I am giving this little place five stars for two reasons: one is the amazing, welcoming attitude of…read morethe place, and the other is because I only drank soda and nobody cared. Mesh, the bartender was so amazing, friendly and approachable. I came into this little place with a feeling of history. You see, my mom worked here for years in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. I loved that the bar is modernized just enough to make it comfy, but with enough of the old feel to make it feel as though my mom was still there. As my mom passed away several years ago, I walked in with tear-filled eyes and Meesh totally understood and even allowed me to play my mom's favorite song on the juke box. So, with Lyin Eyes on the awesome and modern jukebox and the neon booze signs on the walls, I could actually feel my mom in the room, telling her infamous dirty jokes. I shared this with everyone, and we all raised a glass in her honor. Tequila shots for my companions and a water shot for me! I love that they serve hard alcohol here, makes for a nice variety in drinks and patrons. Now, on this particular night, there were only 3 others in the bar (maybe 4), but it was a great atmosphere. The entire place is super clean with updated bathrooms with the doors I'm sure were there when the place was built. Now, I don't drink and have never really been a regular at a bar, but the welcoming environment and friendly Meesh, I am certain I'll be back again & again. If you are in Kenmore, stop in for a nice beverage, good conversation and homey atmosphere!

There were separate menus for food and for drinks. They do not take reservations, so expect a wait if you visit in prime time. I had a plum gin and tonic - made with a limited production gin variety, and my wife greatly enjoyed the whiskey with apricot. Both beverages were unique, somewhat sadly so, since I'd like to be able to find them closer to my home... Between the excellent drinks, live bluegrass, and food from De La Soil, Copperworks in Kenmore makes a fantastic destination. Parking may also be difficult to find if you show up on a busy evening.

Lots of seating inside and outside available. Plenty of flatware and napkins available. Good was available to order although we skipped as we were doing food elsewhere. Drink prices were very reasonable and lots of variety including non alcoholic options. Parking was available in the street and in the lot. Also direct access to biking/running trail was available.

It was a Friday afternoon, so there was no one else there but us The ambiance of the place was so chill with the wispy octopi and blowfish that was reminiscent of the Crusty crab, if it was allowed to mature and become refined. The food was great but the drinks were phenomenal. The key component was the master bartender that just happened to be on shift that day. Michael. Talk about being someone who has a passion for their craft, being a master and loving every minute of it. The history of the drinks and their components, the origins of the makers, the sensory experience of the bitters and personal stories that went into every drink that he made. Some of them on the menu and some of them not. I asked for a rye whiskey drink and he produced the most amazing manhattan I've ever had. I inquired about Mezcal and he made me a drink that embodied the structured flavors of smoke and leather with sweet and savory. And then there was absinthe. The original Zombie was a fine introduction to that, and it did not disappoint, but he had a plan for each path. We will absolutely be back for more.

The Cajun tots we received were cold and hardly any Cajun spice on them. I thought they mistakenly gave us the plain tots. No cutlery was offered with our sandwiches. We asked for a condiment but didn't get it until we were nearly done eating. It was a bummer as I was showing this place to a friend. I had talked it up and was left disappointed.

I'd been to the State park before (before it became a hotel and bar) so I had a bit of an idea of where this cute little speakeasy bar might be, plus we also wanted to walk around & see "everything" before having our drinks. I will say that I would have ended up here much sooner (I've been wanting to go check it out for the past year or maybe even 1.5 years) but the fact that you either have to have a Discover Pass or pay $10 per car for parking, was what delayed me in making it to this bar. I truly feel that the Tonsorium Bar should validate parking and then they'd have a lot more customers. I already knew that the food and drinks at the bar were going to be pricey, and didn't want to pay the $10 parking fee on top of that. I finally found a friend who had a Discover Pass and who also wanted to check out the bar, so I did eventually make it! Once inside the building you need to find stairs and go downstairs. If you see an old barber chair, you know you've found the bar! They had live music when we went (and it was really good too), not too loud, not too quiet, just the perfect volume. The staff uniforms seem to be a green dress shirt or blouse, and all the servers & the bartender were nice and helpful. The fries were very good but a bit pricey ($9 seems a bit much for fries) and I enjoyed my cocktail. They also had quite a few items on their non-alcoholic menu (nice for those who don't drink or the designated driver) but I wish they would get some non-alcoholic rum as that is my favorite, and sadly that was one of the few things they didn't have. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you will probably love this place, as they have a lot of foods on the happy hour menu as well as the dinner menu to accommodate. Foods seemed to come from the restaurant upstairs and it was nice to see them bring the foods past us and get an idea of what all the menu items looked like. I kind of wished I'd gotten the steak salad, as that one looked really appetizing when they brought it out. Since this bar is "downstairs" there isn't really a view of the grounds, like the bar upstairs has, but this is definitely the "popular" bar, probably cause of it's cozy feel and speakeasy vibes. Looking forward to coming back when the weather gets warmer and maybe combining a walk/mini-hike around the grounds with a trip to the bar.
