There was no line. It was my first time here and I thought it was pretty nice. There are a couple of private couch areas for table service as well as some general public seating. There are two dance floors, the main one featuring a mix of pop and hip hop and a room spinning EDM beats off to the side. It was nice to have the two rooms, so when we didn't like the music in one room we could always check out the other room. There was a decent crowd on both dance floors without it feeling too crowded. I'm guessing it was a mix of tourists and locals, given Hawthorn's proximity to Union Square. All drinks were 50% off before 11 pm with guestlist, which was a nice surprise. This includes even their specialty cocktails which normally go for $14, so it was a great deal. We ended up staying here for 2.5 hours, which was much longer than we expected. But between the two dance floors and lounge seating when we wanted to take a break, it was a good spot to spend Saturday night.

Lighting was spectacular highlighted with a disco ball in the center of the dance floor, and a LED/neon tunnel behind the DJ's head & booth. You could even get up close & personal to the DJ for selfies & handshakes/fist bumps. The sound system was great, loud but not too loud, just right for enjoying EDM music. Dance floor was very small, crowded, and hot. They could probably use a little more ventilation or A/C, even fans would help. People were packed tightly together, leaving very little room for body motion with hitting your neighbor. Felt a bit too claustrophobic for me, so we stayed at the benches to people watch at a good distance back from the speakers & DJ. Sound levels were nice, clear, and the bass was good to feel the music. Staff from the front/security, coat check, bartenders, and bar backs/bussers were really nice and professional, with no attitude or aggression. The bottle girls were pretty stunning & sexy in their little outfits and were really working those VIP booths and entertaining/hyping up the crowd. Bathrooms were clean, floor was clean, and the soundsystem & lighting were excellent. All the makings of a good, small, dancing/EDM/DJ/music venue. I liked this place, and I would not hesitate to come back to see another show here. Just make sure to wear layers in the wintertime, so you can peel off clothing as the room & vibe heats up here! It's a small venue that I enjoy a lot because its easy to find people in your group and you can clearly see who is playing. The dance floor also doesn't get to crowded so its easy to have fun. The sound system is also amazing, its so crisp and clear and not overly loud. The interior is interesting, they have fake plants hanging from the roof as well as lasers and fog. The backdrop behind the DJ also looks like a portal and the odd combination of design does help transport you to another world. The worst thing is the bar, I really liked the bartender,but I couldn't help but notice the plastic cups had a chlorine taste to them. Despite the line being a bit long to enter, we got in quickly and without issue. The bouncer was super nice. He held onto some canned drinks that we had brought with us so that we didn't have to throw them away (which in this economy, I definitely appreciate)! We reminded him about the drinks on our way out and he happily grabbed them for us. This spot has great vibes. Despite it being crowded, everyone inside was being respectful, dancing, and having a great time. Once you get to the opposite side of the building, the space opens up to a larger dance floor with seating around the sides. The music was great. They were playing 2010s dance music and it was definitely a hit. The line at the bar moved very quickly and the bartenders were friendly. Warehouse venue with lots of street parking…read more I purchased tickets with a group of friends to attend the "Love for LA Fire Relief Benefit:Doc Martin,Marques Wyatt,Galen,DJ M3 & more" in support of the LA fires. The show started at 7pm, however, we did not arrive until after 10pm. The location is ideal, with quick access from the freeway and plenty of street parking. Check in was smooth and simple - scan a QR code and show your ID to enter. The warehouse space boasts multiple bars, a large central dance space, and a few side areas to sit or lay your coat while you dance. The sound system and lights are on par with expectations, and overall, it's a very comfortable venue.
