Okay so I came here today after reading reviews and getting super super super frustrated with my Samsung S3. For a millisecond, I even considered throwing my Samsung away and moving to the "dark side" aka Apple iphone. But, I refuse! I've been sticking through with Samsung for so many years, we are practically BROS. Anyways enough of that rant. I came here to fix my Samsung s3 power button. I've been so pissed off that my phone keeps automatically turning off and then when I take the battery out and put it back in, it auto reboots. I was losing my mind! So I came by and got a quote to see how much it would take to replace the power button. It was 35 bucks, but with a student discount I got it for 10% off. YAY! So my total was 31.50. I had a 50% initial deposit before I left. My ETA for my phone getting fixed was an hour. I left them my gf's phone number since they're fixing my phone and they can't really call me. So about 45 minutes after hanging out next door at Ladybug tea, her phone rang and my phone was ready to be picked up. So I come in, pay the rest of the bill and checked my phone, everything works fine so far. I was happy and I'm glad to keep my samsung s3 working well =) read more

Updated review: I had to take them down a few stars. After day 1, the screen started to show streaking, no scratches but some sort of glass defect under the initial layer. Upon researching defective glass, I found this to be a glass defect in the finishing process. To make a long story short, Jason (I'm assuming the manager) made things right with an alternative solution. However, the quality of the products used is simply poor. The new screen applied is now separating from the phone and has exposed the internal components. Another employee named Fawn however, was simply rude. Not only to me, but to other customers in the store who walked out after her poor customer service. I would recommend you avoid her when coming in with a phone issue. Bottomline: they will fix your phone. But you may not get quality material from the start or you may be stuck working with Fawn who simply cannot comprehend anything wrong with product quality. My recommendation: go to the Apple Store in Pasadena and have them fix for phone screen - it's cheaper ($109, $79 with apple care) and you won't have to pay this store's $120 fee to have someone tell you you're wrong and deal with the hassle. I didn't research my options when in crisis, but I wish I had. I would also assume you get Apple quality end-to-end when working with the manufacturer. read more

I am absolutely amazed by the service and quality of this place! Super awesome workers. Jonathan and Dennis helped me through this entire process and I couldn't be happier. So my S3 went through excessive abuse and had the worst cracked screen ever. Just imagine cracks resembling spider webs. It was a funny joke to tell others that they called and their face was so ugly that it cracked my screen, "ha-ha-ha" but that joke got old real soon. I needed help. I went in with my jacked-up phone thinking that it was hopeless. Dennis took a look at my phone and got right to it. He checked every function (touch screen, volume, camera, etc.) then quoted me and said that it will take 2-3 days to fix. And guess what? 2 days. BAM. I get a call from them. It is done and ready for pick-up. Talk about quick service. Aside from the S3, I wanted to pick up some accessories for my new HTC One M8. They have a wide variety of screen protectors, tempered glass, and cases (which they could help you install). I saw some super cute ones that you could customize your iphone5 with. So no more blehhh standard colors and maybe get yourself a nice blue or pink backing. These workers are fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Only downside is that this place seems to be Cash Only. Regardless, I will definitely recommend everyone to come here. read more

Love .. Love.. Love this place!!!! My bf and I found them at a vendor booth at the Chinese New Year festival on valley earlier this year. They added tempered glass screen protector to my bfs iPhone 6 and I just added a regular screen protector on my iPhone 5. They did a really clean job adding the screen protectors on the phones. I went back to them again when I upgraded to iPhone 6. My bf dropped his phone a few weeks after he added the tempered glass and boy was he lucky. The original screen was still in tact. So I decided to add the temper glass instead. The store is next to the 168 supermarket in San Gabriel. The store had a few employees working on other ppl's phones. But they were attentive and greeted all their customers! I waited less than 5 mins for them to install my new screen. In the meantime, I was browsing at all the other phone and iPad accessories. My Nexus 5 kept cycling OFF & ON and then optimizing 166 apps making my phone unusable and draining the battery. I read online that it's the power button that needed to be fixed but my phone was out of warranty. I called the store at 6:30pm and they said if I got there in 10 mins they could fix it for me. I got there at about 6:50pm and the repair guy (forgot to get his name) stayed behind to fix it for me. 20 mins later whatever he did seemed to do the trick. He even threw in a screen cover and put it on for me. There's a 90 day warranty too so if anything goes wrong with it I can bring it back and they will take a look. Staff was extremely helpful and nice! Thanks for resurrecting my phone! I can now go back to ignoring people =D read more

