This is the best coffee I've had in Chicago. The breakfast items were fantastic including bagel sandwiches and arepas. There were only a few tables and service was quick and accommodating for our preferences. It's also one of the least expensive breakfast restaurants we've had in the area. A casual experience, there were lots of locals coming in this Saturday for coffee and other items. We will definitely be back. read more

very cozy and cute study place. pretty small but gets the job done. SO YUMMY!! I got a la pelua arepa and i highly recommend

Food was fantastic. I recommend the Havana and the Porkie. Doughnuts looked amazing as well.

Consistently delicious and prepared to a very high standard. The people who run this place obviously care deeply about the food. Today I got the Catirota arepa. The avocado and cheese is warm and creamy, the plantains slightly sweet, and the arepa itself both crispy and spongy. I recommend considering this place instead of Starbucks when you want a quick breakfast and coffee. read more

Stopped by to get out of the cold and have coffee. It's a nice, quiet place to get some work done on a laptop as well. I tried the XMas Latte which was great, and one of the arepas, which was delicious. Would definitely come back again. read more

I'ma give it to you straight. I spent $6 on a cold brew dark Columbian with CBD. The CBD alone was a charge of $3.25 for 1mg per 12oz coffee. The cold brew tasted watered down. Whether they have a low coffee to water ratio or short brew time, I don't know. The space is nice and spacious enough. And, is close to the Belmont stop. The barista was nice enough to answer my questions and I felt welcomed. But, the search for good cold brew and CBD combo in Chicago, continues. read more

Super delicious place serving up interesting Arepas! Looking at the menu, you'll want to try all of their options. The prices are a bit steep, but understandable due to the area this place is in! The arepas are made super fresh and piping hot when served! Ordered the La Pelua and the Catirota! They both have the same fixings, just different protein. Both were super hot and needed some time to cool off before we come take a hardy bite. The Gouda cheese on top was soooo delicious and just made our mouths water even more. The meat in both were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The sauce was just right where it wasn't too messy to eat or lacked flavor. The size and flavors kind of made the price worth it! The space itself is cozy and they have a full coffee bar as well! The drinks look pretty interesting and definitely worth a try. read more

Wandered in on my way home from the train and I'm SO glad I did. Housed in the former Dollop Coffee space on the north side of Belmont, they somehow made it feel bigger and brighter. That just adds to the good feeling you get when you step inside. There are four basic food/drink groups here: coffee/tea, smoothies, sammies, and bowls. In the first category, some of the usual suspects plus some cool stuff like Caribbean Iced Coffee...creme of coconut, caramel, cinnamon, coconut milk, and coffee. All good things! For iced tea...black, green, peach, and blueberry. I mixed the green and peach. Loved it! Smoothies are similarly creative with the staple items plus some Caribbean twists. Bowls are cool...think like Qdoba or Chipotle but WAY better ingredients and a Latin/Caribbean flair. Acai, plantains, etc. Sammies are in biscuit, bagel, pretzel bun, or arepa format. Go for the arepa! I did the La Pelua which was shredded beef, fried sweet plantains, gouda cheese, and a garlic cilantro aioli. I added a dash or three of Cholula because...Cholula! :-) As good as the food is, the service is even better. Friendly, engaging, and caring people making sure you're happy and serving up high quality food at a decent price. How could you ask for more? Definitely stop at 11 Degrees and see for yourself! read more

I am so happy this cute shop made it through the pandemic! I had a bagel with lox, açaí bowl and Caribbean iced coffee. Everything was great. But the açaí was especially delicious!!! Like I love açaí bowls and think this is the best açaí I have ever had. YUM! read more

Interesting place for a snack but they are an arepas place than ran out of arepas when we were there--like a bagel place that runs out of bagels. What we got was OK but I wouldn't rush back. read more

Always great and reasonably fast food. Not super overpriced too. Highly recommend checking it out.

Arrive at 12:10 pm on a Thursday afternoon for lunch, I was the only one in at the time so I was helped right away! Employees were nice and inside was well lit. Ordered the "Take it Easy" arepa and a medium matcha smoothie. Smoothie was done in no time and delicious, the arepa was just ok, actually didn't care for it too much; the bread was nice and crispy, but there was way too much cheese (and I don't think I've ever complained about something having too much cheese in my life lol). I would definitely give them another chance and try ordering a different arepa! read more

Absolutely love 11 Degrees North! They have excellent coffee and amazing food. We keep coming back for the Caribbean Iced Coffee. You really can't go wrong with any of their incredible arepas if you want something to eat. In addition to the great food and drink, the service is great. Each time we go in, we are greeted warmly, served quickly, if you're getting to-go it is generally quick, and the music is always a vibe. Make it a point to go to 11 Degrees North! Whether you are getting your morning coffee or a lunch arepa, 11 Degrees North will brighten up your day. Nothing fancy but interesting menu, very good food and reasonable prices. We really enjoyed our breakfast there and will go back again!

