desired when you are paying a $200 (slightly more) tab for 2 people for a burger, salad and drinks. read more

We came to 1611 for our second anniversary on NYE and our waitress was so kind, the food was decent but a little over priced in my opinion, the $85 ribeye was smothered in gravy and unevenly cooked and they crostini's were stale and rock hard with the tartare. We paid a $25/person deposit for the reservation on NYE with a description of a live band playing from 7-9 in the dining room and for the deposit to be applied to the final bill. (See attached) When we arrived at 8pm the band wasn't playing (I assumed just on break) then they arrived for 20 minutes around 8:15 only to leave before 8:45. Not a big deal again, just not as expected. But the issue was with the final bill, the $25/person deposit wasn't taken off. I asked the waitress who said it has been an issue with a couple others as well. She took it away and then came back explaining it was an admission fee that they charge and then take off, which I understand if it was disclaimed but it wasn't clearly stated. Also the original bill provided did not show an admission fee with a reduction (just our food and drinks). I asked to talk to the manager and she sent him over and that's where things really went down hill. They added an admission fee and reduction to the bill at this point and that's what he provided us. He was then rude and abrasive, I tried showing him what was shown when we paid and booked the reservation and he tried accusing me of just trying to get out of paying what everyone else was. My husband hasn't gotten that upset in a long time and I just decided to suck it up and pay the added fee to avoid argument but he was a jerk about the whole thing. Then he took the pen so we had to ask the hostess to borrow one so we could leave the waitress a tip. Next year they should be more clear and have a new manager for sure because we won't be coming back after our experience with him. Classy, decadent and delicious. This place is exactly what Everett needs. The drinks are amazing and so well executed. The food is so modern, experimental and delicious. The katsu sliders, the tuna tacos and the steak tartare were all standouts. Upon eating and drinking in this historical space, I could not but help but to dream about my next visit and who I would bring along. I was so impressed with the level of service, the environment and the offerings that I was infatuated in thinking about future visits. I cannot recommend this place enough. The 1st time I came here I did not know what to expect, but this place blew my expectations. I was only going to get a main meal but I ended up getting french onion sould and it was amazing would get it again. I got the filet for my dinner and it was cooked perfectl! The server was very attentive and friendly. We each had a different meal, but tried each others dishes. The Sea Bass was so delicious...firm but tender and flaky at the same time.