Found this place via Yelp. Cracked glass LCD screen. And about to leave town. FIXIT fixed it in a jiffy -- same day!!! Fast and efficient at a good price. YAY!!!!! PROS - Friendly customer service. Patient and good explanations when asked questions. Promised to call when the phone was ready, and they did. Good follo up! In the store, they checked out the touch screen before giving it back to me. Excellent. Also put back the SIM card. Made sure everything worked. Made calls from the phone to make sure. Very thorough! Good price. ($50). Also put a plastic screen protector. Great! CONS - Cash only. Only reason I didn't give five stars. Also the phone wasn't quite ready when I walked in the door...still being tested. So I couldn't just grab the phone, pay, and zip out the door. Had to wait and I had groceries meltin in the car on a 107 degree day...but had it been a regular day, I wouldn't have minded the ten-minute wait. I am a fan and will recommend. Overall, great job. My feelings about "168 Fix It" changed drastically today--now, I just don't trust them anymore and you shouldn't either. To preface, I took my iphone into 168 two weeks back because I had a huge crack on my screen after dropping it. I went in, explained the issue, and they were more than accommodating by replacing the LCD screen for a affordable price; completing the repairs in less than an hour; going over all the repairs by overly explaining (in a good way) the screen replacement and whole process; making the entire experience with 168 seamless and painless. Even as I was leaving, they gave me a friendly reminder, telling me to keep the receipt handy were any issues to arise from the repairs. I left more than satisfied and fully expected to frequent 168 for any and all future phone issues, repairs, or accessory purchases--this was now going to be my go-to store. Fast forward to this morning where my iphone's screen is black even when the power's on. I read online that this might be a hardware issue and made zero association with the repairs that were made a couple of weeks back at 168. My thought process this morning was--my phone's not working, I should take it into 168 since they did such a great job last time. So I take my phone into 168 (without the receipt from the previous repair thinking the issues weren't related) when the technician looks at it and tells me it's LCD screen related. He then starts to list off the price options for screen replacement when I tell him that I actually replaced the LCD screen here not too long ago. He looks me dead in the eye and proceeds to list off prices again without acknowledging what I just said. I tell him again that I got my LCD screen replaced here not too long ago and like clockwork, he looks up and starts listing off prices for screen replacement, AGAIN. I then, more sternly, tell him again about the prior LCD replacement when finally one of his colleagues from behind asks if I had the receipt. I told them no, went back home, found the receipt, and headed back to 168. Once back with receipt in hand, they opened up the iphone, examined it for 5 minutes, and informed me the LCD had a crack. I ask them to show me the crack and the guy leaves with the phone, takes it to the technician, and after further examination tells me it's a backlight issue (not a cracked LCD anymore) connected to the motherboard and that the phone can't be restored. They tell me a new phone is the best option. Now I wasn't born yesterday, and since this whole sequence of events today screamed RUN AROUND, I took my phone to another repair place to find out, guess what, it's an LCD screen replacement issue. So, potential patrons of 168, take my experience today into account. This place is nothing but a racket full of liars and fraudsters. I actually called them to tell them about their lies and the person on the other line didn't say a word. I could tell they knew that I knew but frankly just didn't give two shits about it. read more

Just had my Samsung Note 3 replaced through verizon. A couple weeks later, it wouldn't hold a charge, and even when connected to a charger, the battery would still drain. It was 330pm and I needed my phone fixed before starting a new job the next morning. I didn't want to deal with nor could I wait for a replacement phone. I found 168 fix it on yelp after searching for a place to try and repair the charging port on my note 3. I called and spoke with Dennis, he told me he wasn't sure he had the part, but that he would look and call me back. About 30 mins later, I got a call from Dennis, telling me he would have to order the part, and that he could have it later that evening between 6 and 630 and he could have it in my phone before they close at 7 When I got there at 630 everyone was really friendly, and the service was quick, after a systems and function check of my phone they started working on it, then 15 minutes and $45 bux later my phone was like new! I am extremely grateful to Dennis and the crew at 168 fix it. They came through for me when I was really in need. Brought my iPad here to have the broken screen (digitizer) changed. They were very busy on the Saturday, so it took a few hours for them to complete. It cost $95. They are very professional here. Please note that they need your security code to unlock your device so they can check it after fixing. I wasn't totally comfortable with it so I deleted all my banking and shopping apps and signed off of iCloud before handing over the iPad. Definitely would recommend this place so fixing phone and tablets. read more