Arepas are phenomenal, good vibes and speedy service. Everything is made fresh. Highly reccomend.

Mira, idk who needs to hear this pero, this place is LEGIIIIT!!!! Two legit to quit actually . We love ordering from 11 degrees on Fridays. We started calling it Arepa Fridays during the pandemic and it stuck ever since lol. So every Friday we order our same meal for breakfast lol. I can only really talk about the PABELLÓN because that's the only thing I've tried so far and I'm one of those people that once i love something, I will not stray (what can I say, Bitches be loyal lol). The pabellón is ropa vieja, black beans, plantains, and some creamy sauce and cheese but I get mine without the cheese. It's do die for, trust! The plátano maduros are sooo good and sweet every time we order them. So go get you some, ASAP!!! read more

I came here for the delicious looking Arepas I saw on Instagram but was really surprised with all the choices! Options include,19 Arepas, 7 biscuit sandwiches, 12 smoothies, açaí bowls, Caribbean drinks, and coffee. They also had some small treats such as muffins, bananas, donuts, chips. I really loved the atmosphere, palms gave it a tropical feel. There are 8 large tables, and a window seat, but it was pretty busy when I went on a weekday afternoon. I got the Caribbean iced coffee (espresso, coconut milk, cream of coconut, cinnamon, caramel,), very delicious! $4.50 for a medium. I also tried two Arepa's which were both great! Havana Arepa - pulled pork, pickles, bacon, Caribbean cheese, egg and signature mustard sauce, $7.50. Catirota - chicken, Gouda, plantains, avocado and zesty garlic sauce, $9.50. read more

One of my favorite places in the East Lakeview/Boystown area! Wide variety of interesting arepa combinations but can also order it plain or with one or 2 toppings. The person at the register gave good recommendations. Super reasonable priced, especially the smoothies which are only ~$6. I live in the area and had always passed but it's usually decently busy so I was interested. Would go out of my way to come here. They make everything fresh to order so there may be a wait but worth it read more

Great spot. The arepas are delicious and i dont know how they get their chicken to be like that but it's absurdly good. Super nice workers and they're quick on service. They keep it hella cold so bring a jacket. There's a couple little window nooks that I like for working in. Anyway it's dynamite read more

Hidden lovely treasure near the Belmont train station. They have a wide variety of coffee types, smoothies, foods and more! Their bakery items also all looked delicious and their red velvet donut was served fresh and with cream cheese on top! They have different types.of smoothie bowls for just under $10 which is cheaper then anywhere else I have seen. They have so many speciality coffees it was hard to choose such as dul che de leche and nutella! I tried the rosemary honey latte today and it did not dissapoint. Not only was the flavor all there but it was served in a giant coffee mug and I couldn't even drink all of it. The staff was very friendly and the place was quiet to do work. I am excited to go back there already. read more

Why 5 stars? Because the Caribbean Iced Coffee was absolutely wonderful. --- --- --- Normally I just order a double shot of espresso black and call it a day, but I was intrigued by the Caribbean Iced Coffee. It had cream of coconut, caramel, cinnamon and coconut milk, which was enough to convince me to stray from my normal order. I went with the medium sized option and from the first sip, I was in absolute heaven. This was one of the tastiest coffees I've ever had. My Dad ordered some kind of food bowl that he enjoyed, but while he was waiting for it to come out, I had already downed my entire coffee. Knowing that our next stop was the airport to fly back home, I couldn't help but seize this opportunity: I went back up to the bar and ordered another Caribbean Iced Coffee. This time a large. No regrets. Based off of how great the coffee was, I was highly tempted to order an arepa as well, but I stayed (mostly) strong with that intermittent fasting life. I say "mostly" because that coffee definitely had a calorie or 200 in it, but that deliciousness was worth every caloric drop. I would definitely come back here on a future trip to Chicago, and next time I'll be ordering food for sure! read more

I love the arepas at 11 Degrees North, especially the pork and plantain stuffed ones. I usually order through GrubBib for pick up and it's always ready on time and fresh. It's my go-to lunch spot. I still need to try their breakfast sandwiches because they look so delicious! I'm a newbie to Arepas since I was mainly exposed to Mexican food in CA. But these have made me fall in love with Venezuelan cuisine. read more

I don't want this secret getting out because I want to come back every week and not face huge crowds. The food is absolutely delicious. I went for breakfast on the weekend and was able to grab a table no problem. I got the Havana arepa which has pulled pork, eggs, pickles and an outrageously delectable mustard sauce. I immediately texted friends and family to say they have to come here. It was also quite filling. It's the type of place where you order at the register and they bring your food to you. It took about five to ten minutes, which was faster than I expected because they have signs saying they don't serve "fast food." I want to try everything on the menu, but it seems like the arepas are their specialty. Can't wait to try more. read more

The best breakfast bagels in the city. You have to wait a little but totally worth it.