Realizes he broke off the black rim of the camera lens as he was trying to pull off the adhesive. Note: with the right tweezers, you never go around the rim. This is the first bad review I ever write and I honestly hate to do this but I am very disappointed. I went in to fix the screen of my iPhone 6 Plus. It was completely broken. They told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that they would fix it. When I went in the next day to pick up my phone I realized that the screen was coming off the phone. I told the person that was helping me and she asked a guy that was sitting in the back fixing phones. I'm not sure what he said but she came right back and said, "oh it's because your phone is crooked. So we can't really do anything about this". They should've told me that when I dropped it off! Came in for my screen replacement for Samsung S4 after reading the review and having my friends gone here before. The price is fair considering how it's more laborious to change a Samsung screen than an iPhone. They were kind enough to swap my bezel free of charge with parts left over. They check everything before and after replacing the screen. I did have a hitch when I first went back to pick up the phone, but they had no problem fixing the issue. Overall it was professionally done. I would totally come back, but ideally I wouldn't want to break my phone screen again. read more

Found this place on yelp and like all the other reviews, they did a perfect job fixing my iPhone. The screen itself wasn't cracked but I had a streak of green and red lines running though the center which made that area of the screen unresponsive to touch. they fixed it within 15 - 20 min while i went to shop for tooth paste at cvs next door. So I walked into this store 10 minutes before they closed on the day before The 4th of July holiday. I explained my phone stopped charging and was completely dead and asked if they could fix it for They asked me if I needed my phone fixed the same day and I said it would be awesome if they could do that, but I also understood it if they needed to close on time. But they agreed to fix it for me right away!!! 30 minutes later I got my phone back and they tested everything to make sure it worked just fine. They even asked me if I needed to charge my phone in the store before I left so I could get a little battery on my phone! The sales assistant Johnathan was really friendly and helpful. And Jay the technician was so good, he detected my phone'a problems in a heartbeat and replaced my charger port. We we decided to come back and go through with the repair, at first we weren't sure if we wanted a repair or replace (they also helped me with my tablet, see previous post for more dets). The estimate for the phone repair was reasonable, so even though the repair wouldn't be ready in time for my son's long flight to the east coast, we decided to go forward with the repair. WELL, these guys realized that night that the replacement part was not avail as they originally thought, BUT they got creative and FOUND a similar part (charging port) on a phone in their "remnents box'. They stayed late to make the repair and make sure that it worked hoping my sound could have it in time for the flight. That was so awesome of them. Again, super nice guys, they went above and beyond for us. I charged the phone last night and it charges perfectly! Broke my iPhone 4S screen on a Saturday night and 168 Fix It was one of the few places open on a Sunday, luckily. I walked-into the store on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by Kevin. If you need someone who speaks Chinese, ask for Dennis the technician. I filled out a form and they double checked the current status of my phone features for liability reasons (I assume). They required a 50% initial deposit and I was told my phone would be ready ~30 mins. After I got my phone, I noticed that my home button was a little mis-aligned. Being the perfectionist that I am, I asked them to re-align it for me. Even though it's a huge hassle (they have to take out all the screws again), Dennis told me he could do it and to come back in another 30 minutes, since he was now working on the phone next in the queue. Once I got my phone back, I was satisfied with my new screen that worked perfectly. FYI: they have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee-- the customer service is great! Came to fix an iPad 2017 model with a cracked screen. It was fixed with no issues, in less than 2 hour quoted time, and quick to pick up the phone when I called to check if it was ready. Was quoted $80. We previously came to replace another iPad screen ( what happens when you have a house with children...and adult children), it was $70. The other night, I was sitting in my car and had forgotten that I had my phone on my lap. As soon as I had gotten up and out of the car, my phone took a leap of faith and fell hard onto the concrete floor. The screen was perfectly fine; however, the back camera lense was completely shattered.
